Another major source of USD is remittance. Nigerians abroad send money home and that has helped to increase USD liquidity in Nigeria.

Before now, Nigeria had always done what you suggested and it was costing the country a lot of money. If you peg your exchange rate, it means you have get enough FX to shore up the disparity. Tinubu came in and stopped it (floating the naira).

Dollar is not our currency, we don't print in dollar but foreign companies and multinational companies are exiting or closing operations in Nigeria due to economic uncertainties, challenging business, current foreign exchange crunch and devaluation of the naira, resulting in lower earnings for foreign companies in dollar terms, high taxes, etc and since Tinubu announced floating the naira does it yielded any positive result?

When Osinbajo was acting president, he commanded the Apex bank to adjust forex policy and the apex bank came up with an action plan in less than 48 hours (2days), the naira, which was exchanging for about N510 to a dollar crashed to between N400 and N450.

Mr Tinubu for over a year now has been struggling with different policies recovery of the naira up till now no positive result. What he (Tinubu) fails to achieve in a year still counting was achieved by someone within 2days. Had it been such osibanjo is the president what did you think will happen to dollar within a year of his government.

Yes, cutting the cost of governance will help but what we face today is far bigger than that. What these politicians don't understand is that every now and then new problems emanate. If you don't tackle existing ones, they keep piling up.

For instance, our latest problems are hunger, high inflation rate and high exchange rate. Buhari couldn't solve insecurity, economic diversification, unemployment, poor government revenue, high poverty rate, high rate of illiteracy, etc. Tinubu has inherited the problems Buhari couldn't solve and the new ones his (Tinubu's) policies have created.

Nigeria needs to create wealth. This will solve a bunch of our problems....this country is not creating wealth; that's why Nigerians are running away.

To create wealth, we need to stop the obsession with crude oil and tap other areas of generating revenue. Tinubu is trying to harness gas reserves, but we can achieve so much from agriculture. I don't know why we don't have cocoa and palm plantations all over southern Nigeria...cotton, cashew, millet, etc.

Anyways Nigeria isn't worth anyone's headache. Leaders are looting money and followers are hoping to be given the opportunity to serve so they can loot. Looting na turn by turn.

What led to hunger is inflation I think you know and what caused the high exchange rate is inadequate of dollar. The solution to these two problems is very simple. When there is high rate of inflation, a sane government knows what to do but Nigeria politicians at all level will never do what will affect their pockets

In Nigeria where dollar is dictating for us, why can't they make dollars available in surplus and announced a very low exchange rate where there would be a severe punishment for any institutions, agencies or individual selling above government lowest price but this never be done or achieved because they are the one holding foreign currencies at their disposal for selfish interest
