Sports / Ucl:galatasary Vs Juventus 1-0 by reyjay(m): 7:56pm On Dec 11, 2013 |
It took 18 hours for the match to finish, but in the end, Galatasaray got their much needed goal, pushing Juventus out of the Champions League. After hail and extremely unsporting conditions caused the match in Istanbul to be called off before halftime, the meeting between Galatasaray and Juventus resumed on Wednesday. The game began in the 31st minute with the score 0-0. Then, with five minutes left to play, Galatasaray broke the deadlock with the goal that would put them through to the knockout stages. Didier Drogba got on the end of a long diagnonal ball to head on to Wesley Sneijder, who needed just one touch to fire his shot into the bottom left corner. Then they all went and made little snow angels and frolicked like puppies. Galatasaray are through, but surely Juventus will contest the match, played as it was in such conditions. Will they be successful? Unlikely. |
