I have used Turkish airline a couple of times, no way you can compare them with the airlines you mentioned. They've stepped up real good, services very ok

Thank a bunch vcole, will most def consult a tax consultant. Already have a realtor negotiating for 20% for the mortgage. I hope I won't be charged that 25% income tax on the initial funds I'll come in with as that won't be fair on us. That will be some higher amount if anyone is coming with large sum.
vcole:
Well, you would have to explain your source of income each time you bring funds into the country. Also you'll pay tax on your declared foreign income. I think that's about 25% now. Nigeria does have a tax treaty with Canada http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/webarchives/20071126043921/http://www.fin.gc.ca/news99/data/99-115_1e.html . A tax consultant is best to discuss and clarify issues with income tax. As per mortgage, your down payment would be a minimum of 35%.

Thanks Salford1, will google and read up. I intend to pay for my mortgage and credit card from 9ja income, wanted to get more details on that. Thanks though.

There is a good chance you would pay tax if declared, but if Canada has a tax treaty with Nigeria, then you might not need to pay tax on your foreign income. Google and read up on form T2125. Better still, you might want to wait for more contribution from our business/accounting oriented peeps on here or ring up a tax consultant.

As per the credit rating, your business in naija and your credit rating are unrelated. You simply build your credit by paying your bills promptly. Records of payments or defaults are reported to credit reporting agencies, and any lender can pull your details from the agencies when you apply for credit from the lender.

Good job guys, I need a lil clarification on how to handle tax issues and credit rating as i don't intend to jump into the labor market soon, I have my business set up in 9ja and it can run well in my absence, i intend to live off it for a while by using my 9ja visa card. Pls anyone knows if one can stay on that route for some time and don't run into problems with sorting out income tax and credit rating issues, Thanks in advance

bigbroda:
U can use d CRS tool/calculator to know d exact score, however d maximum score for spouse's IELTS score is 20. With you present score 363+15(having a siblings there)+20(which isn't likely to get all) you have 398 which isn't up to 400 to even get Ontario nomination at d moment. U can try to use your spouse as d principal applicant to see what d new score would look like. If it doesn't work out well then u should rewrite IELTS. We seem to have similar issue. Had to rewrite IELTS I guess on d same day your spouse wrote. Expectant at d moment!

Meanwhile, which province is your sibling? U can check to see if they have an ongoing PNP to tap into it. Also looking forward to dat.

All da best!
Thanks bro,

A little clarification needed please.
I am currently in the EE pool with 363 points and am expecting to get additional 15 points on June 6th for the sibling in Canada. My spouse has just taken the ielts and we are awaiting the result. If the score is 7 in all four categories, what will be our likely crs points.

Thanks in advance
