they are actually not hard to solve.

It's that number one that is annoying me. After solving it, what I got is absolutely not what I bargained for at all. It led me to a quadratic equation with decimal roots.

And robin hez keeps saying i'm wrong . . . and he won't even say why.

Consider, in the second equation,

Log₂(y+1) + log₂x = 2

This equals Log₂[x(y+1)] = Log₂4

If Log is canceled on both sides, we have,

x(y+1) = 4

Multiply that, and we have xy + x = 4

[s]That is clearly a quadratic equation in the making. Hence, there should be four values on your answers. In fact, I predict it will be never be integers and therefore, the answer is not in your options.[/s]
