Thanks for your view. Apart from blocking the chance of others, it's a total disqualification and against the ptdf guidelines which says ALSO NOTE THAT MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION. Nigerian are always too greedy and want everything to be theirs. Ptdf is left to decide

MULTIPLE APPLICATION in this context means apply same category of scholarship more than one time. That is multiple of LSS or multiple of OSS.

Pls be guided, I am not defending my position. I also applied for the OSS opportunity and I am expectant and praying to be selected. I am privileged to have a direct contact with Dr. Charles Ayoka, he didn't speak for PTDF. He said he heard it on TV. He gave me the information I related. I didn't see or hear this anywhere. Pls this matter should end. We should wait for a narrative that is publicly known to many. We await any valid info from ptdf either by email, their social media pages, website, news medium and so on. If someone say, or you know somebody who said this & that, it should be verifiable. For our own good.

Good morning... following invites sent to LSS applicants, information is that OSS as been suspended due to foreign exchange issues. This was said in a statement by PTDF on television. We can only be hopeful that FOREX market indices, play in our favour. This is the much I can confirm. Any genuine updates will do. Thank you.

No news media carry this info of yours. Pls be specific abt the TV station you got this info. The exchange rate for IE WINDOW/APEX BANK maintain the same rate for a long time period unchanged. So I don't understand!

From a reliable source. I was told that PTDF wants to consider OSS first instead of LSS. As results of that we that received interview invite and asked to update our profile latest before 3rd of May have not contacted for the new interview location.

If ptdf is conducting LSS first, then they should use all the locations. Unless if they want to conduct both at the same time.

I advise we wait patiently, they will contact us with regards OSS interview. They can't be doing two things at a time. As I said earlier all the interviews (LSS and OSS) should be done within May God willing. They may continue OSS interview immediately they are done with LSS applicants. They can't just cancel the OSS like that. As you await invites, try to improve your SOP (if you apply for Msc) and RP (if you apply for PhD). They will give room for information update as they did for local applicants so that you can use the updated version of your SOP or RP. I learned there are newbies in this forum because if you know nairaland before you can testify that many people emerged victorious every year. But keep in mind that for every race there are winners and losers as well. Some people do ask about accommodation and admission. Please forget everything for now and just concentrate on your interview. Securing the scholarship is far more difficult than any other things. Just pray hard and do your best. Finally, ensure to master your SOP and RP. Thank you!

How is the updated version of SOP like. Is it same maximum of 500 words or there's room for supplements?

I'm only asking because PTDF's normal Modus operandi is once they've sent out invites to shortlisted candidates, those not considered will be locked out and can't access their accounts.

And moreover, why refuse access to someone when you also plan to invite such later?

Mind you, those that applied for both LSS and OSS, and got the LSS interview invite do access their portal and can view their OSS application (except they're saying I'm wrong, which I doubt).

I'm not trying to put doubts in people's mind sha, just had these thoughts flash through my mind. I only thought to share to see if anyone has info on the plans with OSS, and if it is that they've got no plans for it this year, that people kuku move on to other stuffs.

Please how do we pay for university accommodation? I have no experience how the payment should be. Do ptdf pay directly or student pay from his stipend? Is living on campus better or off campus?

Be scoping yourself.......All of them are northerners calling the shots at the Ptdf tower. Stop painting the bitter truth colourful.

I was a beneficiary in 2016/2017 OSS so I know what m talking abt.

If they're all northerners and they offered you as a southerner the scholarship, then we should be hopeful this year. It show that they are not nepotist and doing a great job. Before I was scared that not been a northerner I will not have a chance....

I heard that the interview would be conducted after the Eid break. The reason for the delay has been the fasting by the northerners and they are the ones that head the PTDF. So after the celebrations, all stages would proceed. Best of luck to us all.

I don't think it has anything to do with northerners been the heads of the ptdf. What I think is, Nigeria comprises of multiple religions which Muslims can at least be given privilege for consideration because of fasting. It's not easy fasting, traveling and attending interview at the same time. And I'm sure within ptdf you'll find southerners also among the heads.

You need it. when you're called for interview. They'll ask for it.

I start to have a thought that it's not reasonable for govt to send student abroad for studies while it institutions are closed. This might be the reason we're experiencing this delay. Govt is scared of condemnation from ASUU, groups, and public. IS LIKE WE ARE AFFECTED BY ASUU PANDEMIC.

Is this delay has to do with forthcoming 2023 election. Is like the government attention is moving in that direction now. A lot of fund are divert for campaign yo. Just maybe.

Not only engineering, many other disciplines. But not all disciplines. As ptdf has approved courses of study same as the universities. What I will advice you is go to their site and check awardees database, you'll see all the courses awarded so far. Take 2021/2022 as your case study for example.

Before I was given a conditional offer as part of the application I sent statements of purpose SOP. But now again the school is asking me Offload SOP Supplements. The word supplements get me confused in this context. What I'm I suppose to do?

I got admission for MSc. But there's is a requirement attached with the admission offer which I don't understand. The thing is they are saying I should pay 34% of my tuition fee as part of the requirements for the conditional offer. What can I do as ptdf applicant?

Based on previous year those who chooses Germany are give privilege to change interview location.

I don't think there is confirmed info for now. But pls anyone who received a mail concerning the interview should make it known publicly in this platform. And stated your center for the interview. It will help others from your center to know their stands.

Hi everyone. I think this is not rocket science. Like someone said, it's free to apply for MSc in any UK university at your comfort zone. Why wait for PTDF? I have attempted this scholarship once, they didn't ask if I had secured admission or not. But i think Whether or not PTDF requires you securing admission yourself, you'll be a step ahead of Mr. A or B who hasn't by the time you're shortlisted for the scholarship. So why not go ahead and do just that? My position on this. Thank you

The earlier the better. Like me now the course I want to apply at university of Southampton is already close last week. I have look for the other two university choices I have. Most of the admission on UK universities close before June because of visa processing and other stuff. Not only UK but other countries as well.

Any expectations of feedback from ptdf soon? For those that have experience of it or know someone who had.

PTDF have categorically stated in the advert that it will not be responsible for your admission, candidates have to process for admission themselves. To cut it short for the sake that argument all of you should revisit the advert again and read all through. SECURE YOU ADMISSION BEFORE THE INTERVIEW OR AFTER. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DO THAT BEFORE ADMISSION IS CLOSE. Normally PTDF list used to come out after most schools have close application. That is why some people defer it next the following year.

Whatsapp is a good idea but once the group end, all the ideas and discussion die with it. Platform like nairaland, the information is there for many years to come and people will be reading and benefiting from what we talked. I think we should manage this one for others sake.
