I have never understood the rationality of a state government calling a road passing through your state territory "A FEDERAL ROAD."
The road passes through your state!
The road provides a gateway/exit to and from your state!
The people of your state are the ones that mostly use the road!

Fix it because of the security and safety of your own people. It is not rocket science!

Then what do I know. The governor probably has more pressing issues on his plate such as dancing and singing .

It’s all about jurisdiction. If it’s been designated a FG road, it was built by the FG and it is upon them to maintain the road. All FG roads should be documented somewhere with maintenance date and repair date listed. The road as I see it doesn’t look like it’s seen a single bucket of asphalt.
You can’t expect the State government to do what is designated Federal . Every state has its budget. And if you are spending billions on the road and don’t pay your civil servants , or maintain your state roads- miss-allocation of funds.

again I ask - why is the coastal highway that urgent when we have projects like this all across the country ?

The road which is 91K was jointly awarded by the government of Seyi Makinde and the former Govornor. Oyetola. Oyo would do their side of 35KM and Osun too would do their side too.

Oyo is still on going despite running behind schedule with a January 2025 update. So I dont know if Osun isnt doing theirs and had abadoned it. Wè dont know as if now .

and pictures of the Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo Road rehabilitation project, a collaborative effort between the Oyo and Osun State Governments, is steadily progressing towards reducing travel time between the two States to less than 50 minutes. The project spans a total length of 91 km, with Oyo State handling the reconstruction of 35.53 km of the road divided into three sections:

Section 1: Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge (7.7 km)
Section 2: Dualisation of Olodo Bridge to Ogunmakarun Junction (500 m)
Section 3: Ogunmakarun Junction to Odo Oba (27.33 km)
The project was flagged off on 27 October 2022 by Governor Seyi Makinde and the then Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in Osogbo. The Oyo State section was awarded to Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd.

Presently:

Section 1: Significant progress has been made on the Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge stretch. Work is still ongoing, and the contractor is currently working on the road after the Olodo Bridge before the Infectious Disease Centre
Olodo Bridge Dualisation: The first phase of the two-span Olodo Bridge construction is complete, and work has resumed on the second phase with a scheduled completion in Q2 2025.
Traffic Congestion Relief: Upon completion, the dualisation at Olodo Bridge will address congestion issues at the Olodo axis.
The Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo Road project is running behind schedule, but when complete, will fit into the goals of Omituntun 2.0 to enhance connectivity and improve the economic activities between Oyo and Osun States.

Now if this is a FG road why are we spending money on coastal highway to nowhere ? The priority would be to make every FG road tarred with solar lights where necessary , drainage gutters . This is 2025 !

Please, I need your opinion on this issue. So I’ve known my girlfriend since NYSC 2019, and ever since then, we’ve been best of friends. I travelled out in 2022, but we still kept in touch and from there we started dating. I’m 29 and she’s also 29. Honestly, I have plans to settle down and marry her when things are right.

To be honest, I currently work and I’m also doing another master’s program in a very reputable institution here in Canada, and I will be done this year. The stress of working and schooling is a lot, and my current workplace pays the barest minimum. I literally have nothing left after sorting out all my bills and expenses. I’m not financially ready to settle down right now, and I even gave her a timeline of two years. Worst case, no matter what, we’ll settle down in two years max. Let me try and fix things for myself here. I can’t marry and bring someone’s daughter here to come and suffer.

I’m a worried person. My dreams are really big and God knows I’m working tirelessly to achieve them. She also knows because I discuss everything with her. Honestly, I understand her point of view, but I’m the kind of person that gets really anxious easily. It would kill me to get married, have kids, and not be able to cater for them.

I know you can’t have everything financially before settling down, but I want at least a moderately stable job. One that allows me to take care of her confidently even if she comes over and doesn’t work immediately. To be honest, my job pay is very low, like unimaginably low, and I’m just barely surviving. I’ve pictured every possible scenario, thinking and planning ahead, but everything is pointing to one answer — I’m not ready.

Considering her age and the kind of person she is, I strongly believe that after marriage she will want kids and to start building a family. That’s not a bad thing, but I, as a man, don’t want to get stuck in that life yet because I know the kind of future I envision. I’ve always promised myself that I won’t raise a family on “manage-manage.” I feel like if I get married now and start raising a family, my focus will shift entirely to making sure they live well, which could make me lose track of my personal goals.

I swear, I know my girlfriend loves me. That’s not in doubt. But I’ve been pleading with her to give me at least two more years. If after that things are still not great, then we’ll settle down and manage until something better comes.

Right now, to be honest, I don’t even have anything financially to plan a small wedding, and I definitely won’t borrow or ask anyone for financial support to do a wedding.

Please, I want your honest opinion. The two options here are: either get married before this time next year or end the relationship now, as there are other people already asking for her hand in marriage.

Let me share the advice my uncle gave his son my cousin when he was travelling out !

Have no strings attached. Period.

Don’t be forced to embark on something when you aren’t ready for. Especially marriage .
When you have built credit and can get a personal line of credit and above minimum wage job then you can contemplate marriage.
Better to marry someone who is used to the hustle and expectations than bringing someone over who might expect overnight success.
There are hundreds of Nja ladies in Canada looking for a decent man like you to marry. ( I personally know one in MB doing her master and actively seeking )
That said if she is the one for you , she will wait and if not then cest la vie !!!

It’s not a one size fits all issue.
Various married men cheat for various reasons which could be categorized.
In your story you make it sound like the woman is an angel and the man evil.

That said - You need to realize he didn’t need to get married , he could have stayed single and have baby mama’s. He married because he felt one woman could satisfy he’s urges , that she would be his saviour. You need to understand that there are women out there that will throw themselves at men , men who may have weak morals . It could be that she laid a trap for him ( because he is weak morally) She may not even want the man but the benefits he provides her money , attention and perhaps the sexual itch every now and then , at times it’s about the adventure of feeling young again.

There was no dispute that he killed her. The issue was in kind of death he deserved .
