XGMA Machinery, a China-based large-scale company that manufactures wheel loaders and excavators, has partnered Richbon Truck Nigeria Limited, as part of efforts to provide new construction equipment aimed at ensuring the socio-economic growth of the country.

The Sales Manager of XGMA in Africa, Michael Zhu, disclosed this during a press conference to mark the launching of the new equipment by XGMA, which was held on the 5th of December 2013.
Zhu noted that the new equipment would be a highly sought after brand in Nigeria’s competitive market because of its efficiency and effectiveness. According to Zhu, “XGMA maintenance team will work with Richbon sales maintenance team in other to ensure good services. We would provide quality products with a very competitive price to attract customers and also provide punctual supply and delivery of spare parts and also provide good after-sale services.”
He also noted that the machines could be easily operated and can work in different conditions, adding that the hydraulic systems in the machines are durable and stable.

Zhu, who further stated that XGMA machines had been used in Chinese Antarctic Island and overcame the cold weather conditions as well as in Saudi Arabia and Namibia where it is extremely hot, stressed that the machines have prevailed despite the climatic conditions.
He stated that: “XGMA will organise its service personnel to work together with Richbon service team to ensure that the service provided is professional and it would train Richbon service teams so that they can build their own service team here in the country so that after two to three years, their local service Engineers will travel around the country to cover all XGMA machines.”

Continuing, he pointed out that all XGMA machines have a warranty period of one year so that its customers should not be afraid of buying the machines and experiencing a break down the following day.
“XGMA hopes to work with Richbon to create more jobs in the country and also to train lots of service engineers to let them develop Richbon. We want to build a factory that would be taken over by Richbon and maybe in 2014 all the machines would be made in Nigeria,” he observed.

The Nigerian auto industry got a jolt when Richbon Nigeria Limited made a huge entry into it few years back. Today, Richbon, the official distributors of Sinotruk brand of trucks in Nigeria, is now on the verge of dominating the Nigerian truck market. In recognition of its positive impact in the truck market, the Sinotruk (chinese) brand of trucks recently won the Nigerian Auto Awards as the fastest growing product in its category.

Just within few years of making its debut in the Nigerian auto market, over 10,000 units of Sinotruk vehicles are currently operating in Nigeria. Lagos State Government last year pledged to purchase 10,000 Sinotruk trucks from Richbon. The State’s Commissioner for Transport, Kayode Opeifa said in December last year when he opened Richbon’s new ultra-modern truck servicing and spare part centre in Lagos that it gladdened his heart that an indigenous company like Richbon was internationally recognized. The Commissioner then pledged the state government’s support for Richbon, saying “an achievement like this needs to be supported and that we would do; Lagos state would need 10,000 trucks … those trucks we would get from Richbon”.

Some of the Unique Selling Points (USP) of Sinotruk include durability, fuel efficiency, ruggedness, comfort, price advantage among others. Edmund Okwu, the General Manager of Richbon says, the success of Sinotruk brand of trucks in Nigeria is anchored on the product’s high quality, in addition to affordability. According to him, Sinotruck vehicles are currently operating in Nigeria without complaints. “All the Sinotruck trucks we sold four years ago when we ventured into the franchise are still running without complaints,” Mr. Okwu said. Sinotruk is produced by Chinese National Heavy Duty Truck Company, CNHTC. Chairman of CNHTC, Ma Chunji, said the company would provide Richbon all the support it needs to further drive its operations within and outside the country.

Richbon is primed at discouraging Nigerians from buying old and used trucks, popular in the Nigerian parlance as Tokunbo . To this end, the company has put in place several incentives targeted at encouraging its customers to acquire Sinotruk trucks. One of such incentives include flexible payment plan.
Okwu said Richbon is at the fore-front of the crusade for the reduction of road accidents in the country hence the company encourages Nigerians to buy Sinotruk vehicles. Speaking to Vanguard Motoring in an interview recently, Mr. Okwu disclosed that over 10,000 (TEN THOUSAND) units of Sinotruk vehicles are operating in Nigeria presently without complaints.

“All the Sinotruk vehicles we sold four years ago when we ventured into the franchise are still running without complaints”, he said, adding that Sinotruk is a product of the Chinese National Heavy Duty Truck Company (CNHTC), the number one Heavy Duty Truck Manufacturer in China, and is well known all over the world.

According to him, the product is gradually dominating the Nigerian truck market, having won the Nigeria Auto Awards as The Fastest Growing Product in its category.

“We observed that there is this mentality about used trucks. The mentality motivated us to go into new trucks. Our research revealed that people who drive used trucks tend to abuse them but those who drive new trucks have this joy to drive because they feel at home in them. They don’t need to spend more money on maintenance given the fact that the trucks are covered by warranty.

Even banks hardly finance used trucks, their reason being that owners hardly repay the loans. When you use new trucks, you don’t need to fear that the truck could disappoint and this gives a level of confidence to even the company you are delivering their products that it will get to the destination.

Richbon Nigeria Limited, an automobile and construction equipment company, is set to inaugurate XGMA construction equipment in Nigeria.

The company, which has its head office in Lagos, said XGMA brand was one of the leading construction companies in the world.

A statement on Tuesday quoted the General Manager of the company, Mr. Edmund Okwu, as saying that the company was introducing the XGMA brand for Nigerians desiring to purchase first-class construction equipment at affordable rates.

The XGMA product reputed for its high pedigree would become the second major product to be made popular in the country by Richbon Nigeria Limited after the success it recorded with Sino truck.

It will be recalled that the Sinotruk brand was also made popular in Nigeria by Richbon and has received an award for two consecutive years 2011 and 2012 as the ‘fastest selling truck brand’ in Nigeria by the Nigerian Auto Awards.

Richbon Nigeria Ltd, Authorised Distributor of Sinotruk in the country opened a new ultra-modern truck servicing and spare part centre in Lagos.

A statement from the company said the development was meant to further strengthen its presence in the Nigerian market.

The statement quoted the Chief Executive Officer, Richbon Group, Mr. Christopher Munagolu, who spoke during a tour of the facility, as saying that 3S was built to provide value-added services for its customers and the transport industry.

Munagolu said the inauguration of the company also informed the visit of the Chairman of China National Heavy Duty Truck Corporation, Ma Chunji, to the company.

Chunji also promised that Richbon Group would get all the support it needed to further drive its operations within and outside the country. The statement quoted Chunji as saying, “We produce 150,000 trucks annually and we have seen large trucks being bought in Nigeria, making the market one of our most viable and Richbon our most valued’.

The Commissioner for Transport, Kayode Opeifa, who opened the facility, commended the laudable feats attained by the company saying, it was good to know that indigenous companies like Richbon were internationally recognised.

He added that this development would no doubt rub off on the growth of the economy.

He also mentioned that the state government would support the company in any capacity to sustain the achievement.

Opeifa said, “An Achievement like this needs to be supported and that we would do; Lagos state would need 10,000 trucks by next year; those trucks we would get from Richbon.”
