Peterlove11: The Airtel ZTE ODU is zte mc7510, and this is the review. You can also use his script to lock cell on the ODU. It works 100% . Since i have used his script to lock a particular lte cell on the ZTE, I have been having maximum speed through out the day. Try the different lte cells in your locality, the one that gives you maximum speed.Lock it. It will solve your Airtel speed issues. The ZTE ODU looks and feel more premium than the ZLT, but the ZLT IDU is better than the ZTE IDU
But I still prefer the ZLT ODU because it's interface is easy to navigate and you can lock more than one lte cell, and I do averagely have better wifi reception.
In all, both are good and they will give you excellent speed if you can lock a good cell in your environment
Him2025: Day 11 of my ODU ZTE router not working. Nobody seems to know what’s wrong, Airtel said my line has been fixed.
Thinking I just buy another one because MTN is draining data and I can’t afford Starlink yet.
I believe you're using the esim. That shit can be frustrating.
Yesterday, I turned it on after two days of being away, "no Internet access" was what I got. Fortunately for me, I have the physical sim subbed too and I put it in and it worked well.
Hours later, I removed the physical sim and the esim started working again.
If you have access to the sim port, put a sim card innit while it's on and it will immediately trigger off the esim mode. After a while, remove the simcard let the esim toggle back on. Also try messing around with the "sim switch feature".
Gshems: I am giving up on this ODU palava. 3rd day of visiting the airtel office and the nimc portal is down. I think I will just continue using my hertz 6 router
Lol, rookie numbers bro. I went there 6 times before I had my issues resolved. On 3 different occasions, it was nimc portal being down.
The 6th day, when nimc went down, I vowed that if I left without resolving my problems, I'll cut my losses and move on with life. A 25k router isn't worth the stress.
Luckily for me, nimc went through when other people's were failing.
Just be patient and make sure you go early in the morning because nimc portal gets overloaded during the day.
morikee: For the past 3 days wallahi i don tire for this constant no Internet access person can't browse for more than 5 to 10 min data access will vanish you have to either disconnect and reconnect or reboot this is very frustrating
Try disabling Single SSID and see if it helps.
When this is enabled, 2.4GHz and 5.0,GHz sometimes get to toggle between each especially when the network is bad.
yemiwills023: Do I just visit any Airtel office? Or the office of the installers? Cause the device is with the installers. They just haven’t activated it yet
.
Visit the office where you bought the device from and lay your complaints.
yemiwills023: I am facing this same issue. I paid for mine on the 11th and up till now they haven’t come to install it. The installer said they are having issues activating the device and that they can’t install without it being activated. I’m just frustrated at this point. This is the 10th day.
.
Had same issue, visit Airtel office 5 times before having a physical sim activated for it. There are issues with activating via esim.
You have to visit Airtel office else you'll be waiting a long time.
williams85: Kindly show a screenshot of the DNS.. Don’t mistake DDNS with DNS. Band lock is available but cell lock is not available for 4G/ LTE network.
dustmalik: Are you saying, when you go to Device Settings > Advanced Settings, there's no 'Band Lock' there? These are basic settings Airtel usually have on their 5G devices.
You'll find DNS and Band Lock on the ODU's settings not the IDU's
williams85: DNS server is not available on the latest Airtel ODU. 4G/ LTE cell lock is also not available. These are the major downside of the new router. If you don't have issues with these above, I think it's a good buy.
.
The settings you mentioned are available when you login to the ODU. The IDU doesn't have these settings.
Use 192.168.254.1 to login the ODU and 192.168.18.1 for the IDU.
MageSkrillex: I did toggle the sim switch option but after that I was still getting normal service for days till yesterday when it doesn’t show network again. It’s been over 24hrs
.
Best option would be to reset to factory settings, see if it helps.
What does your Wifi-Analyzer app say? Does it show you have network connection?
Tover: That's so sweet , hv U tested the Sim with a 4g router if it will work or not ... I have been to the nearest Airtel office here , they do not hv the odu
.
The ODU's sim is working very well in my x25pro. I hit a speed of 110Mbps at my office.
To extend your battery up time you can use the battery from the X25pro to power the indoor unit only while the other battery powers the ODU. This has almost doubled my uptime.
That's what I've been doing.
I power the IDU with the x25 pro's UPS and the ODU with it's own UPS. It's been perfect so far.
NSEstudent: Very promising to see this. Please confirm this is the one inscribed G5F +MF296A.
Also, when you say "had a physical sim configured", do you mean something extra other than normally registering a physical sim and inserting it in? Did they do anything else to the router to make the sim work?
Also, was the base of the router this way - showing the slot for sim card, or was a cover unscrewed?
Yes, it's the G5F + MF296A variant.
The device does not come with a simcard so getting one is more like a last resort when the esim registration fails or when you have an Airtel staff who is willing to give you the ODU enabled sim. But by default, buy this variant is basically esim subscription.
Unfaized: Good. You probably stay in a location with enough signal strength.
My signal strength is around -85db which is poor by normal standards but I still pull between 45-56Mbps. Used to do about 8-10 using X25pro at 4G+
Yeah, the network is fair. I have the x25 pro as well. Reason I got the ODU is because I moved to a new house and I only get 12/15Mbps max on the x25 which is a headache when streaming. Now I'm streaming matches on FHD with no buffers at all.
Getting the ODU is the best decision for anyone struggling with network reception on the x25 pro.
Funny thing is, I removed the sim card from the ODU, used it on the x25 pro and got 13Mbps max.
Mykcool: That’s the antenna, and there are only 2variant which are identified by the chipset used.
I don’t have any close one making use of it, but by month end my neighbor and I(still weighing my options) may get it.
Mine was initially esim but the registration failed when the installer came to my place. I took it back to their office and had a physical sim configured during my 2nd registration.
I get 70/80mbps with it sitting in my room yet to be installed.
justinguru: so for those talking about alternative means to power the ODU via powerbank ..i bought a type c to barrel jack with adjustable voltage from aliexpress.. i use a 65000 mah powerbank , i adjust the voltage to 12v to power the router as it is 12v-1a or so however the network is not really fast ..myabe cus it is powering the outdoor unit also..so i adjust the voltage to 15v and it works better.. if you go up to 20v it will trip the router
