Health / Police Discover Container-load Of Fake Drugs Cleared As Brushes by Rynlesh(f): 1:48pm On Jul 26, 2020 |
Police getting calls from ‘above’ to release goods, suspects By Evelyn Usman The Police in Lagos have smashed a syndicate which specialised in importing fake and banned drugs from Pakistan to Nigeria, and cleared at the ports as scrubbing brushes. Two suspects have been arrested. In the container of ‘brushes’ were fake and contraband medicines, including antibiotics, cough syrup, abortion pills, among others, with most of them carrying the name of a popular pharmarceutical company. Vanguard gathered that policemen attached to Area ‘B’ Command, Apapa, saw some persons offloading goods from a container into a truck inside a plaza at Apapa. Suspecting something was amiss, the policemen demanded the bill of lading of the container with number SEGU 6326800 and Customs officers that ought to have escorted it to a bonded terminal. But the men at work could provide any. The Area Commander, ACP Olasoji Akinbayo, was said to have instructed his men to impound the trucks with numbers plates KTU216XG and SNK700XV The fake drugs Searched, 997 cartons of CSD with codeine cough syrup with batch number CSDD-1903; 54 cartons of tramadol tablets; 58 cartons of 250mg ampiclox syrup with batch number YK2J; I5 cartons of 20g cicatrin (3895); two cartons of CAC1000 plus (TD7L) and a carton of 125mg of amoxil syrup (SM4X) were discovered. Also discovered were 17 cartons of 10ml Zentel suspension (3M9T); nine cartons of 50ml Septran suspension with batch number 5M5W; a carton of 156.25mg augmentin (SA38); one carton (less two bottle) of 250ml Vitaglobin Syrub Iron plus Vitamins (782); 16 cartons of 10ml Mb Chlor Chloramphenicol USP (181); 23 cartons of 50ml Maxolan Metoclopramide HCI Syrup (UB4N); three cartons of Efrose Gynaecosid (P05) with NAFDAC registration number 04-4162; a carton of Stepsiril Comfort Original as well as 333 cartons of scrubbing brushes. Vanguard reliably gathered that since the discovery fake drugs and subsequent arrest of the importer, Uchenna Oreator, and the clearing agent, Uche Nwankwo, several calls from high-ranking security and paramilitary personnel have been made to prevail on the Area Commander to release the suspects and goods. During interrogation, Oreator admitted ownership of the recovered goods, adding that he bought them at cheaper rates from Pakistan. He further revealed that he declared the goods as brushes. According to him, “I got them cheaper than what the manufacturers in Nigeria are selling them. I am sorry. I know that what I did was bad. It was my first time doing it.” Police under pressure to release goods, suspects The Police, as gathered, had begun an investigation to ascertain how the goods were moved to a bonded terminal from the APMT Terminal, Apapa, and why there was no Customs officer to escort the container to the bonded terminal. Vanguard gathered that the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, also ordered his men to investigate if duty was paid to the government and also to ascertain whether the container was diverted. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Bala Elkana, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the fake drugs, said: “We have written Customs and NAFDAC. “We are working with them on this case. Updates will be given later, as the investigation is still ongoing.” Vanguard News. |

You are welcome. I a afraid they might not to renew her passport without NIN. Any location you are, take her to NIMC office at your location. They open from 8am-4pm. She should go with any of these -her birth certificate or voters card either temporary or permanent, driver’s license Or any means of identification Given to her by nigerian government. She would provide them her BVN nd she would be captured the same day. she would be given 2 slip papers to hold on to till the plastic Identification card is available. Don’t forget that Enrollment is free. Then she can proceed to nigeria immigration office at your location for renewal of her passport with the NIN paper given to her. |

Hedgefunds:I am not sure why you need a guarantor for passport renewal. If your wife wants to renew her passport, she only needs to go with her NIN nd her old passport. Nd why they ask applicants to come with old passports is that, they only want to know if the applicant truly has the old passport with her nd see if she has 6 months left before they can renew it. They would take photocopy of her NIN nd return it back with her passport immediately. You are not advice to keep any of those credentials with any officials. I was able to renewed my international passport on 17 of July 2020 at abuja Immigration office nd fortunately for me, my passport came out the same day I captured. I did the 10 years passport for #80,000. I only went with my NIN nd my old passport. I hope this information is helpful. Cheers 3 Likes |
Education / Private Schools To Resume On August 3 In Lagos State. by Rynlesh(f): 10:49am On Jul 25, 2020 |
WASSCE 2020: Private schools to resume August 3 in Lagos state. Published on July 25, 2020 By Ifreke Inyang The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) in Lagos State has said Senior Secondary School students will resume on August 3. Amusa Olawale, the president of NAPSS, Lagos State chapter, disclosed this at a media briefing on Friday. According to Olawale, there was a plan to ensure the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is conducted in September. “In the last meeting the South-West governors had with the commissioners for education, they discussed how WASSCE would be conducted in September, because if these pupils don’t sit for the exam, the 2020/2021 session will be seriously affected,” he said. Olawale added that the Lagos State Ministry of Education had given them permission to resume as long as the necessary guidelines are met. “We had a meeting with the Director General, Quality Assurance, Lagos State Ministry of Education and we shall be resuming on August 3. “We have been given clearance for reopening of schools, but if a school does not have the requirements, they won’t be allowed to resume. “For this reason, we also set up NAPPS quality assurance committee to go round and ensure our members meet up with these requirements,” he added. |

dreddboy007: I wouldn’t wana pay such money to anybody. Some People are literally looking for ways to milk stranded people u know. Nd then, assuming someone successfully get to Lome by air as they claimed. wont they isolate such person? Cause i read that Togo charges passenger for covid 19 test. So you can imagine how stressful the whole trip would be. I spoke with a friend that works at the vfs nd he told me it’s likely international flight resume by middle of august. If they can truly open by middle of august, i would rather use our airport than going through Lome. If anybody knows how we can get airlines that moves from Nigeria to outside should kindly help us. Or if we have anybody who has traveled via Lome successful should please help. |

I was told by someone that i can travel via overland airways to Lome nd from lome, i can get Ethiopian airline to Europe. She said her friend travelled back to London same way. But when i searched overland airline website to check for flight to Lome, there was none. So i also checked Togo news if there’s any news about their international airport. I confirmed that the international airport has started operating but land border is closed for tourist. I am confused on how to go about this journey cause I am stranded here nd i need to get back to my family so i have been looking for informations on how i can travel back since the airports are shut down for international. Please if anybody has traveled back through any neighboring country should kindly help. Thanks 3 Likes |
