before u root,download root checker to know the status of ur phone for it not to brick-up.
Hweva,rooting means,going out of restricted arena nw having control over all the whole codes of the phone.

go for method2...........download the apk ,,install and download datafile directly through d apk

Go to menu,click on contact,click your right button ontop of the dial button,click on import/export,click next and then scroll down .It will show you the two sims and phone click anyone you like and it will copy immediately that's all.

martinho5: pls buddies... I successful rooted my q1 but mistaken messed with the android os and my phone is no longer booting up when i power it on. I have sent it across to carlcare and was told to expect the phone back in about a month's time. I don't know if they will successfully restore my phone for me... Or has any one faced this problem before?

HOW TO ROOT TECNO Q1
To root tecno q1 you will need the following requirement.
1. A computer or laptop running windows.
2. Your tecno q1 phone.
3. A compactible USB cable.
PROCEDURES TO ROOT TECNO Q1
Download pda.net to install adb drivers for tecno.
Download Root with restore by binary from here .
Extract the Root with restore by binary package
with winrar or 7 zip and run the .bat file in it
Enable USB DEBBUGGING on your phone and
connect to your system.
Open the .bat file and type 1 on your keyboard and
hit enter wait for your device to prompt for restore.
Click restore.
The setup will verify root access and reboot your
Tecno Q1.
After your phone finshes rebooting.
Locate superuser on your phone menu and lauch to
confirm.
Download and install root checker to confirm root.
Congratulations your phone is now rooted!
