I have been researching remote work opportunities and noticed that many Nigerians are interested in working remotely but don't know where to start.

Some beginner-friendly areas include:

1. Virtual Assistance – managing emails, calendars, research, data entry and administrative tasks.

2. Customer Service – assisting customers through chat, email or calls.

3. Social Media Management – helping businesses manage their social media pages and create content.

4. Data Entry – entering, organizing and updating information using tools such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

5. Content Writing – creating articles, social media posts, product descriptions and other written content.

I also think learning the right digital tools is important. For example, someone interested in becoming a Virtual Assistant can start with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, Zoom, Slack and similar tools.

The challenge, however, is knowing which skill to focus on and where to find legitimate opportunities after learning.
