Health / Re: 19th June - World Sickle Cell Anaemia Day. My Story As A Warrior by Roundabout: 4:09pm On Jun 19, 2015

...if both parents aren't AS, so hw cum u re SC? Dis giving me great tot nw?
That got me wondering too. Because, ordinarily, the worst that could happen with the combination(AA+AC) was for two out of every four children to be AC,while the remaining two will be AA. So,where did the 'S' come from?...Except the Parents are AS and AC...without this, then this is strange...could there be any scientific explanation to this?
Meanwhile, I wish all the warriors in the house God's protection. Cheers.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Currently Recruiting by Roundabout: 7:52pm On Jan 19, 2015
I really don't know what to say about this recruitment exercise any longer. So many anomalies..I expected a high level of transparency in the selection process, considering the way the test was conducted. But from the comments so far ,there are too many questions begging for answers...I am yet to receive the invite too, despite a fairly high score!!!.

ok, just asking because of the misinformation usually flying around that you have to go thru conversion first there and in other federal schools even if yoy have phd grade.
Well, I won't say it is misinformation. There is an element of truth in it. Most Federal universities tend to uphold the policy of not accepting, DIRECT for PhD, interested students who did not obtain their master's degrees from their universities.

For instance, OAU and FUNAAB won't allow you to proceed, even if you graduated from UI with a PhD grade!( you will be given Mphil/PhD). UI metes out the same treatment to prospective PhD students from other universities too.

But, in FUTA, to the best of my knowledge, the basic requirement is a high PhD grade. However, they may also be using other criteria in their selection process...
