Getting visa

A family brother of mine is in USA for a long time. I meet his father to help me discuss with him and he agreed to help. I can't communicate directly with him because we r not really close. But my main concern is the document his asking for like Birth Certificate, medical reports and the normal things like photo and intl passport. Am confused what type of visa could this be. Thanks

Pls gurus in da house, am confused about sometime and I will like to know. Please if u don't have idea about it there is no need to abuse me. Thanks
