Dismiss, prosecute soldiers who murdered
348 Shiites – UK urges Nigeria

The United Kingdom on Thursday
urged the Nigerian government to
implement a White Paper which
recommended the dismissal and
prosecution of soldiers who
murdered 348 members of the
Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka
Shiites in two days of deadly
clashes.
Soldiers attached to the Chief of
Army Staff, Gen. Yusuf Buratai,
opened fire on the Shiites after
hundreds of them blocked the army
chief’s convoy on Kaduna-Zaria
Road. The brutal attack was followed
by a deadly raid on the headquarters
of the Shiites in Zaria, during which
some of the sons of their leader,
Ibrahim el-Zakzaky, were killed.
They also abducted Zakzaky and kept
him incommunicado till date while
the state government demolished
buildings owned by the group.
Following public outcry, Kaduna State
Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, set up a
panel of enquiry. Upon the
conclusion of its assignment, the
state government issued a White
Paper, in which the Nigerian
government was called upon to
dismiss and prosecute the soldiers.
In a tweet commemorating the first
anniversary of the killings, the British
High Commission in Abuja recalled
that “it’s been a year since the tragic
event in Zaria, which reportedly
resulted in the deaths of 348
civilians and one soldier.”
Making specific demands, it stated:
“We call on the Nigerian Federal
Government to take the
recommendations made in the Zaria
report forward in order to ensure that
any future actions taken by the
Nigerian Armed Forces are in
accordance with international human
rights law and/or international
humanitarian law.”

Nigeria relocates Zakzaky, spouse over assassination attempt fears
Sun Dec 11, 2016
The detained leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) and his wife have been relocated to an undisclosed safe location amid fears of assassination attempts.
According to reports, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and Zeenat were moved to the unnamed detention center in the capital Abuja on Saturday.
In early December, the Abuja division of the Federal High Court of Nigeria announced that both of them should be released unconditionally. After a few days, Kaduna State authorities called for Zakzaky’s prosecution for the alleged "lawlessness" of the IMN.
In October, authorities in the state declared the mainstream Shia group as illegal as part of the state crackdown against the Muslim community.
The prominent cleric and his wife were taken into custody on December 14, 2015, after deadly clashes between the supporters of the IMN movement and Nigerian troops.
Nearly 350 members of the Shia movement were killed in the clashes. The sheikh was brutally injured and his house was reportedly destroyed by the army in the incident.
After detaining Zakzaky, the Nigerian government stepped up its crackdown on the IMN. In November, nearly 100 IMN supporters were killed when Nigerian forces fired live rounds and teargas at mourners during a peaceful march ahead of the Arba’een mourning rituals, which mark 40 days after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), the third Shia imam. Authorities also destroyed a number of buildings belonging to the IMN.

Politics / #el-zakzaky:judiciary Must Save Nigerians From Tyranny-fayose by RICHIFA14(m): 1:32pm On Dec 03, 2016
El-Zakzaky: Judiciary must save Nigerians from tyranny, says Fayose
ON December 2, 2016 6:47 PM / IN
News / Comments
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has hailed the Federal High Court, Abuja judgement, ordering the release of the leader of the Shi’ite Muslim sect, Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife, as well as payment of payment of N50 million damages awarded against the Department of
State Service (DSS).
The governor, who had called for the release of El-Zakzaky two weeks ago, however said he won’t be surprised if the federal government does not obey the judgment, adding that; “The judgement will be for posterity even if in their usual style of impunity, those holding
power in Abuja ignore the judgment.”
He called on men of the judiciary to save democracy in Nigeria as well as Nigerians from tyranny by being courageous and firm even in the face of intimidation, harassment, blackmail and character assassination by those whose desire is to muscle opposition and turn
Nigeria to as one party state.
In a statement issued on Friday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose reiterated his earlier call on the International Criminal Court (ICC), Amnesty International and other world bodies to investigate extra
judicial killings in the country in the last 15 months, especially the murder of over 300 Shi’ite Muslims in Zaria and killing of over 150 Biafra activists.

He said under international human rights law governing the use of firearms during policing operations, the intentional use of lethal force is only permitted when strictly unavoidable, to protect life.
Governor Fayose noted that the detention since last year December, of El-Sakzaky, after the murder of over 300 of his followers was inhuman and wicked, saying; “the DSS claim that El-Sakzaky was being detained to protect him is not only laughable but barbaric. How can you keep someone in detention for 12 months and claim that you are protecting him? Against what?”
The governor, who described the APC led federal government as law breaker, noted that “the kind of impunity against the law of Nigeria being witnessed now has never happened before. Even the military still obeyed court judgements but here we are with a democratically elected government that holds our constitution with contempt.”
“I congratulate Justice Gabriel Kolawole and the entire judiciary for once against giving Nigerians hope that democracy can still survive and rule of law can still be sustained.
“The judiciary must remain steadfast in its uphold of the rule of law, so as to save Nigerians who are now being held by the jugular by those who do not want anyone that is not in the same political camp with them to exist,” he said.

Politics / Obey Court To #free Zakzaky by RICHIFA14(m): 12:47pm On Dec 03, 2016
PRESS RELEASE: OBEY COURT ORDER, FREE THE ISLAMIC MOVEMENT OF NIGERIA (IMN) LEADER IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY AND OTHERS, THE NIGERIAN WAILERS TELLS BUHARI AND THE DSS.

We call on the Federal Government of Nigeria, (FGN) led by the President Muhammadu Buhari and the Department of Security Service, (DSS) to release the leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) Mr. Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and others with immediate effect.

The court, an Abuja Judicial Division of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, on Friday the 2nd of December, 2016, gave an order for the release of the leader of the Shi’a Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

Mr. El-Zakzaky was arrested by the military on the 14th of December, 2015, after the Nigerian army interrupted their peaceful procession along Zaria which led to a shooting by the Nigerian security forces.

The army killed at least 450 members of the group and hurriedly buried them in a mass grave in Kaduna State which is a very barbaric and sadistic act of any government that should protect the lives and properties of her citizens.

Mr. El-Zakzaky approached the court to demand his release, months after he was arrested without being charged to Court.

The Court declared that his arrest and continued detention violated his fundamental rights as a peaceful, law abiding citizen of Nigeria who has never been linked with any violent or terrorist acts.

Delivering the Ruling in Abuja Court, the Hon. Justice Gabriel Kolawole, rejected the submission of the counsel to the State Security Service, Tijjani Gazali, that Mr. El-Zakzaky was kept in protective custody of the SSS.

Mr. El-Zakzaky or his family members never requested to be kept in protective custody, but, the Buhari's Government, in the exhibition and demonstration of lawlessness and flagrant flaunting and violation of the laws of the land, the Nigerian law, detained him without him being charged to court.

We opine that the decision to incaserate the Islamic cleric and his wife for their safety is unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional, where it is not voluntarily requested by them. IMN Members, Nigerians and International bodies have been demanding that Mr. Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his family be released unconditionally.

For general knowledge and fact, you can only detain and keep a terrorist who is dangerous to his community or a nation in Protective custody to prevent them from harming other people. In the case of Zakzaky, he is not a terrorist, he is a law abiding citizen of Nigeria who is minding his business without violating the laws of the land. The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, (as amended) guarantees freedom of association which Islamic Movement of Nigeria also enjoy.

The people of Nigeria can still recall that this present government benefited and enjoyed the support of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria to which President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State Governor, Mr Nasir Elrufai were both seen in pictures with Shiite leaders before the 2015 elections.

We now wonder why he is being treated inhumanly, with disdain and disgust. The barbaric decision by this government to incaserate him for so long is of great danger and it is alien to the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, which is the grundnorm and the Supreme law of the land, and in which the fundamental rights of the citizens of the nation Nigeria is enshrined and entrenched. The dastardly acts of this government and the flagrant violations of Nigerian Laws and the Orders of the Honourable Court poses a dangerous threat to our democracy, and in fact the rape of democracy .

The Government is bound to obey the decisions and the Orders of the court given by Hon. Justice Gabriel Kolawole, that the government should within 45 days release the Mr. ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his family to the police, who shall within 24 hours take them, guarded by escort, to a safe place without any further rearrest.

Nigeria is a democratic nation governed by laws which is above the personal wishes of any person no matter how highly placed. We must uphold the tenets of our democracy to the hilt and at all time. We must vehemently condemn the support of anyone who violates the tenets of democracy.

We therefore, call on all well-meaning Nigerians and leaders around the world for the sake of the survival and sustenance of our painfully earned democracy that must prevail over President Buhari and his DSS, and in upholding the Rule of Law, cause the Government to obey the order of the Court, as in the case of Mr Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and others and set them free from Incaseration, as ruled by the of court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria.

Politics / Nigeria: When The President Become A Liar by RICHIFA14(m): 10:03am On Dec 02, 2016
Nigeria: When the President become a Liar
“Investors are falling over themselves to come and do business in Nigeria” -President Buhari
1st October 2016 marked the 56th year anniversary of Nigerian independence from British colonialism and as its customary the Leader of the country addressed the country to commemorate such important occasion. This year President Buhari addressed the nation but his speech was full of questions instead of addressing Nigerian problems.
The above excerpt quotation was from the speech and all Nigerians knows that what the President said was not correct. Investors are not trooping into Nigeria at the moment, infact investors are leaving Nigeria due to the bad state of the economy. The Nigerian economy is in deep recession and the pilots of the economy are responsible but the same pilots are using Clerics in Northern Nigeria to deceive the masses that God is to be blame for their plight. If the economy is healthy and developing these people would have praise President Buhari but now that the economy is bad and in recession they are blaming God!
In his Independence Day speech President Buhari also said that his government had defeated the Boko Haram insurgency last December. Nigerians especially those in Northeast know that this is not true. Nigerians are still attack, kill and maimed in the Northeast to this day.
What actually happened in Nigeria last December was the inhuman Zaria massacre of IMN members that was ordered by President Buhari to serve a foreign imperialist agenda that has the Saudi Wahhabi regime as a front. More than one thousand Nigerians that included women, children and the aged were brutally murdered by the Nigerian army in less than 48 hours and their death bodies dumped in mass graves. The Saudi King immediately called President Buhari to congratulate him. President Buhari tried to defend the massacre at the earliest period but he is now trying to distance himself from it since the world had rejected their narration and condemned the inhuman massacre.
The Buhari administration is turning out to be the biggest catastrophe in the history of Nigeria. President Buhari ignorantly assumed that if he is loyal to Western imperialism then they will grant him all his wishes. He should have studied the life of former Iraqi despot Saddam Hussein and his relationship with Western imperialism. One day the same West will deliver Buhari and his murderous gang to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for their role in the Zaria massacre.
The true Nigerian situation is that the economy is in a very bad state, people are dying of hunger, inflation is high, unemployment is high, suicidal rate have increase and the Nigerian currency is freely falling against the US dollars. Nigeria today needs a responsible leader who will face these challenges and addressed these problems and not a President who will be lying to them.
On a last note, I want to remind President Buhari that God is just and will surely punish all those who mass-murdered His servants and dumped their bodies in mass graves. To all Nigerians ” Happy Independence Day anniversary!”

Politics / A Joint Force Of Police &thugs Attack Shiites In Kaduna Again by RICHIFA14(m): 11:35pm On Oct 15, 2016
A joint force of Police and thugs attack Shiites in Kaduna again
Posted by Khalid Idris on Saturday, 15 October 2016
Following the recent announcement by the Kaduna state government condemning the aon Shiites by sponsored thugs during the annual Ashura commemoration, members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) in Kaduna decided to clean up the Islamic Center at Zango Road Tudun Wada, Kaduna.
Just as they were busy washing the vandalized center, hired thugs carrying cutlasses swords and sticks launched an attack on them in the presence of police who did not make any attempt to stop them. Not less than ten IMN members were seriously injured with deep cuts.
An eye witness confirmed that one IMN member was killed in his presence during the attack and the police took the corpse away.
The hired thugs reassembled carrying dangerous weapons and were escorted by the police where they went to Unguwan Muazu, a close by neighborhood, and attacked houses and shops of IMN members where they looted property worth millions. They injured a young lady with sharp objects in one of the houses they attacked.
A section of the IMN’s Fudiyya Primary School at Unguwan Muazu was also demolished by the hired thugs.
The hired thugs cheered the police who were in more than 15 vehicles as they moved on to the next community Kinkinau where they also attacked some selected IMN members houses.
The entourage was made up of the thugs led by two notable Salafist scholars in Kaduna and were chanting “no more Shia”.
Meanwhile, there has not been any statement from the Kaduna state government on the recent attack.
Earlier, the IMN members were attacked on Wednesday by a combined team of Police, Army, Civil Defense and hired thugs in Kaduna, Funtua, Kano, Jos and Sokoto towns where 17 IMN members were killed, scores injured and over three hundred arrested.
Islamic centers and schools were also demolished by the team and
properties worth millions were also destroyed.
Following the incident, Plateau state government also announced the banning of the IMN activities in the state as did the Kaduna state government earlier.

Politics / Buhari Responsible For The Deaths Of Over 1,000 -adeyanju by RICHIFA14(m): 11:04am On Oct 14, 2016
BUHARI RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATHS OF OVER 1,000 -Adeyanju
By Adeeko Kehinde

1. Wednesday’s brutal attacks on Shiite Muslims in Kaduna, Katsina and Plateau States corroborate the assertion that Nigeria is at its most fractured state – politically, socio-economically, ethnically & religiously – since the Civil War.

2.  These attacks by murderous mobs were predictable in the wake by the recent proscription of Shiite Islam by the administrations of Kaduna, Katsina and Kebbi States, as well as the blatant refusal of the Federal Government to sanction any of the officers culpable for mass murder of 347 Shiite Muslims in December 2015 (official figures, although the figures are believed to be significantly higher).

3. The fact that the men of the Nigerian Military as well as Nigerian Police Force gave security cover to the murderous mobs as these attacks were carried out is very worrisome.

4.  It is even more worrisome that while giving an address yesterday regarding the attacks by Boko Haram in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital, President Muhammadu Buhari was completely silent about the attacks on Shiite Muslims in Kano, Kaduna and Katsina States during which a high number of casualties were recorded and property worth hundreds of millions of Naira were recorded.

5. The combination of these facts leads to the inescapable conclusion that these attacks were sponsored and promoted by the Nigerian State at the Federal & State levels.

6. It also difficult to escape the conclusion of that this onslaught is an internalization of the conflict between Sunni and Shiite Muslims from the Middle East, even if one does not know the objective its promoters seeks to achieve.

7.  It is sad that our country and its leaders have failed to learn from the cycles of violence and repression that led to the creation of the Maitatsine Sect in the late 70s and early 80s; and the more recent creation of the terrorism group – Boko Haram.

8. As much as one is mindful of the “infractions” of the Shiite Sect in Zaria, the solution cannot be a resort to state sponsored violence and the extra-judicial mob murder of hundreds of people.

9. What is worse is that while the murders of Shiites in December 2015 was justified by an asinine reference to Shiites“…touching the chests of generals” there is no justification for these recent acts of aggression and terror. Nothing but mindless violence.

10. The decision of the Buhari administration to use force as a one size fits all solution to every challenge or act of opposition is slowly but surely leading Nigeria to the brink of collapse.

11. At this point, it is the duty of all well meaning Nigerians to call the Federal Government and the governments of Kano, Katsina,Kaduna and Kebbi States to order. The rights to freedom of religion and peaceful assembly are inalienable rights guaranteed by Sections 38 and 40 of the Constitution and upheld by the Supreme Court in a plethora of cases.

12. It is also necessary for all Nigerians to urge the Federal Government to realise that the use of force is not a panacea to all the issues that plague Nigeria. The use of brute force to repress ideologies has failed in Nigeria, and in the past has led to the creation of monsters such as the above referenced Maitatsine Sect and Boko Haram.

13. God bless Nigeria.

Deji Adeyanju

CDD condemns attack on Shiite
By Abbas Jimoh |
The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) has condemned Wednesday’s attack on members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) also known as the Shiite sect.
The Director of the centre Idayat Hassan said yesterday in statement that the clashes between the sect members, security agents and some Nigerians leading to scores being killed is unwarranted to prevent opening to another conflict front.
She said that among the reported reasons for the attacks was the commemoration of a religious rite called “Ashura”, which involves processional marches.
“Over the years, these processions have been done peacefully in many parts of the country. This year, however, there were concerted attempts by both security agencies and other Islamic groups to stop them.
The Order, which came into operation on 7th October, 2016 declares that: “the Society that bears the name, style, guise or nomenclature of the “Islamic Movement in Nigeria”, is hereby declared an Unlawful Society in Kaduna State.” Hassan said.
She said the new law by the Kaduna State Government has been a trigger that unleashed these attacks on members of the Shiite community across the country.
“It is estimated that there are about three million members of this religious community all over the country and it is very irresponsible for a State Government to proscribe their operations. One of the most dangerous acts is for members of a religious community to believe that their religious freedom to exercise their faith according to their belief is curtailed.
“It is important to note that the leader of the movement Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky has been in detention with his wife since December last year with no charges filed against them. His followers have been demanding for his release and the DSS has responded that they are holding him for his safety,” Hassan added.
She said that members of the IMN have however claimed that the government is trying to kill their leader.
“It appears that there is an attempt to push the Shiites in Nigeria to popular revolt. We have enough insurgencies and violent conflicts in Nigeria and the CDD appeals to authorities and the civil populace to beware of pushing our country to more violent conflicts.”

IMN accuses 5 state govts of attacking members

By Maryam Ahmadu-Suka, Kaduna | Publish Date: Oct 14 2016 2:00AM

The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) has accused the governments of Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto states of using collection of security agents and operatives to launch attacks on its members.

The Shi’ites in a statement by the President of the Media Forum of the Movement, Ibrahim Musa, said, “The governments of Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto states, using an amalgamation of security agents and operatives turned Wednesday 12-10-16 from what could have been a peaceful day for commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of the benevolent grandson of the Prophet, into another mourning day.  These security operatives unleashed on members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) the worst forms of state-sponsored terror tactics ever known, through a well-designed plot involving arson, butchery, murder and unwarranted arrests of IMN members in their states.”

In another development, Islamic leaders and Imams in Kaduna have condemned the Wednesday clash between youths and members of the Shi’a sect Kaduna, where three people were killed.

The Imams at a press briefing jointly addressed by Sheik Yusuf Sambo Rigachikun of the Izala sect and Sheik Umar Suleiman at Sultan Bello Mosque urged youths and other residents of Kaduna to embrace peace and harmonious co-existence.
They blamed both the youths and the members of the Shi’ites movement for the clash, saying what was expected of Muslims on Ashura day is fasting and not demonstration and procession which led to the clash.

Shiites Gathering In Kaduna Get Surrounded By Soldiers
October 12, 2016 • By Yinka Agunbiade

Following the Kaduna State Government ban on activities of Shiites in the state, soldiers have been reported to have surrounded a gathering of Shiite Muslims in the state with worshippers trapped inside.

Today marks an important holiday for Shiites, Ashura, which marks the death of Imam Hussein, a grandson of the Muslim prophet Muhammad, who was murdered in present day Iraq in the seventh century.

A UK-based Islamic Human Rights Commission claimed on Tuesday that worshippers gathered at the Kaduna Markaz mosque on Zango Road to commemorate historical events significant in the Shia calendar, shortly before it was encircled by armoured military vehicles carrying heavily armed soldiers.

The group called on the Nigerian government to withdraw the soldiers and allow the worshippers to continue to exercise their constitutional right to freedom of assembly and worship.

However, Premium Times reported a witness saying the standoff was occurred at the residence of a senior Shi’a leader, Muhtar Sahabi, and not a Mosque.

According to the witness, dozens of armed soldiers and mobile police officers surrounded the compound and were waiting for those gathered inside to leave.

soldiers surround Shiites gathering in Kaduna

He said some women and children who started coming out were sent back by the soldiers, adding that it appeared the soldiers wanted to make arrests following the recent ban.

The Shiites have been at loggerheads with the Nigerian Army and government ever since a clash that occurred December 2015.

Their leader El-Zakzaky is still in detention without any court order.

Religion / This Is What Will End Buhari-say Pastor P.b.elijah Ayodele by RICHIFA14(m): 11:24pm On Sep 17, 2016
'Buhari's end will not be good, it will troubleshoot'

Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele has warned President Muhammadu Buhari that his end will not be good if he does not find a way to end the present economic challenges facing the country.
In an exclusive interview with NAIJ.com, the revered prophet who recently predicted the outcome of the fast-approaching American presidential election , told our correspondent that Nigeria needs serious prayers to survive this recession.
Primate Ayodele who spoke at the Isolo home of his INRI Evangelistic church, also predicted the outcome of the governorship election in Edo state, Ghana, among other sundry issues.
Edo election will be won by the All Progressives Congress (APC), although he believes that the PDP has a stronger candidate.
Edo elections
The Edo election, the point is this… to be honest, as a lay man, not being spiritual now, with the kind of governance in the state, PDP has a good candidate. But as God will have it, APC will take it.
In Ondo state…
I don’t know the person they picked in Ondo state, but the only way APC can win in Ondo state is if they pick the right candidate, the choice of the people… that is the only way they can win. Otherwise, PDP will retain Ondo state.
Ghana elections
Before the Burkina Faso election, we said that the incumbent would retain the post, but the point is that there would be violence. It’s in our book titled ‘Warnings to the Nations’. Honestly, the opposition party has a very vibrant candidate, but the have to restrategise to be able to unseat the incumbent.
During Jonathan’s era, we said there were only two things that would make him win the election; to eradicate the First Lady’s office and that he should look for the Chibok girls. I even said it in 2013 that Jonathan should step down.
America elections
America election which is the serious one that everybody is awaiting, (Donald) Trump will rock Hillary (Clinton) with scandals and blackmail but she has to retrace her steps in order to win that election. Trump is ready to take over from the incumbent president but Hillary must wake up.
Hillary’s health needs prayers, and she must restrategise; that’s the only way she can win America’s election otherwise it will go to Trump. And there are states that Hillary must work on very well; New Jersey, Wisconsin, Philadelphia, Houston and Ohio so that Trump will not turn the whole thing upside down. And Hillary’s health is very important.
Hillary Clinton should work on New Jersey, Wisconsin, Philadelphia, Houston and Ohio so that Donald Trump will not overrun her in the forthcoming election.
Earth tremor in Kaduna
The issue is not over… I said since 2013 that Nigerians should pray against national disaster and many thought it would be ocean surge and this year February, we asked the people to pray against earthquake in Nigeria and we still need to pray against another one. Forget about the excuses being given that it was caused by mining, it is not mining, God is angry with Nigeria and unless we do the right thing, if care is not taken, this country will collapse.
We will not be the Nigeria as we are today again in the future or we return to regional system of government.
Buhari
He will find it very difficult to rule this country because he has a very good intention but the people surrounding him are not helping him at all.
Should he step down?
Err… as he is going, if he thinks he cannot finish this term (interruption) but he will not get his second term, that’s just it. Second term Buhari is dicey, because this economy is facing what I will call economic tumor because tumor is s problem in human system and he has not addressed it. Why do you put a lawyer to head your economic team? Is that not wrong? He should use the people who know about the economy to handle it. I don’t know if they advised him to do that, though, but that advice is destructive, besides you cannot fight corruption because your administration has been corrupted as well and people who are corrupt are in the system. I have said it that corruption will fight Buhari and the House has proved it, that padding is not corruption; it has been in the system for a very long time.
Jonathan said stealing is not corruption and Buhari’s government is also saying that padding is not corruption. Tell me, how many people have been jailed? EFCC is trying its best, they will recover these monies but at the end of the day, Magu’s efforts will not be appreciated. Go and mark it down! The guy is sincere but he is having a lot of challenges and he will not be able to say it; that’s what God revealed to me.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) should change their logo before they can bounce back.
Obasanjo’s recent ‘activities’ with the PDP
I don’t know anything about that, but I know that PDP has been cursed. Except they change their logo, refurbish their logo, rebrand it and pray; that’s when PDP can come back.
The National Assembly is still going to break. I said something, that except (Bukola) Saraki (Senate president) does what is right, he will be removed and he has done what is right so those fighting him might not get it right.
A lot of things are wrong with the government, a lot of things are wrong with the system, the president doesn’t understand what he is doing anymore. The economy is collapsed and we are seeing how it is going now. CBN doesn’t even understand the economy, the person at the helm of affairs is confused so Nigeria needs a lot of prayers and unless we can declare public holidays for three days and there should be inter religious fasting and prayer, there may not be an end to these issues because Nigeria is cursed.
Nigeria has been cursed since the time of Abubakakr Tafawa Balewa. Do you know what happened to the man? When the man wanted to pray, that was when they brought him out and they shot him. Awolowo… there’s a lot of curse and if these curses are not reversed, there are still going to be ups and downs.
People are saying dollar has risen to N400, it will still come to N500, petroleum will still be scarce, and the price will continue to fluctuate because I don’t see the government that Buhari stabilised.
Dollar will still rise to N500 from what it is presently. The president should declare a three-day interdenominational fasting and prayer to avert the crisis in the nation.
Niger Delta Avengers:
Buhari should dialogue with them. Honestly, this problem might somersault the country, let our security agents be very careful. I see another explosive, killing unnecessarily. On the global scene, I see religion causing problem and it is still coming back to cause problems in Nigeria.
The only way to avert this is by having a three-day interdenominational prayer for the country. I am not saying they should call me, I am not the one who will organise it; they should just declare three days fasting and prayers.
Buhari’s end is not good, his end will troubleshoot. Mark it down, and note. We need prayers because economic hardship is not over yet, they have not gotten a solution to the economic troubles.
Let’s pray we don’t lose an elder statesman in the country, we need prayer. PENGASSAN will go on strike and these Niger Delta people will still cause more problems. We need prayers to survive and God to help us.

*Fundamental Flaws Inherent In The Judicial Panel Of Enquiry Into Zaria Shiite Genocide In Nigeria*

By Republic Reporters New York

2016/09/13

In line with our three core advocacy objectives of ensuring at all times that human rights are extensively made accessible to their holders/owners; protective for victims of their violations; and accountability of the State and non-State actors over the perpetration and commission of human rights abuses and other regime atrocities, irrespective of class, religion, tribe or sex; it is our (Intersociety) firm declaration that the Judicial Panel of Enquiry set up in January 2016 by the Government of Kaduna State to look into the so called “Army-Shiite Clash” (Shiite Genocide) of December 12-14, 2015 in Zaria, Kaduna State; is nothing but an act of uselessness and effort in futility. Fundamental flaws inherent in the Panel’s constitution, composition, legal status, procedures, proceedings, outcomes and enforceability are also basket-loaded.
To set the records straight, there was no clash between the soldiers and members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) on 12th of December 2015, but purely a premeditated and well coordinated State terror and genocide. Even the kangaroo Kaduna State Judicial Panel of Enquiry admitted that “one army corporal was lynched while at least 347 corpses of members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria were massacred by soldiers in the presence of its COAS and buried in mass graves”. Till date, there is no evidence of violent uprising or mob-violence targeted at the Nigerian Army or the convoy of its COAS, Lt Gen Turkur Buratai by the Islamic Movement on the said date. Same is the case in the IPOB and its associates peaceful assemblies and jubilation matches of 30th of August, 2nd December and 17th December of 2015 in Onitsha as well as those of 18th of January, 29th of January, 9th of February and 30th of May 2016 in Aba, Nkpor, Onitsha and Asaba in which as much 250 unarmed and defenceless activists were massacred with over 400 terminally shot, battered or lacerated. The perpetrators of these two genocides are still on the prowl as we speak.
It is recalled that the genocidal massacre was carried out on December 12, 2015 in the presence of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Turkur Buratai and his convoy leading to massacre of hundreds of Shiite members on the spot. The Shiite members were performing their annual faith processions, using a major road in Zaria, leading to heavy human traffic, which slowed down vehicular movements including the convoy of the COAS, Lt General Turkur Buratai. The massacre was repeated on December 14, 2015 at the Shiite headquarters in Zaria during which hundreds of other Shiite members were massacred, their headquarters raised and their leader, Mallam Ibraheem El-Zakzaky shot, battered and abducted till date. A lot of 809 Shiite members were killed or made to disappear till date, according to detailed statistics and pictorial evidence released by the Sect. The Government of Kaduna State later admitted burring 347 corpses in mass graves.
The Panel of Enquiry under reference totally lacks local contents and fundamental ingredients of enforceability and applicability. It is also procedurally blundered, culprit-escapist and an enemy-visitor to two fundamental foundations of the rule of law: nemo judex in sua causa (nobody should be a judge in his or her own case or cause) and audi alteram partem (listen to the other side or let the other side be heard as well). It must be clearly stated that panels of enquiry generally speaking, are nothing more than fire brigade approaches and soft landings for culprits. In most cases, they end up creating hyper-victimization.
Perpetrators of regime atrocities recklessly use Panels of Enquiry to escape criminal responsibilities and where any of them is rarely indicted; their white papers are hardly implemented or enforced by the constituting authorities. Panels of Enquiry are also holistically State-actor arrangements; designed in such a way that the same human butchers and human rights abusers are invited to right their own wrongs and sit over judgments in the same regime atrocities they are suspects or committers, either vicariously or individually.
Therefore, in the case of the Kaduna State Government Judicial Panel of Enquiry under reference, headed by one Justice Muhammad Lawal-Garba, which had sat and wound up, the following grave flaws abound in its constitution, composition, legal status, procedures, proceedings, outcomes and enforceability: (a) the Kaduna State Government, which constituted it is vicariously an interested and culpable party (a grave violation of the principle of nemo judex in sua causa); (b) the victim-group (Shiite Muslim Sect or Islamic Movement of Nigeria) and its leadership was never represented or heard (a grave violation of the principle of audi alteram partem);(c) its leader, Mallam Ibraheem, El-Zak-Zaky was shot, battered and lacerated and thrown into illegal, unconstitutional, solitary and incommunicado detention running into its eight month without trial (a grave violation of the 1999 Constitution and the Fundamental Human Rights Principles and Procedures).
Others are: (d) the law under which the judicial panel of enquiry was set up is the law of Kaduna State or a State law, which is inferior to federal law; (e) procedurally, the law of a State (i.e. Kaduna State) and its sanction codes is rarely enforceable against the federal authorities (i.e. army and its COAS) and where a State law is in conflict with a federal law, the latter subsists and the former disappears instantly (see Section 4(5) of the 1999 Constitution); (f) the persons and institution (Nigerian Army and its COAS) responsible for the genocide do not belong to the Government of Kaduna State, but to the Federal Government of Nigeria; (g) the judicial panel of enquiry under reference was solely designed to exonerate certain sacred cows or hit men of the Presidency (i.e. Lt General Turkur Buratai) and hang culpable ropes around certain sacrificial lambs such as the GOC, 1st Mechanized Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major Gen Adeniyi Oyebade; (h) the judicial panel of enquiry can never address judicially and satisfactorily the regime atrocities above mentioned or bring their perpetrators to criminal accountability or ensure adequate justice for the victims and the society wronged and despaired; (i) the judicial panel of enquiry did not apply the rule of law in its procedures and proceedings.
The rest are: (j) the judicial panel of enquiry was a desperate attempt by the authorities of the Federal Government and the Government of Kaduna State to ensure that perpetrators under their service and appointment escape international justice and culpability by attempting to manipulate the internationally existing principle of complimentarity, which instantly invokes international justice attentions and sanctions against the culprits where it is found that the Federal authorities in Nigeria are clearly unable and unwilling to apprehend the culprits and bring them to internationally standardized justice.

And (k) under the international laws including international customary, criminal, humanitarian, statute and human rights laws; the principle of complimentarity (i.e. ability and willingness of a UN Member-State to municipally address heinous crimes or grave regime atrocities and hold their perpetrators accountable), a mere setting up of judicial or political panels of enquiry by any UN Member-State in response to heinous crimes or regime atrocities so committed such as the above mentioned; is not in any way amounted to adhering strictly to the sacred principle of willingness and ability of a UN Member-State, rather, it is expressly factored into that of unwillingness and inability to act.
We hereby reject the outcomes of the Kangaroo Judicial Panel of Enquiry under reference, particularly its deliberate attempt to shift criminal responsibilities off the neck of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Turkur Buratai. It is baffling as how a subordinate officer will be made a sacrificial lamb in a genocidal operation carried out in full presence and operational seal of his Chief of (Army) Staff. The Kangaroo Judicial Panel of Enquiry and its constituting authority: the Government of Kaduna State must also tell Nigerians and members of the international community whether the COAS, Lt Gen Turkur Buratai was sleeping or in a comma when the genocide took place. Assuming the COAS was drunk during the genocide, he is still criminally liable (i.e. manslaughter) as well as professionally liable for gross breach of soldiering code of conduct. The COAS remains number one culprit in the genocide anytime any day.
Good a thing, such a genocidal act is not statute bared or does not have time limits. There is no amount of presidential protection or evidence destruction or threats that will make all perpetrators of regime atrocities under the Buhari administration in Nigeria to escape justice over heinous crimes they committed. The global advocacy watch is already centered and beamed at all times in the direction of all of them particularly the duo of former IGP, Solomon Arase and the COAS, Lt Gen Turkur Buratai. Not even a thousand NGO and media image launderers so recruited can save them. The spirits of over 1000 murdered innocent citizens under their operational watch and directives have since been invoked to visit their spiritual wraths against them without time bound.

Politics / Buratai Should Resigned Or You Sack Him-falana To Buhari by RICHIFA14(m): 7:20am On Jul 11, 2016
Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), on Sunday urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, if the army chief fails to voluntarily resign following the revelation that he purchased properties worth $1.5m in Dubai.
Falana said in a statement that despite Buratai’s commendable feat of leading the Nigerian Army to defeat Boko Haram in the North East, the war on corruption was also a must-win for the Buhari Administration.
The lawyer described as a “cock and bull story” the explanation by the Nigerian Army authorities that Buratai paid for the properties in installments through his personal savings.
He regretted that the name of the Nigerian Army had been “illegally” used to defend Buratai in the unfolding scam.
While he condemned the involvement of the Nigerian Army in defending Buratai, he said no one had yet to explain to Nigerians how an army General could manage to save $1.5m.
He added, “In view of the ban on the opening and operation of foreign accounts by public officers, the Code of Conduct Bureau should be involved in the investigation.
“If the Chief of Army Staff does not deem it fit to resign forthwith President Buhari should not hesitate to remove him in the interest of national morality.”
Falana commended the Buhari Administration for how it has handled cases involving military officers allegedly involved in the diversion of the sum of $15bn meant for procurement of arms.
The diversion of the fund, he explained allowed the Boko Haram insurgents to kill about 25,000 Nigerians and displace two million others, including children.
He also said since the administration had assured Nigerians that there would be no sacred cow in the fight against corruption, Buratai should step down and allow a full scale scale investigation by the Arms Procurement Panel and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

More Details Emerge On Nigeria Chief Of Army Staff General Buratai’s Dubai Properties
An ongoing investigation by SaharaReporters into properties acquired in Dubai by Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Tukur Buratai, has revealed more details about the officer’s real estate acquisitions estimated at N160 million at the minimum. Our investigators found out that, when not occupied by General Buratai or members of his family, the units he acquired in Dubai are rented out to guests for as much as $500 a night.
Earlier investigative reports by SaharaReporters found that, as the Director of Procurement at the Defense Headquarters, General Buratai diverted funds meant for the purchase of vehicles and motorcycles for Nigerian troops involved in the fight against Boko Haram terrorists. Our reliable sources in the military revealed that the COAS colluded with a front, a businessman, to procure used vehicles that were in such bad shape that they needed to be significantly refurbished before they could
be used.
Documents obtained by our investigators showed that, on January 13th, 2013, General Buratai reached an agreement to purchase unit “2711” at the TGF Marina Hotel. Our investigative team found that the purchase, which the COAS claimed was an investment through the “Project TFG Marina Hotel,” was completely paid for in one transaction. Eventually, the TGF Marina changed its name to “The Wyndham Dubai Marina.”
Our latest investigations reveal that General Buratai paid The First Group Real Estate for his first real estate acquisition through a Skye Bank account in Nigeria.
General Buratai purchased the second apartment days after becoming the Chief of Army Staff through a Skye Bank account as well. However, this time, he used an army officer, Major Emmanuel G. Adegbola of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps (N/10808), to make several deposits for the second Dubai real estate purchase.
Military sources told SaharaReporters that the COAS stole the funds from Nigerian Army Accounts. One source said it was a well-known practice for senior army officers to use their subordinate officers to pilfer defense funds, adding that the practice took root during the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. Numerous military chiefs who served under Mr. Jonathan have been indicted for corruption and are facing trial.
Major Adegbola’s payments into the TFG Sigma 111 account in Nigeria (Skye Bank 1770380452) show that, between July 24 and August 17, 2015, General Buratai paid a total sum of N42.2 million to the company.
Documents obtained exclusively by SaharaReporters reveal that, through Major Adegbola, General Buratai paid N10 million on July 24 and N10 million on August 7, 2015.
Three days later, the COAS paid another N10 million for the property, with the telephone number on the Skye Bank teller reading as 08033349740. The phone number belongs to Major Adegbola. Again on August 17, 2015, the Chief of Army Staff paid N3.2 million into the account.
The First Group, which sold the Dubai properties to General Buratai, is a UK real estate development company, but with many international offices, including ones in Abuja, Lagos, and Ghana. On its website, TFG offers potential clients the opportunity to be part of the company’s “exclusive investment property owners’ club” where TFG will “provide you with much more than amazing real estate and lucrative returns.” The site adds that “ownership with us gives you instant membership to our prestigious club and access to a world of exciting rewards and privileges, from fast cash returns and investment property credit to fully paid Dubai holidays.”
In addition to these enticing offers, TFG also offers clients a copy of their Hotel Investment Guide for Dubai. According to the investment guide “one of the major advantages Dubai offers investors is a tax-free environment” with “zero local corporate or personal tax.” The investment guide also directly focuses on the financial returns from owning units in the Wyndham Dubai Marina, stating that the properties were “ideally positioned to generate the strongest possible returns for investors.”
According to a digital news source, Emerites 24/7, in 2015 the “gross and rental returns in Dubai Marina were 8.1 percent and 7.16 percent.” Subsequent investigations by SaharaReporters have found that General Buratai’s unit, when not occupied by him or his family, is rented out to hotel patrons for around $500 per night.
According to a hotel employee with knowledge of ownership and unit rentals, a room on the 27th floor of the Wyndham Dubai Marina could range from $463 to around $500 per night. The hotel employee told SaharaReporters that the cost would depend on public demand and availability of rooms in the hotel.
SaharaReporters also found that the hotel has varying degrees of luxury for units ranging from junior suites, grand rooms, superior rooms, and club rooms. One hotel employee explained to SaharaReporters that, often, the higher the floor the more expensive the unit with “the most luxury being in the club rooms.” This same employee said that many of the units on the 27th floor are considered “superior rooms” which are just below club room in terms of luxury.

Nigerians are in pain,Buharia lost popularity-Oyegun
09 July 2016

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has admitted that since Muhammadu Buhari became the President of Nigeria, the people have been living in pain.
He also admitted that Buhari's popularity, since the 2015 general elections, has diminished drastically.
“All governments worldwide in between terms lose some degree of popularity; no question about that,” oyegun told Punch.
“We are having harsh economic times, no question about that and that does not increase the popularity of any government. It only diminishes it to some extent. What is different is that, in our case, in spite of the harsh economic realities, the people still have full confidence, trust.”
“I think that is the proper word, in President Buhari, that he will do his very best to improve their lot and I think the proof of that was the reaction to the threatened strikes by the labour unions. You can see that even though people are unhappy, they refused to come out because they understood.”
“They are in pain but they understood why the pain was there and they trusted the President that he was doing everything within his power to ameliorate their pain. So yes, there is a lot of grumbling all over the place, but also there is a lot of trust in Mr. President”, he said.
Oyegen also touched on internal crisis the APC is having in states like Kano, Bayelsa and Kogi.
“In vevery case, we are making progress. Bayelsa should be concluded in a matter of weeks. Kano is basically a personality thing and we’ve got everybody to sheathe their swords for now.”
“And I think that has happened. Kano has cooled off. We also have issues in Kogi State which we are also attending to. That is the only way you know a government that is in power.”
“If we were in opposition, there won’t be skirmishes in these states because there would be nothing to skirmish over but since we are in power, people are still struggling for relative importance within the system with an eye on tomorrow.”
“These things are normal, they are expected but we’ve developed that habit of democratic consultation and reconciliation and it is working”, he added.

The Goals & Objectives of IMN

It is important to note that the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) under the leadership of His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky is not a Shia organization in Nigeria and other West African counties. Spreading Shia Islam is not among the goals and objectives of IMN as the Movement rejects sectarianism. The Movement accepted all the school of thoughts of Islam and believes that Muslims should be allow the freedom of choosing the school of thought they want to belong.

IMN is a Movement whose main objective is Islamic Awakening, the Awakening of dead souls from slumber from the Dream State to the Awaken State. And this Awakening is not only limited to Muslims as Islam is a message to humanity. The target audience of IMN is the whole of humanity and that is why IMN is the only Islamic organization in Nigeria that invites Christian leaders to its programs and activities. Even if a person is a non-Muslim Awakening is important as such a person should be conscious of the devilish schemes and machinations of the New World Order (NWO) that comprises Western imperialism and Global Zionism.

One unfortunate condition of some world oppressed is that they ended up been the tools of the NWO who are their wicked oppressors. This is why Islamic Awakening is very important. It is part of this Awakening that prompted the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei to write his first historic Letter to the youths of Europe and North America after the murderous Paris attacks. And when the need arised later he wrote a second Letter to those youths. I humbly wrote ten (10) footnotes to those two Letters of Ayatollah Khamenei and some of them were published in some Iranian websites after translating them to Persian.

Another objective of Awakening is to produce upright and righteous components of the society that will serve the cause of humanity. There are various currents in our societies today, one of those currents is driving people especially the youths towards murderous terrorism-enabled currents that turned slaughter into an art. Awakening prevents such currents from taken shape in the minds of people as such current pose existential threat to peaceful coexistence among the various shade of humanity. Another current is the Zombies of imperialism who assimilate and parrot the agenda of the imperialist by becoming consciously, subconsciously or unconsciously its agent. Awakening prevents such current from taking shape.

Another goal of Awakening is to produce balanced components of the society that do not suffer from both superiority and inferiority complexes. A product that have all the confidence that God in His infinite mercy bestowed on mankind and it is this confidence that drives this finished components of the society towards greater knowledgeable heights that included scientific and technological advancement. We saw that happened in Iran after the glorious Islamic Revolution in 1979.

Then we come to the Issue of Islamic government. Generally, Islam is a worldview that can not be imposed by brute force. In the Quran God categorically stated that "There is no compulsion in religion". Prophet Muhammad (sa) did not just migrated to Madina and then established the Islamic government. The overwhelming majority of the people of Madina accepted an Islamic government in the pact that they signed with the Prophet (sa). After the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Khomeini (ra) did not just imposed the Islamic government. A nation-wide referendum was held and more than 98% of Iranians voted for the Islamic government and considering the tremendous progress that Iran has recorded within a short time of its history after the Revolution despite more than 30 years of cruel debilitating sanctions that was engineered by wicked Western imperialist, that choice was right and correct. There are various types of governments in the world today and the Islamic government is one of them, there is no law or rule that banned one from advocating for any of these types of governments. It is a matter of choice and people should be allowed freedom of choice.

For the information of those Shia-Zio-Wahhabis in Nigeria who recently launched massive campaign of calumny and demonization against Sheikh Zakzaky and the IMN and in support of the Nigerian oppressors who last December murdered 1000+ defenseless and unarmed Shia Muslims and dumped their dead bodies in mass graves, I say to you that we do not follow Ayatollah Khamenei because he is a Marjii, no we follow him because he is the Wilayat ul-Faqih. There are more than 60 Marjiis in the world today but there is only one Wilayat ul-Faqih. When Ayatollah Khamenei was elevated to this position after the sad demise of Imam Khomeini (ra) he was not a Marjii but we followed and obeyed him then. There are millions of Shia Muslims who follow other Marjiis but politically follow Ayatollah Khamenei as the Wilayat ul-Faqih.

On a final note, I humbly make this declaration "Before I am Shia, I am a Muslim and before I am Muslim, I am human!". We are not slaves of sectarianism as sectarianism has today become a potent weapon in the hands of Islam's greatest enemies. We should open our hearts and embrace the whole of humanity, that is the worldview of Islam and that is the message of Islamic Awakening.

NIGERIA: Open letter to Buhari on possible Quds Day 2016 attacks
Fears of further army violence against the Islamic Movement of Nigeria must be addressed.
H.E. President Muhammadu Buhari
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Office of the President
Aso Rock, Abuja
Nigeria
Wednesday 29 June 2016
Dear President Buhari,
The Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) is writing to you to raise concerns about information we have received that the Nigerian Army will be in attendance and a threatening force at the annual Al Quds Day rally on Friday 1 July 2016.
This is of huge concern as the demonstration is led by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), members of whom were targeted by the armed forces last year. Over three days in December 2015 more than 1000 people were killed as well as property and religious spaces destroyed by the armed forces in Zaria. Leading members of the movement were shot and imprisoned without charge.
It is clear this attack was planned as IMN symbols, buildings, graves and leading figures were targeted. Reports have also stated that individuals faced sexual violence, and were shot, burnt alive, and hacked to death by the Army. This violent massacre was on a very large scale and was hugely disturbing.
There is a history of attacks against IMN, especially during the Al Quds Day rally. In 2014 soldiers attacked the al-Quds Day procession in Zaria, Kaduna State, killing 32. In 2009 four people were killed and several injured when police opened fire on civilians, this was also in Zaria.
Following the December 2015 attacks against IMN, the state government in Kaduna set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry (JCI) but human rights organisations, including IHRC, believe it is not sufficiently independent and impartial to be able to hold those responsible to account, nor is there any reasonable prospect of any prosecutions.
This lack of accountability has the potential to create an environment where such horrific deaths are acceptable, and that IMN are easy targets. This means that Al Quds Day on Friday poses multiple risks, particularly with the perpetrators of the crimes – the Army – in attendance.
As such, IHRC calls on you to prohibit the Army’s presence at the demonstration and ensure the protection of IMN members who have already suffered immensely. It is imperative to send a strong message to ensure that peaceful and vulnerable members of Nigerian society can demonstrate support for Palestine uninhibited.
Yours sincerely,
Massoud Shadjareh

US Calls for Buhari’s Resignation, Releases Indicting Report
By Post Nigeria
June 18, 2016
The United States of America, US, has taken a swipe and technically called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, while revealing the President’s visionless plan for the country.
The World’s most powerful country, accused the Buhari administration of sheepishly running Nigeria underground.
The US former Chairman of House Intelligence Committee, Pete Hoekstra, made this disclosure on behalf of the United States, in an opinion article he wrote on Friday, June 17, published in the Wall Street Journal.
In the opinion piece titled, “Buhari is Nigeria’s problem, not it’s solution”, Hoekstra slammed the Buhari-led Federal Government of lacking vision in addressing the country’s dire economic and financial conditions.
His article was a response to Buhari’s article in the same journal on Tuesday, titled, “The three changes Nigeria needs”.
The President had written in the same journal, that the country needed to restore trust, re-balance the economy and regenerate growth.
Taking a swipe at Buhari, the US former Lawmaker, noted that Buhari’s anti-corruption drive was selective and focused on shutting up chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He said, “Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, writes of building an economic bridge to Nigeria’s future. It is hard to see how his administration’s inflexibility, lack of vision and reactive approach, will achieve this. Buhari notes that building trust is a priority for Nigeria.
He added: “Meanwhile, members of Buhari’s own cabinet, accused of large-scale corruption, walk free. Seventy percent of the national treasury is spent on the salaries and benefits of government officials, who make upwards of $2 million a year”.
Hoekstra, added that Buhari’s ideas to rebalance the economy and regenerate growth, had crippled the country.

“We have begun to tackle the endemic corruption and mismanagement that is crippling our economy, and corroding trust in our institutions.
“The anti-corruption fight is at the heart of combating poverty and improving security.
“I am optimistic that our actions are providing the breathing room Nigeria needs during this period of fundamental change…” Buhari had written.
“But an anti-corruption drive that is selective and focused on senior members of the opposition party, creates deep political divisions”.
“The manufacturing sector, essential to Nigeria’s diversification, has been the hardest hit, exacerbating an already fast-growing employment crisis. Foreign investors have started to flee en masse.
“Buhari makes only brief mention of the country’s deteriorating security situation.
“But security and stability are precursors to economic growth and development. Boko Haram has been pushed back for now, but little attention is paid to the structural issues that have spurred its rise”.

Nigerian President Muhummadu Buhari writes of building an economic bridge to Nigeria’s future (“The Three Changes Nigeria Needs,” op-ed, June 14). It’s hard to see how his administration’s inflexibility, lack of vision and reactive approach will achieve this.
Mr. Buhari notes that building trust is a priority for Nigeria. But an anticorruption drive that is selective and focused on senior members of the opposition party creates deep political divisions. Meanwhile, members of Mr. Buhari’s own cabinet, accused of large-scale corruption, walk free. Seventy percent of the national treasury is spent on the salaries and benefits of government officials, who make upwards of $2 million a year.
As for Mr. Buhari’s ideas to rebalance the economy and regenerate growth, his damaging and outdated monetary policy has been crippling. The manufacturing sector, essential to Nigeria’s diversification, has been hardest hit, exacerbating an already fast-growing employment crisis. Foreign investors have started to flee en masse.
Mr. Buhari makes only brief mention of the country’s deteriorating security situation. But security and stability are precursors to economic growth and development. Boko Haram has been pushed back for now, but little attention is paid to the structural issues that have spurred its rise.

Instead, the Nigerian government has diverted much-needed military resources to the Niger Delta, where rising militancy has reduced Nigeria’s oil production to less than half the country’s capacity, and half the amount required to service the national budget. Much of these tensions arise from Mr. Buhari’s decision to cut amnesty payments to militants and an excessively hard-line approach in a socially and politically sensitive environment.
Other ethnic tensions are also growing. In the country’s south, protests have been met by a bloody response from the Nigerian military, stoking the fire and galvanizing support for an independent state of Biafra. Rising tensions could again pose one of the greatest threats to Nigeria’s stability and future.

Politics / Thugs Attacked Recipients Of Ramadan Food Gifts In Zaria by RICHIFA14(m): 11:18am On Jun 13, 2016
Abdulmumin Giwa

Recipients of the annual gifts of Ramadan food items from Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky in Gyallesu, Zaria were on Tuesday attacked by thugs carrying machetes, sharp object and sticks where they seized the items and litter the streets with them.

The food items include maize, corn, sugar and rice which are annually distributed to the needy among the Sheikh’s neighbors in Gyallesu and other places in Zaria at the inception of every month of Ramadan. The Sheikh has done this annually for the past 20 years and more with the number of recipients rising annually due to persistent rising economic difficulties in the country.

One of the members of the IMN committee that distributes the food items annually, Musa Muhammad Tahir explained that on Tuesday the thugs attacked those distributing the food items pelting them with stones and shouting “bamu so” meaning “we don’t want” and they left the two vans containing food items for safety.

The thugs came with their machetes and sticks and litter the whole place with the food item on the vans and forced the recipients to submit the items they received to them or risk being harmed which they did and the entire food was scattered everywhere along Banadeen Street.

As if it was not enough, the thugs attacked the residence of the Sheikh’s sister, Hajiya Maimuna Yakubu along Sarkin Yaki Street where they threatened and beat her, trespass the house and brought out all her food items and litter the street with them as well.

IMN members immediately alerted the police Assistant Commissioner in Zaria and the Police Commissioner in Kaduna. The police escorted them and watched while they took Hajiya Maimiuna away to safety.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna Police Command SP Abubakar said in a telephone conversation that he needs to confirm from the Zaria Area Command before he could say anything on the matter.

The Police were said to have made some arrests at the Gyallesu area but the suspects were immediately released without any investigation into the incident which suggests government’s likely involvement.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that the incident was incited from two Izala sect mosques close to Gyallesu who announced that the IMN members were sharing poisoned food items to avenge the killing of their members by the Army and thugs in December last year.

Haruna Danja Mosque near Kongo in Zaria was said to be the venue of the meeting that organized the thugs into action in order not to allow the people receive food assistance from Sheikh Zakzaky lest they support or incline to him.

A cleric speaking in another Izala sect mosque along Mangwaron Andi Street in Gyallesu was heard calling on the people through the mosque’s loudspeakers not to accept the food items from the Sjhi’ites because it is poisoned and intended to kill people in revenge of the December killing of their members.

The same messages were seen on the social media being posted by members of the Izala sect without mentioning their sources of information as to the food items being poisoned by the IMN. The sharing of the food item had been on since Monday before it was attacked on Tuesday with no reports of anyone dying after eating the food.

It would be recalled that the same thugs were used by the soldiers to scavenge heap of corpses of IMN members killed by soldiers during the December attack where they stole personal possessions from the dead bodies.

Malam Abdullahi an Islamic teacher with students was one of the recipients attacked by the thugs who insulted and threaten describing him as a hypocrite for collecting food items from Sheikh Zakzaky. Malam Umar residing along Sarkin Yaki Street suffered the same fate with Mallam Abdullahi as the thugs seized the food items and litter the road with them.

With recipients getting between two to four bags each depending on the numbers of their family members, those that are yet to receive the items are still calling on the committee to give them and if they could not come they should tell them where to go and receive their own.

Generality of people have condemned the uncivilized act by the thugs and their sponsors as precious food items were left scattered on the streets while the needy are left in hunger and hardship that has overlapped the entire country under the current regime.

Meanwhile distribution of food items to the needy has continued for the third day in a row and more people are begging to receive the food assistance to alleviate the difficulties in these hard times.

A British newspaper, Mail Online , on Sunday questioned President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption credentials ahead of his arrival in London for a world anti-corruption summit to be hosted by UK’s Prime Minister, David Cameron.
The paper said “self-proclaimed ‘People’s President’”, Buhari, may be waging a war against corruption his critics have described as a witch hunt.
It wrote that Buhari sends his daughter to a £26,000-a-year English school and that in April, the opposition PDP party unearthed a ticket stub showing Hanan, 16, had flown first-class from London to Nigeria, despite her father’s ban on officials using premium travel.
The report added Buhari had spent £150,000 on educating his daughter Zahra, a Surrey University student.
The paper also questioned Buhari’s failure to give a full account of his worth, and pointed out his partial admission of more than £1million in the bank, five houses and two plots of land.
Mail Online added: “The presence of Nigeria’s president at David Cameron’s anti-corruption summit this week may surprise many in his nation – which receives vast amount of UK aid.
“Self-proclaimed ‘People’s President’ Muhammadu Buhari began a war on corruption after taking power last year, but critics allege it is a political witch-hunt.
“The Government is giving nearly £250 million in the coming year to oil-rich Nigeria..
“Supporters say 49 arrests of members of the previous regime show the anti-corruption war is genuine, but opponents say it is politically driven.
“Nigeria has the highest-paid government officials in the world but is one of the largest beneficiaries of UK foreign aid.
“The president of its senate, Bukola Saraki, is due to face trial on corruption charges after it emerged he has a £6million London property in his wife’s name.

Politics / Is Buhari A Devil Or Deliverer? by RICHIFA14(m): 9:24am On Jun 10, 2016
NEWSROOM EDITORIAL: Is Buhari the saviour Nigeria needs, or a disaster waiting to happen?
— 6 JUN, 2016
SHARE
It was explosive. Simply explosive.
Nothing like it had been witnessed in the nation’s history. Weeks of intriguing, dramatic electioneering campaign had given in to the elections proper. And not wanting to be left out, the elections brought their own (un)fair share of drama. From the usual ballot-box snatching to the unusual kidnapping of corps members acting as election officials, the 2015 elections were not short in tension.
With bated breath, the whole country followed the electoral umpire as it undertook the complicated task of compiling the results of the elections. That too was not devoid of memorable scenes. Can one ever forget that certain professor who couldn’t read his own handwriting or a certain elder statesman who, in the face of defeat, acted a one-man drama on national television much to the amusement of a global audience and the embarrassment of a hundred and seventy million people?
By the time the election results were announced, one needed no divination or special deciphering skills to gauge the prevailing atmosphere in the country. In many ways it was similar to the breaking away of the Israelites from captivity in Egypt.
Jubilations trickled through the nook and cranny of the Nigeria except, of course, in those places where Muhammadu Buhari had no love lost, as in the South East. As chants of “Sai Buhari” continued to fill the airwaves, one could see the optimism in every word. Even many who had voted for the then incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan silently hoped for a better deal under the new government.
No doubt, the NDA are economic terrorists. But you don’t kill a mosquito arrogantly perching on one’s scrotum with a sledge hammer.
The messiah had come. The one who would deliver the country from the hands of her oppressors had arrived. Or has he?
It’s been 12 months since President Muhammadu Buhari took office and, at the risk of stating the obvious, the enthusiasm that earlier permeated the country seems to have evaporated.
While many have totally written off the current administration as a total disappointment, many more are on the fence considering whether or not to go all out against their “hero”.
Is Buhari The messiah or just another of the devils – a dangerous one ingeniously masquerading as the long awaited deliverer?
Given the current situation of the country, it is impossible to blame Nigerians for their cynicism. The last 12 months have not been a bed of roses.
The masses, it seems, now helplessly live – to borrow words from Prof Oyewale Tomori – like decapitated chickens running along the Ikorodu expressway on a rainy day.
The number of casualties that have been lost to the hands of Fulani (or Mauritian or Libyan) herdsmen in the country is enough to drive a wedge in one’s throat. And what has been even more daunting has been the government’s relative silence while the gruelling scenes unfold across the country. How can our messiah watch with arms akimbo as we are slaughtered in cold murder? He even seems to be supportive of their cause or why has he made provisions for grazing reserves in the budget?
Nigerians’ angst towards the murderous herdsmen didn’t seem to derive from the senseless killings the incurable nomads have dished out to farming communities but from Buhari’s “it’s not a major problem” body language. The herdsmen were already tagged the “fourth most dangerous terrorist group in the world” under Buhari’s predecessor. The president’s initial description, in the wave of the killings under his watch, of the menace as “a perennial problem and we’ll look into it” probably made him pass across as the devil who sends “his Fulani brothers” on deathly errands against the people who voted him into power.
Mindless conspiracy theory: call it whatever you will. There’s palpable fear among some in this country that there’s a grand plot to convert Nigeria into an Islamic Caliphate. While Buhari and the members of his government insist it is absurd to think so, the same government seeks to expand the reach of Sharia Law while insisting the debate over such expansion should be held behind closed doors.
Abdullahi Salame, the APC rep behind the bill suggests a move to expand Islamic law over a secular state is actually one designed to protect the Christians who call the state “home”. If Sharia law is not expanded, Islamic extremists who attack Christians won’t find a legal deterrent, the rep tells everyone. One wonders if these “Muslims” are not bound by the same penal code to which every Nigerian is bound. This is unfolding under a Buhari who allegedly vowed to use his last breath to spread the reach of Sharia Nigeria-wide. Is Buhari the devil who will sign such bill, should it make it to the top, into law?
And that is not Nigeria’s only worry.
Two weeks ago, Lilian Douglas’ placard-carrying photograph went viral on social media. Her appeal was crisp: “Please help!!! I need a job.” It can be argued that that picture went viral because it put into words the situation of millions of youth. That it is becoming a trend is confirmation enough. While Nigeria has always had an employment deficit, that deficit continues to deepen as a dwindling economy limits more and more the opportunities available in the land. Companies (including the almighty banks) are downsizing to cope, some have even closed shop entirely thereby deepening the unemployment crisis in the country. The National Bureau of Statistics pegged the country’s unemployment rate at 10.4% as at March, 2016. But experts say it is actually as high as 23%. At least one million Nigerians may lose their jobs in the coming months.
Only time can tell if these “promises” and “achievements” indicate Buhari’s messiahship. But time, and time again, “the people’s president” has seemingly disowned his own promises.
As if those weren’t woes enough for the country, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) introduced themselves to the entire nation by blowing up pipelines in their region. Consequently, Nigeria’s oil production is at a 20-year low. The NDA vowed to bring Nigeria’s oil output to the zero mark. While many, including former education and finance minister Obiageli Ezekwesili, offer that military might is not the default and final response to such provocations; Buhari’s every action since militancy resurrected from the dead suggests the president knows no clue beyond bazookas, boats and bombs. Nigeria’s crude oil production fell by 67,000 barrels per day in March, the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) says. Crude oil production from Africa’s giant then stood at 1.677 million barrels per day (bpd) in March down from 1.744 million bpd in February. The slump, an ongoing one, cannot be isolated from NDA’s “economic terrorism”. Nigeria’s used to be Number One in this regard, a positions she has now lost to Angola.
No doubt, the NDA are economic terrorists. But you don’t kill a mosquito arrogantly perching on one’s scrotum with a sledge hammer.
We’ve seen how Buhari’s military chiefs dealt with Nigerian Shiites – an unnecessary use of the sledge hammer many argue.
On May 30, the day set apart by Buhari for all Nigerians to celebrate “our” democracy, Nigerian soldiers and the police reportedly unleashed mayhem on “peaceful” Biafra agitators. One would think violence should be the last resort in a democracy. Buhari and Nigeria’s instrument of coercion probably had other ideas. These kind of onslaughts on civilians are what Amnesty International points to urging the international community not to sell military hardware to Nigeria. Some even say the “tribalistic” tone of the attacks could plunge Nigeria into Civil War? No country is known to have survived two civil wars. Is Buhari the devil that will plunge Nigeria into dreaded abyss?
Or is the president Nigeria’s deliverer trying to unite the country, and kill its corrupt tendencies?
It’s rather impossible to forget the numerous battles this administration has been waging in the law courts. Although appreciative of the move, many believe, and rightly so, that the government’s opponents in the courts are made entirely of people from the opposition. That a certain opponent was kept in custody despite a court having ordered his release also adds to the increasing doubts in the heart of many Nigerians. And here we are, celebrating Democracy Day.
Some, afterall, say anti-corruption is not the solution to Nigeria’s myriad of problems. If it was, they ask, how come Britain — touted the “headquarters of global corruption” — is economically viable? Citizens of “fantastically corrupt” Nigeria may soon change their minds about Buhari’s anti-graft crusade if the economy fails to improve.
Who anti-corruption epp? London, “the capital of global corruption”, flourishes like the green grass on the hilly terrains of Ekiti — the El Dorado of every herdsman.
Not a few of the ardent Buhari supporters changed their minds about him being their messiah recently when his administration announced a 67% increase in the pump price of petrol. That was arguably the worst of all blows Nigerians received from the current administration. His promise was to reduce the price of petrol, not to increase it. But his handlers tell everyone the increase was necessary because “Nigeria is broke”. Still, the extravagant lifestyles of Nigeria’s ruling class are being subsidised at the expense of the common man. Buhari’s 2016 “Budget of Change” is even more ridiculous as it contains no proof the president is cutting luxuries for the country’s “servant” leaders.
In 2014, former President Goodluck Jonathan spent N12.2 billion to run the State House, Nigeria’s seat of federal power. In 2015, he slashed it to N6.6 billion as oil prices crashed. Buhari’s “Budget of Change” voted N18.8 billion for the same purpose in 2016. And it’s not that the price of crude oil has rebounded to $100 per barrel. It currently sells for between $48 and $51 per barrel. It crashed below $40 under Jonathan. Besides, Nigeria’s crude oil output is experience a gradual decline because of NDA’s economic terrorism.
While Nigerians are being told to make sacrifices of doves and pigeons, the ruling political class continues – under Buhari – to shamelessly hold on to its sacred cows, meat actually owned by the teeming masses. The masses, it seems, now helplessly live – to borrow words from Prof Oyewale Tomori – like decapitated chickens running along the Ikorodu expressway on a rainy day.
To worsen matters, Nigerians are made to pay more for a supply of electricity that is actually never supplied. It cannot be disputed that Buhari is yet to deliver Nigeria from dark nights.
How could Buhari be the messiah? Could it be by his government’s touted anti-graft war?
Many of those who sucked the country dry during the past administration are now being prosecuted and many Nigerians are happy about that. No doubt. After all, one of the major reasons they voted for Buhari in the first place was because he “had integrity” and vowed to tackle corruption at all levels. His move on the Treasury Single Account (TSA) has also saved the government lots of money, exposing thousands of ghost workers on the government’s payroll. That is something a messiah does, isn’t it?
But who anti-corruption epp? London, “the capital of global corruption”, flourishes like the green grass on the hilly terrains of Ekiti — the El Dorado of every herdsman. We digress.
The Goodluck Jonathan administration tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to remove subsidy on petrol. Somehow, this administration has successfully managed that divisive feat. Many rightly see that as indicative of the balls the administration possesses as against its predecessor.
Although Buhari’s numerous trips do not necessarily translate into immediate gain to the masses, there’s no doubt that Nigeria’s terrible international image is fixed. At least we can be sure no one will call our president an “ineffectual buffoon”. But New York Times’ description of Buhari as “an improvement” on “disastrous” Jonathan is not particularly flattering.
Although the NDA now poses a different challenge, it would be unfair not to highlight the progress this administration has made in the fight against Islamist sect Boko Haram.
Notwithstanding, the current administration prides itself, at every opportunity, in its social intervention programme included in the recently passed 2016 budget. “Five Hundred Billion Naira has been appropriated in the 2016 budget for social intervention programmes in five key areas,” Buhari said during his first Democracy Day address.
Although the NDA now poses a different challenge, it would be unfair not to highlight the progress this administration has made in the fight against Islamist sect Boko Haram. The return of two earlier kidnapped Chibok girls is a much needed fuel for the fire of hope that more of the girls be rescued.
What’s more? The president has reaffirmed “our commitment to rescuing our girls”.
“We will never stop until we bring them home safely. As I said before, no girl should be put through the brutality of forced marriage and every Nigerian girl has the right to an education and a life choice,” he said.
Only time can tell if these “promises” and “achievements” indicate Buhari’s messiahship. But time, and time again, “the people’s president” has seemingly disowned his own promises — except the one he made about cleaning up Niger Delta’s oil spill. The effort, flagged off on June 2, will cost $1 billion in cash, and 30 years in time.
Is Buhari Nigeria’s deliverer or the devil repackaged by the very Gates of Hell to snuff out the country’s waning breathe and allot her a portion in Hades?
Time will tell and Nigerians are waiting.

Politics / NIGERIAN Army:the Untold Story & The Unearthing The Truth by RICHIFA14(m): 9:31am On May 22, 2016
Nigerian Army:The Untold story and Unearthing the Truth
An army (from Latin arma “arms, weapons” via Old French armée, “armed” (feminine)) or ground force is a fighting force that fights primarily on land. In the broadest sense, it is the land-based military branch, service branch or armed service of a nation or state. It may also include other branches of the military such as the air force via means of aviation corps. Within a national military force, the word army may also mean a field army. They differ from army reserves who are activated only during such times as war or natural disasters.
The Armed forces of a country are its government-sponsored defense, fighting forces, and organizations. They exist to further the foreign and domestic policies of their governing body and to defend that body and the nation it represents from external and internal aggressors. In broad usage, the terms “armed forces” and “military” are often treated synonymously, although in technical usage a distinction is sometimes made in which a country’s armed forces may include both its military and other paramilitary forces.
The Nigerian army is constitutionally mandated to defend the Nigerian nation and all its people from external and internal aggressions and attacks and to safeguard and protect the territorial integrity of the Nigerian State. Sadly in recent years the Nigerian military of which the Nigerian army is the strongest arm have diggress from this noble responsibility and have become a notorious killing machine that is murdering innocent and defenseless Nigerians.
In the 2015 #US State Department annual human rights report on #Nigeria under the sub-heading of “Arbitrary or Unlawful Deprivation of Life”, the report stated:
“The government and its agents committed numerous arbitrary and unlawful killings. The national police, army, and other security services committed extrajudicial killings and used lethal and excessive force to apprehend criminals and suspects as well as to disperse protesters. Authorities generally did not hold police, military, or other security force personnel accountable for the use of excessive or deadly force or for the deaths of persons in custody. State and federal panels of inquiry investigating suspicious deaths did not make their findings public.
Security force use of excessive force, including live ammunition, to disperse demonstrators resulted in numerous killings during the year. For example, on December 12, army troops killed an undetermined number–possibly hundreds according to some credible reports–of members of the Shia group Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in Zaria, Kaduna State, following an altercation at a roadblock that disrupted the convoy of the chief of army staff. IMN leader Sheikh Ibrahim #Zakzaky remained in government custody.”
This article will analyze the negative effects and manifestations of the corrupt practices and wanton extrajudicial killings of innocent and defenseless Nigerians that are associated with the Nigerian army in recent years. To facilitate our study we decided to brake down the topic to the following sub-topics to ease our work and to further clarify the picture. The sub-topics are:
●Nigerian army as sponsors of #BokoHaram
●Nigerian army as bandits to extort Nigerians
●Nigerian army as Enforcers to rig elections
●Nigerian army/navy as Oil bunkerers
●Nigeria army as an imperialist tool
■Nigerian army as sponsors of BokoHaram:
The BokoHaram insurgency started around 2009 when a low-keyed local pretender Muhammad Yusuf became notorious for preaching that “Western education is Haram (prohibited)” and had followership then mainly in the two North-Eastern states of Borno and Yobe states. Muhammad Yusuf was killed on 30th July, 2009 by the Nigerian security agencies in an extrajudicial killings.
The followers of Muhammad Yusuf that survived declared vengeance on the Nigerian state and started attacking local police stations for arms and ammunition. This was the point when the BokoHaram was hijacked by imperialist forces and the rag-tag thugs undergone an exponential transformation to a murderous monster that threatened the entire West African sub-region. The question is how did this transformation took place and who facilitated it?
The Nigerian army Chiefs and military high command played an important role in the exponential transformation of the murderous BokoHaram insurgency that has killed more than 30,000 innocent Nigerians and killed more thousands from neighboring countries. The Nigerian military Chiefs connived with the then political leaders to loot billions of dollars of funds appropriated for the war against BokoHaram. It was either they were buying museum-bound weapons or they were not buying at all. And to fed the insurgency it was either they were dropping weapons and ammunition directly to the murderous thugs or they are “abandoning” heavily-stocked arms depots to the terrorists.
To deceive Nigerians and the world that there was an ongoing war against BokoHaram and to justify the stealing of those funds the Nigerian army then abducted tens of thousands of innocent Nigerians and tortured them to death. This correlate with the report by the London-based human rights body Amnesty International which said that “during the Nigerian army’s scorched-earth response to Boko Haram between 2011 and 2015, more than 8,200 civilians were murdered, starved or tortured to death”.
■Nigerian army as bandits of extortion:
A Kaduna-based non-govermental organization “Centre For Fundamental Rights Protection Initiative” recently released a detailed report backed by graphic pictures and videos of the banditry crimes and atrocities of the Nigerian army and its allied Vigilantes in Kaduna and neighboring states under the military task force to check cattle rustling in the Birnin Gwari axis.
This NGO documented and highlighted rampant cases of extra-judicial killings, extortion, rape, extermination of whole families, organ trafficking and mass Graves against the personnels of the Nigerian army. The NGO wrote in its report: “In our investigations, we discovered that old unused Wells are used as mass Graves to bury the victims of these extra-judicial killings by the Nigerian army personnels in Chikun/Birnin Gwari Local Governments forests. The visit to these locations on 25th June, 2015 was in company of Men of the Homicide and S.A.R.S. Departments of the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters, Kaduna state command. We discovered at least seven (7) of such mass Graves in our investigations and vast remains of people killed extra-judicially by the Nigerian military task force and their Vigilante collaborators.”
■Nigerian army as Enforcers of Elections Rigging:
Election rigging is an epidemic in the Nigerian democratic process where those in control of the institutions of the state uses Nigerian security agencies to rig elections in their favour. The Nigerian army is the most effecient and brutal in enforcing election rigging in Nigerian. The notorious #EkitiGate where the past regime used the Nigerian army to rig the gubernatorial elections of Ekiti state is still fresh in the minds of Nigerians. The leading opposition party in Nigeria recently accused the Nigerian army of been part of the plot by the governing party to rig the elections in River state. In enforcing election rigging hundreds of innocent Nigerians have been killed by the Nigerian army to subvert the will of the electorate.
■Nigerian army/navy as Oil bunkerers:
Nigeria has one of the worst cases of Oil bunkering in the world and this would not have been possible without the active connivance of the Nigerian military who either turned the blind eye for juicy “settlements” or actively engaging in the bunkering of crude Oil for fast money. And because this illegal bunkering cut accross the military high command, no Nigerian military officers have been convicted to this date.
■Nigerian army as an imperialist tool:
The peak of the savagery and barbarity of the Nigerian army was reached when it brutally slaughtered in less than 48 hours close to 1000 defenseless and unarmed Shia Muslims that included hundreds of women and children in the #ZariaMassacre, and dumped their dead bodies in mass Graves 80 KM from the site of the massacre. The Nigerian army murdered these Nigerians to serve the evil imperialist agenda that have the savage Saudi Wahhabi regime as a front.
The London-based human rights organization Amnesty International released a damming report on the Zaria massacre titled “Unearthing the truth: Unlawful killings and mass cover-up in Zaria”. “The true horror of what happened over those two days in Zaria is only now coming to light. Bodies were left littered in the streets and piled outside the mortuary. Some of the injured were burned alive,” said Netsanet Belay, Amnesty International’s Research and Advocacy Director for Africa.
“Our research, based on witness testimonies and analysis of satellite images, has located one possible mass grave. It is time now for the military to come clean and admit where it secretly buried hundreds of bodies.” The Amnesty International official added.
“It is clear that the military not only used unlawful and excessive force against men, women and children, unlawfully killing hundreds, but then made considerable efforts to try to cover-up these crimes,” said Netsanet Belay of Amnesty International.
On a final note, the reason why the Nigerian military continue to commit heinous crimes and atrocities against innocent and defenseless Nigerians is because the internal law mechanism have woefully failed to punish the culprits in the past and this have embolden them to continue with their extrajudicial killings and massacres. The step taken by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (#IMN) under the leadership of His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky to refer the Zaria massacre to the International Criminal Court (ICC) that is based in the Hague is a step in the right direction. Such mechanism will check the excesses of the Nigerian army and enhance its professionalism by eliminating the bad eggs within its ranks and discourage inhuman massacres.

Politics / Sheikh Zakzaky Court Hearing Begins On May 18 by RICHIFA14(m): 9:23pm On May 16, 2016
Sheikh Zakzaky Court Hearing Slated For May 18
“The Movement will follow the laid down rules and procedures in seeking redress and no amount of intimidation and provocation will deter it from the path of truth and justice."

The first court hearing on the kidnapping and maltreatment of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), will commence on May 18, 2016 at the Federal High Court in Kaduna State.
Sheikh Zakzaky was abducted and abused by Nigerian military troops in the midst of the Zaria massacre, in which at least 347 IMN members were killed by the military.
In a press release issued by IMN spokesman Ibraheem Musa, the organization stated that it was seeking justice and redress for the inhumane treatment of its leader through the federal courts rather than the Judicial Commission of Inquiry (JCI) established by the Kaduna State government to investigate the massacre. The group dismissed the JCI as a “Kangaroo Commission” designed to indict the IMN and protect the military from prosecution.

The IMN further stated that the government is using the Department of State Service (DSS) to intimidate Femi Falana, the prominent human rights lawyer leading the IMN legal team. According to the IMN, the DSS has been pressuring Mr. Falana and the IMN to seek redress in the JCI rather than in court
“The Movement will follow the laid down rules and procedures in seeking redress and no amount of intimidation and provocation will deter it from the path of truth and justice,” the group said in its statement.
The IMN added that its decision to take the matter to court was made by Sheikh Zakzaky and not Mr. Falana, as the DSS has alleged.
To date, the federal government has failed to take effective, concrete steps towards investigating December’s massacre and prosecuting those responsible.
The Kaduna State government recently admitted that it secretly buried 347 victims, corroborating earlier reports by human rights organizations. According to such reports, women, children, and the elderly were among the deceased, with many being burned alive, stabbed with bayonets, and shot at close range.
The IMN alleged that over 850 members remain missing. After the massacre, hundreds of IMN members were abducted and detained in unknown facilities, according to the group.
The organization hopes that Wednesday’s court hearing will finally bring justice to these victims. In the mean time, the IMN has called for the immediate release of their leader and other detained IMN members.

Politics / Buhari Is Not Sound On Economy & Foreign Affairs-obasanjo by RICHIFA14(m): 7:35am On May 15, 2016
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.
“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.
The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.
While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this administration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.
“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”
The former president also said he tried his best in fighting corruption, especially in the recovery of funds looted by the late Gen. Sani Abacha and that as of the time he left the government, about $1bn was still to be recovered.
Obasanjo said, “For me, we have no hope if we have no future. I am an optimist as far as Nigeria is concerned. If somebody doesn’t get it all right for now, we will get somebody who will come up and fix whatever is missing. The administration before this had no clue on how to deal with Boko Haram, there is no doubt about that.
“You may not like the way he (Buhari) is fighting corruption. I fought corruption. We recovered over $1.25bn from Abacha and his men. We didn’t make noise. Also, we recovered £100m and about N30m and those who were helping us, the lawyers and the rest said there was still at least $1bn to be recovered at that time. I put it in my handover notes. But rather than encourage scrupulous persons, we had another spate of corruption.”
Obasanjo added that fighting corruption would not be effective if it did not translate to better life for the citizens.
He said, “Fighting corruption is not a one-day or a one-regime affair. If where we left it, they continued, we would have gone far. For me, the questions are: Is corruption being fought? And if it is being fought, is it being effectively fought? Are we getting the desired results? And if we are getting the desired results, what impact is it having on our society and on our nation?”
Other speakers at the event included Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Prof. Joy Ogwu, and the Associate Vice-President, Research, McMaster University, Canada, Prof. Bonny Ibhawoh.
They both said if Africa was to experience any development, leaders must match their words or policies with action.

Shiites insist on El-Zakyzaky’s release before appearing at judicial panel
By Saxone Akhaine, Northern Bureau Chief |
02 May 2016 | 4:26 am
The leader of Islamic Movement of nigeria otherwise known as Shi”te, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky
The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), has given the release of its leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky from prison custody, as key condition for its appearance before a Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by Kaduna State Government.
The judicial commission was set up to investigate the December 2015 deadly attack on members of IMN, also known as the Shiites in Zaria by the Nigerian Army.
This is against the backdrop of calls by the Northern Governors on the Shiite members to return to the judicial panel with their memorandum.
The Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, advised the Shiites to make whatever case they have known to the panel, pointing out that the governors have absolute confidence in those that constituted the members of the Commission to deliver sound judgment and recommendation.
However, the Spokesman of the Shiites, Mallam Ibrahim Musa, at the weekend, in a statement said “the Northern State Governors Forum (NSGF), in a communiqué issued at its meeting last Friday, called on the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) to cooperate with the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the Kaduna State Government to investigate the December military attack on members of IMN in Zaria”, adding that “we appreciate the governors call, at least it is an acknowledgement on their part that something unfortunate in the history of the north happened in Zaria that if not handled fairly and justly could have long-term consequences for the region and the country in general.”
Musa argued that the members of “IMN made their points for staying away from the Commission very clear and will like to remind the governors and the general public,” pointing out that “ none of the reasons have been given consideration or addressed by any of the relevant authorities or even by the NSGF or all those clamouring for our appearance before the commission.
“Foremost among the reasons is the continued incarceration of the leader of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, who we all know was attacked in his own house towards midnight in what the Army termed ‘cordoned and search’ operation without any justification.
‘The crux of the matter is that there is simply no rational basis for the soldier’s attack in his residence in the first place. In effect justice demands that Sheikh Zakzaky is supposed to be a free man so that he can give his own input to the Commission on his own volition.
