giselle237: Check at the top How much are you planning PERSONALLY to spend? You filled 1000 pounds which is same thing ECO said. It has been reiterated here, personally to spend question she should fill in 400 pounds if that is what she is bringing and not 1000 pounds. As ECO said 1000 pounds is more than 5 times her disposal income. Her income is low! Very low. It is what she filled they judged on. What they goofed on is that she said no one will be spending on the trip when in actual fact, she mentioned a sponsor. Note that it is the applicant’s own circumstances that are taken into consideration not sponsor and that’s what ECO has mentioned. To be honest, no one will give you a visa with this salary to the UK in present times. 350k and you want to visit UK? As in not a mandatory trip, not a medical trip… tourism trip with 350k. The country is currently under tension because of the number of overstayers and illegal immigrants so I am not surprised with the refusal letters flying about. Not like you are visiting a brother or sister… You just want to visit. What happens when you get stuck financially? There will be issues and you will go and claim taxpayers funds. So they are being proactive now. No flimsy reasons for UK visa. They want people with low economic and lack of strong home ties to go to other countries. You can file a complaint and see what becomes of it. Search the thread for it. Please any help about how to get with the letter .... i have gotten the email and even the link to complain online , ,please do i need a lawyer for the write up or i can just do it myself and point out the facts ..?? |

Good morning and Good day House, I have a 5 years visa ,but my wife and 2 kids visa was refused on the basis that i cant sponsor them all with my income ,now i want to re apply for only my wife, leave the kids behind as ties and sponsor only my wife.
My main question is can i transfer funds to her account as sponsor with a cover letter and not drop my account statement and also attached previous refusal Letter.
Also should i indicate we would be travelling together for vacation/wedding aniversary or i should just opt totally and just sponsor
NOTE.we have family friend in the uk as sponsor for accomodation all through the stay and also Different picture evidence with sponsor.
This are the refusal reason
• You state your sponsor(husband) will be funding by paying 350 GBP towards your visit. I note your husband has been issued Visit Visa to the UK. However, the linked applicants are assessed on their own merits. I note the income of your sponsor. Also, now appears to be incurring significantly greater expenditure as he will be funding towards the whole family trip. This total expenditure no longer appears proportionate to your sponsor stated income.
• In determining your application, I must consider your and your sponsor current financial circumstances and the number of people who are dependent on your funds or on sponsor funds to travel to the UK. After an overall assessment of your visa application I am not satisfied if you granted leave to enter as a visitor along with your whole family, that you will comply with all the conditions attached to any such leave or that you will leave the UK on completion of the proposed visit
• Also, you have not established any strong ties to your country of origin to demonstrate that you intend to leave the United Kingdom on completion of a short visit. This means that, on the documents before me, I am not satisfied that you have accurately presented your circumstances or intentions in wishing to enter the UK.
• Considering all the above, I am not satisfied that you intend to leave the United Kingdom or that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor. Your application is therefore refused under paragraph V4.2 (a) and (c).
I am welcome to advice and ideas please
Thank YOu |

giselle237: Unfortunately, this is why you or them will still be refused. Your circumstances have not changed + the profile was made up! The previous salary was too long at 350k per month am talking about a fresh application with 6 month fresh statements The person was denied due to the exchange rate tha affected the 3 months calc. SO the question is Can salary be increase for a fresh 6 month bank state |

codernoni: Goodday gurus. I am a self employed trader . I applied for a visit visa in 2023 but was rejected with the ECO stating that the information that I provided does not demonstrate the annual financial position of my business or the level of annual income stated...
Now, i want to reapply next year but i want to get the best advice so i can have a better application
First of all, is my business YEARLY income referring to net profit or entire turnover ?
Im asking because during my last application which was rejected , i stated 18m (which was net profit for the previous year) but currently my turnover for 2024 was over 600m and net profit of 120m and this year i expect it to be slightly higher.
If i put such figures , i am afraid it may seem i am trying to package my application . Should I reduce it to something more believable ?
I don't have much of suppliers invoice as i get most of my goods from my chinese supplier and the whole transaction is done on Wechat and WhatsApp .
Which other way can i prove my income How do i convince the ECO that my business is earning that amount as i don't pay tax (and honestly not willing to pay 40m as tax to Nigerian govt just cos of visa) Or do all self employed submit tax clearance certificates before they are issued a visa?
How else do i demonstrate that? I had submitted 5 months corporate account bank statement , CAC certificate (it was active).
I also pay myself a salary of 1m (i can always adjust this based on your advice, i am CEO lol), and it will be reflected in my bank statement . I also plan to deposit upto 8m in piggyvest to show as my SAVINGS.
Im also worried about the amount to state thst I'm willing to spend on my trip before ECO will soon start saying that it is 6x my monthly income and decline my application again.
Your suggesstions are highly welcome Cc giselle237 cashmadam et al if you want to use your company paying you salary , get ready to submit your tax as well and company must be active, also you must declare your annual returns if u get 1m per money and you spend 200k per month out of it , they would be calculating 800k x 3 with is 2.4m ( thats the amount you can spend on your trip for 2 weeks they don care about huge funds in account. after all that done , are you married , do you have kids ,cos all that would also count as home ties apart from your account or properties cos they even hardly care about properties this days since documents can be done . |

giselle237: @tailadivaaaa You have the option to submit a Personal Appeal Petition (PAP) or an official complaint if you believe there has been an error or unfair treatment. These days it looks like there are more refusals anyway for first timers. From my perspective, I personally don’t see your husband securing a UK visa without addressing these issues:
1. Given that your husband claims an annual income of 27 million, it would be reasonable to expect that he can fund his trip independently. Currently, he has only submitted bank statements and CAC documents to support his business, which may not be sufficient. It would be helpful to provide additional documentation such as tax certificates, invoices, MOUs, or other official documents that demonstrate the legitimacy and activity of his business. This could help establish that his self-employment status is genuine rather than a strategy to facilitate the visa application. The ECO may have felt that the current documents didn’t fully substantiate his claims about his income and business activities. And yes a 1 year bank statement could further prove his true financial standing. Why did you submit low bank statements also? Is it because you were sponsoring? Sadly with or without sponsor it is the applicant’s situation that matters.
2. Allow the UK visas for your children to expire before he reapplies. When you do, emphasize that your children will remain in Nigeria during the trip, which shows their strong ties to Nigeria. These children can serve as a solid indication of your family’s roots and commitments in Nigeria, which can strengthen the case that your husband will return after his visit as you and him cannot abandon your young children to go and live illegally in the UK.
3. Your husband needs to establish his own travel history. Since he currently has no significant economic ties to Nigeria—possibly because his financial profile may have been inflated for the purpose of this visa application—it's important to show that he has traveled elsewhere before, and that he has not overstayed visas in other countries. Demonstrating a consistent travel record and proof that he can sponsor other journeys without overstaying can help build trust that he will adhere to the terms of his visa this time as well. Your travel and immigration history can not be given to him. 4. Sorry about the refusal.
5. In the UK they take addresses on bank statements very seriously as a bank statement is also used here as one of the proof of addresses. In the past when I was applying for visit visas these were never picked upon but it looks like things have changed. A few days ago another refusal for different address on bank statements was on this thread. Looks like it is a new thing. The koko is they hardly want husband and wife or family into the country on visitors visa ,cos most are doing that and eventually seeking asylum ... Its either Husband goes alone or wife travel alone with the kids ,cos even if you have huge funds from salary/work , they would still complain of home ties . |

Milito: Biometrics on 17th April, Ikeja. Decision email yesterday 8th May. Collected today 9th May.
It was successful. 2 yrs given
I got 6 months, which I used once last year after 2 previous refusals. After my last year UK visit, I've also made 2 separate Euro trips.
I applied with the usual documents, but didn't write cover letter this time around. Last year I wrote detailed cover letter addressing previous refusals. This time, I packaged my thoughts in the extra notes column at the last section of the form.
Documents - hotel reservation - employment letter - promotion letter - letter from employer indicating I've been approved to go on leave and also that employer is sponsoring the vacation. - Employer account statement - Employer CAC documents & tax clearance. - personal account statement with 2m plus. - family documents, marriage and children birth certificates - previous visas and stamps - pictures taken during previous travel and also that of family. - monthly expense declaration of 1m. - budget for trip 3,500 pounds. -Personal amount committed towards trip 500 pounds.
Did not put cover letter, ticket reservation, pension account, personal tax clearance and landed property this time around eventhough I put all of them for my 1st UK visa last year.
Thank you Nairaland folks for your free advice and tips from time to time. 🙏🏾 🙏🏾 wow Happy for you .... Hopefully i get mail from VFS today or monday ,we did submission on the 16th of April |

Tailadivaaaa: Good afternoon all. I am finding this trend very useful. A big thank you to all the contributors. I am supporting my husband for a visiting visa application and I provided my bank statements. We intend to travel together. I already have my visa. I got a call from the bank today saying they want to confirm if I provided the statements in support of his application as they have to confirm to the visa office. I thought it was a bit weird as I wasn’t aware this was a thing . That was all she asked and I answered in the affirmative. I just want to know if this is normal procedure as I haven’t heard about it before. Thank you. banks hardly call customers to confirm if they drop statement for sponsor or not ,i guess this is a new development. |
