It took not less than 30 people, mostly hunters armed with local weapons to kill a hippopotamus that had been disturbing the fisherman and the farmlands. This occurred today in the ancient village of Jebba in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.It took the 30 hunters who were armed with spears of various sizes, shapes and guns, about 7 hours of ceaseless attacks on the beast that had gone wild before it could be killed. after a whole days battle that had started at about 9.00 am, the animal could not be subdued until after 3.00 pm, when it was finally killed.
