In a recent chat with City People Magazine, Veteran Nollywood actorZack Orjidisclosed that he has been an ordained pastor since 2012.

The actor who is known to be an old face in the history of Nollywood, having featured in over hundreds of movies added that he did not set out to be an ordained reverend, but was called upon.

His words: “I’m also an ordained reverend, a pastor so I get invitations to minister in different churches both within and outside Nigeria. I have engagements in South Africa this October” revealed the veteran actor.

Speaking on why he decided to be a pastor, he said;

“I didn’t set out to be an ordained reverend. My bishop probably got inspired by God to ordain me. I worship with Power Line Bible Church under Bishop Lawrence Osagie, and he ordained me in 2012.”

“Even before my ordination, I had been receiving invitations from different places to come and minister. So when the offer came from my bishop to ordain me, I didn’t reject it. I took it whole heartedly and I get excited when I have opportunity to speak to people, inspire them and draw them closer to God,” he added.

During the first thanksgiving service of The Stream of Grace Church, Ikotun, Lagos in September, Zack Orji urged Christians in the North to hold on to their faith in God rather than be bittered.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a former Governor of Kebbi State, Usman Dakingari, over allegations that he laundered N3.8billion from the state while in office.

Dakingari, who is an in-law to the late President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, was detained as soon as he arrived the EFCC Headquarters.

Usman Sa’idu Nasamu Dakingari (born 13 September 1959) was elected governor of Kebbi State in Nigeria in April 2007, taking office on 29 May 2007. He is a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He was reelected on 26 April 2011.

According to Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the Chairman of the Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions Committee of the Senate, the report on Amaechi was ready and that it would be laid on Tuesday during plenary.
Although Anyanwu was silent on the content of the report on Amaechi, the Senate leader, Ali Ndume said in an interview that the former governor would be screened on Tuesday.
“Quote me, Amaechi will be screened and confirmed because he possesses the qualification to be a minister. I know you are aware that Amaechi has not been convicted of any crime,” Ndume said.

PresidentMuhammadu Buharihas stated that he won the last presidential election by the grace of God and not by money or power, adding that, the 2015 polls has clearly shown that it is God that chooses who becomes a leader. The President said this when he paid homage to the Emir of Daura, AlhajiUmar Faruk Umar, after attending the Juma’at prayer at the Lowcost Mosque, in Daura, Katsina state.
“It is not by power, it is not by wealth but by the Grace of God that I won the election,”the president said.
He also urged Nigerians to be patient and accept democracy not as a system of government but as a lifestyle in order to ensure development of the country.
“If Nigerians continuously follow the tenets of democracy the country will always be at peace since democracy on its own with its institutions has the mechanism for resolving conflicts peacefully,” he said.
