Victor Boniface champion of Germany as opening goal inspires Bayer Leverkusen big win

Victor Boniface along with fellow Super Eagles teammate Nathan Tella is champion of Germany after his opening goal inspired a big 5-0 home win over Werder Bremen today.

Leverkusen only needed a win today for their first Bundesliga conquest in their 120-year history, but they did this super style.

They racked up an unassailable 79 points with five rounds of matches to the end of the season.

Victor Boniface justified his first start of this year after a long injury layoff when he slotted home a penalty after 25 minutes of action.

It was the tonic the home team needed as they went on to score four more goals – he assisted for the second goal – to send a packed BayArena into wild celebrations.

Victor Boniface and Tella have thus become only their third and fourth Nigerians to win the Bundesliga championship.

They have now gone 43 games unbeaten this season.

They are also in top reckoning for the UEFA Europa League as well as the German Cup, where they will do battle against Kaiserslautern in the final next month in Berlin.

Sports / Nigeria Vs Ghana In Germany? What Victor Boniface Did After Scoring by robosky02(m): 7:47pm On Apr 12
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface scored his first goal of the year in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-0 victory over West Ham in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League, Soccernet.ng reports.

It was a tie that was heavily dominated by Bayer Leverkusen, as they had 65% of the possession and 33 shots on goal. However, they had to wait until the dying minutes of the game before they got the lead, and the two goalscorers were substitutes.

Jonas Hofmann scored in the 83rd minute before Boniface added the second three minutes later. The goal was Boniface’s first of the year, and he was clearly elated. However, the Super Eagles striker did not perform his usual celebration where he would perform a funny run and jump with a fist pump. Instead, he ran to the advertisement board and sat on it- a celebration popularly associated with West Ham star Mohammed Kudus.

This celebration could have been to mock Kudus because of the rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria. This is as Boniface has been a proponent of the rivalry on X(formerly known as Twitter). Nonetheless, the Super Eagles star never had an altercation with Kudus.

With just a two-goal margin between both sides, the second leg is sure to be a spectacle because West Ham would be looking to cancel Bayer Leverkusen’s advantage. With Boniface’s recent goal, he might start against West Ham next week. Kudus has been a regular for the Hamners, and he could go up against Boniface again.

The following are the reason Victor Osimhen should sign for PSG and not Chelsea

1 At PSG he is sure of champions league action. But Chelsea is not sure of European action.

2 At PSG he is almost sure of winning the league with some effort. But Chelsea is not in form and has Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United to contend with.

3. Going to PSG he will be making his own decisions. But at Chelsea it will be the decision of Mikel Obi and Drogba. Don't forget Ronaldo regretted not making his own decision but went to United to please Alex Farguson

4. Going to PSG he will maintain his class as a top player but at Chelsea a club without champions league action will take him off the radar when top player as rated.

5 At PSG he can fight for Balon For, Africn Footballer of the year and Highest goal scorer because he will be playing with other stars but Chelsea is not at the same level Drogba and Mikel left it

6. Do you know if Osimhen goes to PSG 2024/5 season He will win the world cup in 2026

Ronaldinho went to PSG in 2001 he won world cup 2002
Mbappe went to PSG 2017 he won the world cup 2018
Messi went to PSG in 2021 he won the world cup 2022

7 therefore if Osimhen goes to PSG Nigeria can win the world cup in 2026 for Africa

'Football is played with your head' — Super Falcons coach Waldrum gloats after leading Nigeria to Olympic qualification

Randy Waldrum was in a celebratory mood after Nigeria's crucial win over South Africa
Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum basked in the glory of Nigeria's qualification for the 2024 Olympics, emphasising the cerebral aspect of the beautiful game.

Nigeria beat South Africa to reach Olympics
Waldrum's tenure as head coach of the Super Falcons reached a new high as he guided Nigeria to their first Olympic Games Women’s tournament since 2008. The team's hard-fought victory over fierce rivals South Africa sealed their passage to the 2024 Olympics in Paris, ending a 16-year wait for Olympic participation.

In a tense encounter against South Africa, Nigeria held their nerve to secure a 1-0 aggregate victory following a goalless draw in Pretoria. The Super Falcons' disciplined performance mirrored their coach's tactical acumen, as they relied on solid defence and strategic play to earn their ticket to Paris.

A Quote from the Maestro
Following the win over South Africa, Randy Waldrum took to social media to share a poignant message, drawing inspiration from the legendary Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

In a tweet, Waldrum proclaimed, "Football is played with your head. Your feet are just the tools," encapsulating the cerebral approach to the sport that guided Nigeria to victory.

The Group of Death Awaits
Nigeria's qualification for the Olympics comes with the challenge of navigating through a formidable group. Group C, dubbed the "Group of Death," features reigning World and UEFA Nations League champions Spain, along with Asian powerhouses Japan and the renowned Samba Queens of Brazil. Despite the daunting task ahead, Waldrum's tactical prowess will be crucial in guiding the Super Falcons through this formidable lineup of opponents.

As Nigeria's Super Falcons prepare to embark on their Olympic journey, Randy Waldrum's poetic celebration serves as a reminder of the importance of strategy and intelligence in football. With their coach's sage guidance and a blend of skill and determination, the Super Falcons will aim to make their mark on the grand stage of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, fueled by the wisdom that "football is played with your head."

Osimhen move to PSG sealed with €13m annual salary

French Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly secured a deal to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Italian media outlet Il Mattino.

PSG‘s interest in the Nigerian striker stems from their need to find a replacement for the departing Kylian Mbappe, who is set to join Real Madrid. An agreement has been reached with Osimhen, signalling his imminent move to Parc des Princes.

The 25-year-old, having signed a new contract with Napoli in December that includes a €130 million release clause, is poised to bid farewell to the Italian club at the end of the current season. Reports indicate that PSG has agreed to meet this hefty release clause to secure Osimhen’s services.

“Victor Osimhen and Napoli will part ways at the end of the current season, with the player set to be sold upon payment of the €130 million release clause,” as quoted by Area Napoli.

PSG emerges as the frontrunner for Osimhen’s signature, with Thursday’s edition of Il Mattino detailing the significant offer made to the Nigerian striker.

“It’s farewell to Italy. Osimhen’s final weeks in Italy are upon us, with PSG very close to securing his services.

“The agreement is almost finalized, with concrete steps taken between Osimhen, his representatives, and PSG’s Qatari owners.

“Paris stands as Osimhen’s top choice, and PSG is eager to conclude the deal swiftly.”

According to Il Mattino, Osimhen’s move to PSG will see him earn a staggering €13 million annually over a four-year contract, with additional control over his image rights.

“The Nigerian sensation is set to earn over €13million per year for the next four years. He will manage his image rights independently and is expected to sign lucrative sponsorship deals with Qatari partners associated with President Al-Khelaifi’s club.

“Any potential last-minute efforts from Premier League clubs to hijack the deal seem unlikely to derail PSG’s plans at this stage.”

South Africa vs Nigeria: Super Falcons end 16-year drought to qualify for 2024 Olympics after aggregate win over Banyana Banyana

Nigeria have sealed a place at the 2024 Olympic Games after a hard-fought aggregate win over South Africa.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris after edging fierce rivals South Africa 1-0 on aggregate following a 0-0 draw in Pretoria on Tuesday.

The win over South Africa gave Nigeria passage to the Olympic Games for the first time since 2008, ending a 16-year wait for participation in the competition.

How it happened

The Super Falcons brought a 1-0 lead into the second leg of the tie after winning the first leg in Abeokuta thanks to a solitary goal.

The first half was expectedly a cagey affair as both teams cancelled each other out and the second half played to a similar pattern as the Super Falcons held on for a crucial 0-0 draw against the hosts.

South Africa 🇿🇦 0-0 Nigeria 🇳🇬 (0-1 agg)

Nigeria breaks the Olympic jinx since 2008 with a 1-0 aggregate victory over South Africa, securing qualification! We are through to @Paris2024 🎉

The Super Falcons had their best chance of the match in the second half, but Uchenna Kanu's effort went begging as the tie remained goalless.

Despite being the home side, South Africa's attack was expertly marshalled by Nigeria, and the Banyana Banyana failed to create any real openings of note to threaten the Super Falcons.

In the end, Rasheedat Ajibade’s first-half goal in the home tie was enough to help Nigeria claim a place in Paris.

South Africa Vs Nigeria: Head To Head Record
Both teams have played several times since their 7-1 win against South Africa in a 1995 World Cup qualifier in Johannesburg. They have met 24 times with Nigeria winning 15, five ended in draws and South Africa claimed victory four times.

But the South Africans are no pushovers and are expected to come out roaring when the game kicks off. To highlight how feisty of an encounter the game may turn out to be,

Nigeria’s win against them in the first leg of the qualifiers is their only victory over the Banyana Banyana in six years. Before that match, the Super Falcons have lost their last two ties against the South Africans although Nigeria have never lost to them away (in South Africa).
