PC gaming is cheaper than console gaming, a $300 PC with an Athlon X4 845 and RX 460 outperforms every current console and plays every game at 1080p 60 FPS medium settings not to mention the free online gameplay, if you say PC games are too expensive, do consoles have a full collection of 3000+ free games?(steam F2P) I can order a PC game from Jumia/konga and it comes with a steam key, I get free online gameplay while you pay for your monthly online multiplayer, PCs don't get outdated as much as consoles, the minimum GPU requirement to play gta 5 is an 8800GT (Google the release date) If I built a $600 PC in 2014 (i3 4360) and R7 270X) I'd only have to upgrade once throughout the consoles lifespan ($180 RX 470) and now the consoles are already getting replaced 2 1/2 years into their lifespan completely eliminating the "I don't have to upgrade" argument. not all PC games are Cracked, YOU buy cracked games, saying you moved to console gaming because console games can't be played on PC is a laughable excuse, each platform has their own exclusives and with Microsoft merging the windows 10 platform with the XBOX there's no reason to buy an Xbox only if you're too lazy to do research on the Internet and build your own PC. in 2014 at the release of these new generation consoles, you could build a better PC for less than the consoles, I'd rather build a pc and upgrade it once rather than buying a new console and buying a new one again only 3 years later and get a newer one AGAIN throughout the 7 years (Microsoft has two more Xboxes planned within the next three years)

You chose a very wrong time to be a console gamer when you pay full price for games without any sales or pay just to get online gameplay while this is free on PC, Overwatch is $40 on pc and $60 on consoles, Thanks to AMD's GCN architectural improvements and driver optimization over time, you can use a single (mid range) graphics card over a period of six years without a single upgrade and still get better graphics/FPS than the consoles.

not to mention the usefulness of a PC, a pc can keep you alive and well with the money you can earn from doing things like

E-sports Gaming (DOTA, LoL, CS:GO)
2D animation
3D animation
3D Rendering
video editing
online jobs
cryptocurrency mining
... etc

if you're judging PCs by laptops you are making a very HUGE mistake, a 300K laptop is only equivalent to a 120K desktop at the cost of size and weight for an overall stronger computer, Laptops are extremely expensive and a $600 laptop barely catches up to a $300 PC.

I can use a four year old $500 pc with an ivy bridge i5 and HD 7850 for seven years without upgrades while making money off the same pc I built with money
