THE ROYAL PAVING PROCESS
From raw earth to a road built to outlast asphalt.

How Black Concrete Roads Are Built

Ever wondered what actually goes into a black concrete pavement — and why it outlasts asphalt by decades? Here's the full process, step by step:

1️⃣ Subgrading – The site is cleared and graded to the correct level and camber, laying the foundation for everything that follows.
2️⃣ Subbasing – Crushed stone or laterite is spread and compacted to create a stable, well-drained base layer.
3️⃣ Iron Reinforcement – Steel mesh is laid across the entire roadbed. This is what gives black concrete its strength — resisting cracks under heavy loads in a way asphalt simply can't match.
4️⃣ Black Concrete Pouring – Premium concrete, mixed with black pigment, is poured directly over the reinforcement and spread to the required thickness.
5️⃣ Concrete Shining & Finishing – Power trowels smooth and seal the surface, giving it that sleek, premium black finish.
6️⃣ Expansion Joint Cutting – Precision saw-cut joints are added at calculated intervals to control cracking as the concrete expands and contracts with temperature.
7️⃣ Road Washing – The surface is thoroughly washed to remove residue and prep it for marking and sealing.
8️⃣ Traffic Marking – Lane lines and markings are applied for clarity and safety.
9️⃣ Acrylic Sealer Application – A protective sealer locks in the finish and adds years to the pavement's service life.
🔟 Finished Job – A durable, elegant road built to handle Nigeria's traffic and climate for 40-50 years.
This is our process — precision at every stage, from the ground up.
