Honestly,I'm short of words from what I heard this afternoon,we were attended to by the deputy dean(prof. Yinka) he said there is no more bedspaces,that the school has 9,600 bedspaces,and they admitted 6,406 freshers,that they can only accommodate 3,400 freshers. The issue is from the school,but the school won't listen to you @ this moment,because there are many students*almost 850 students* having problem of unconfirmed payment,if you want it to be adressed asap,mail the HQ of the bank,and tell them to send a staff in Ife to the school computer centre with the slip generated after the payment. That's was what I did,and I got confirmed the following day,I tweeted the complain on the bank(FBN) twitter handle. Alanpoza: |

THE University of Ibadan (UI) has concluded plans to commence annual screening of its students and establish students welfare board. This followed the death of a 200-level student of the department of Health Education and Human Kinetics, Mayowa Alaran, last week. Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Isaac Adewole, made this known while addressing a press briefing on the outcome of the committee set up to look into the remote and immediate cause of the unfortunate incident. Professor Adewole said the report would help to improve the service delivery at the University Health Services Unit (UHS). He regretted that the committee could not really ascertain the actual cause of death of Alaran, because the family decided to give him immediate burial rite, according to their religion. Adewole, however, said the university wouldcommence annual screening of students, to ascertain the status of their health. He noted that happenings during the period gave the management an insight into the fact that some students were either hiding their ailment or had even developed new ones while in school, which are not in their records. The vice chancellor promised that the institution would forestall future occurrence, adding that ambulances would all be put on alert in case of emergency. He also said aside decentralisation of health posts across some hostels, the institution had concluded all arrangement to improve services rendered at Jaja Clinic.
