@Pangae! remember the Ogoni issue has been there years before militancy came up, many things to say but I'll rest it here. meanwhile, this could also be a way of discouraging violence as a tool for attracting the government, meaning government can be implying; we'll give you attention if you can fight right and act right. You can remember the Ogoni issue even got to the international communities and it was their leader that took it there, he had that ghut because his people were not destroying their environment by themselves. A lot other means can be employed.
PoliticsRe: Ogoni Clean-Up: VP Osinbajo's Visit (Live Updates) by rotybarry(op): 12:54pm On Jun 02, 2016
I don't think the clean up has anything to do with the avengers.
Let's stop sympathizing with people who may be fighting the right course but with a very wrong approach, Ken Saro believed in fighting with the Pen which has always proven to be the most powerful weapon, He believed in truth and freedom championed by Pen, he wasn't fighting for what he'll eat, he was fighting for his people, he believed its best fought as an intellectual fight, that way, you can attract the world and make a good name. He believed "you can kill the messenger but you can't kill the message" he left the world with the message and today, one of it has been heard. I wish we can drop our destructive weapons and go back to pick the worlds most effective but noiseless weapon; the pen! Without bias and without any form of selfishness.
I believe in a Better Niger Delta, I believe in a Better Nigeria!

On the News now, The Executive Governor of Rivers State, The Deputy Governor, The Chairman Ogoni Council of Traditional Rulers and other dignitaries are already at the Portharcourt International Airport awaiting the President's arrival.
PoliticsRe: Ogoni Clean-Up: VP Osinbajo's Visit (Live Updates) by rotybarry(op): 9:54am On Jun 02, 2016
I saw that too but to the best of my knowledge there's no official news release on that. However, the interest of Ogoni people is the flag off of the implementation irrespective of who comes, although it would generate maximum excitement in the land if the President can appear there in person.
Live update reaching me is that all cultural groups in Ogoni are already set at the venue of the event ready to give Mr. President a rousing one-in-a-lifetime welcome.
The stage is set,
Hopes are high,
The place is heavily secured.

"Appalled by the denigrating poverty of my people who live on a richly- endowed land, distressed by their political marginalization and economic strangulation, angered by the devastation of their land, their ultimate heritage, anxious to preserve their right to life and to a decent living, and
determined to usher to this country as a whole a fair and just democratic system which protects everyone and every
thnic group and gives us all a valid claim to human civilization".

This was the cry of the unforgettable Gem of the Delta; Ken Saro Nwiwa who Believed in Truth and Freedom Championed by Pen.
Today, a new page is about to be created in history as the cry for Environmental rehabilitation has received appropriate response.
Without fear or favour, I must Congratulate PMB for his dogged determination to clean up the Niger using Ogoni as a gateway. A lot flows in the forest of my thought but I'll try to hold my pen still at this point.

Live updates of the event will be coming in shortly.

But I can guarantee its going to be a swell time in Ogoni today

I'm amazed by the level of losses caused by pest attack in the few maize farms I've visited in Portharcourt recently which is not unrelated to Climate Change.
But I still encourage everyone everywhere let's establish an empire of Mushroom production across Nigeria. I'm glad to encourage and support anyone with the knowledge and skill required.
