Each time I read how government officials extort Uberbolt drivers, my heart bleeds.

There’re many reasons why these things why we fall victims such as greed, misinformation and lack of concentration

Am gonna try and be helpful on the part of misinformation

Am gonna list some lastma/police/task force/local government touts hotspots

On the island

No parking and stopping on the entire stretch of marina and broad street, the only authorized drop off and pick up point for Uberbolt is oando filling station marina

Also no stopping at CMS bus stop both in front of that church and under the foot bridge.

No stopping or parking on the entire stretch of st Gregory’s road or any of the inner street off the street except you’re dropping Off a resident of that particular street, also no stopping or parking on the entire stretch of awolowo road ikoyi

No parking along that ikoyi passport office road, you can drop off and wait a bit but don’t park and switch off your engine, they have eyes all around

Also if you’re to park on those streets off Alfred rewane be very watchful and don’t sleep off because they patrol from time to time

Eko hotel round about is another place to be very careful about, if you’re sharp you can quickly drop off there and move sharply

Then another problem with Victoria island is that they’re many one way roads which the signs are hidden or not visible, I can’t vividly describe the streets here with texts but once you’re in VI and you’re trying to enter a street look out for signs or better still park and ask to be sure.

The newly built traffic lights at 1st and 2nd roundabout in lekki is a bit confusing, if you’re trying to make a u-turn, look out for the correct sign and turn there, else those lastma and police officers are milking people dry on a daily basis, don’t fall victim pls.

Ajah under bridge is also a hot spot

From Abraham adesanya down to epe is a bit relaxed

Now we come to mainland

First on the list is Ikeja, during the day there’s no safe spot on Ikeja except the inner inner streets of GRA and Allen area, Ikeja is very notorious for traffic offenses so it’s better you avoid them but I’ll still share some hotspots

Kodesoh street inwards GRA, if you’re not turning right towards airport road, don’t stay on the extreme right, it will be termed obstruction and watch out for the traffic light there, they change very fast

Under bridge too,if you’re not sure where you’re going just stay in the middle lane, another thing to note if you must press your phone or receive calls around Ikeja be very watchful too and vigilant

Ade niyi Jones to connect oba akran traffic light, pls don’t try and beat it because those task force policemen on bikes are always there and will give you a hot chase

Airport road, for no reason whatsoever must you stop on the entire stretch of airport road from international down to local, don’t ever ever stop or park, if you wanna pick someone just drive into the car park and wait, don’t try to be smart about it

If you’re to pick a rider at MM1 tell him or get to come in to the car park

If you’re to pick at MM2 you can pick from the arrival pick up point or car park but make sure you don’t pick or drop off a rider when you’re on the zebra crossing, that offense alone Na 50k and most importantly don’t waste time while picking up, if you don’t see the rider yet keep moving and circle round back into the airport until you see him or her

If you’re to pick at international airport tell the rider to come inside the car park not outside oh, it must be inside after the barrier else they will clamp and tow your car away

Most importantly when you’re around Ikeja you should be very smart and watchful and don’t park anyhow

Yaba is another hotspot that you don’t park anyhow on the streets except you go into the inner and isolated streets and also watch out for one way roads, another area notorious for one way roads is shomolu and bariga, I don’t really know much about those areas because I don’t go there

Surulere The traffic light in front of stadium to turn into Alhaji masha road be very careful lastma guys are always on the prowl, there’s also a turning if you miss it don’t try and turn at the next one,if you’re caught no stories oh

Also be careful around aguda area, there’re some no parking zones around there, even if you wanna park just be watchful and smart about it, the local government tours there no get joy at all

So for now these are the ones I can easily remember, the rest places I hardly go to and if I go I don’t waste time and am very vigilant before I leave there

Places like egbeda, agege, iyana ipaja, ayobo, ikotun, ikorodu, abule egbaland, ogba, somolu, bariga, igando I hardly go to these places

Places where you rarely have issues are festac, ago palace way, mile 2,ajegunle,okoko,satellite town, iba

Some other hot zones

Alakija under bridge
Apple junction(not always)
Iganmu bridge

That will be all for now

Stay safe and God bless us all

Very accurate list

Note also, Fatai Atere and that smooth wide road that branches left off it to come out beside First Bank on Ladipo road (both inside Mushin)

Nothing bad about scolding the mother....that's what you get when you refuse to train/guide your child properly.

Sabi man...most of these idìots rolling dirty yansh around, bragging that they are mothers should've been neutered before puberty.

They proudly populate the society with deviants and misfits yet a she-goat would have done a better job at raising offspring

Well you call it greed because that’s how you see it. He sees it as maximizing his time and resources. Hey if he can get away with it, why not? But he should also know not to come here and ask for assistance if he gets into trouble doing it.

He knew all the risks and still risked it all!

Look at you shouting greed like you’ve not done worse before. We all have had that moment bro so stop that thing.

Can you comfortably do business with that dude his risk appreciation and business ethic is obviously very bad.

People like him were the ones using lockito in those days, people who can fùck up a million naira transaction because of 50 naira wey dem want chop under the table...inordinate ambition/greed is a destiny killer

Or maybe he has some offline customers that pay him big money. I know a guy on hp too who pays 30k but he doesn't work most of the days because he has some big boys customers. Sometimes they travel and spend a week in hotel. Only God knows what they are into. Any owner-partner that put yoke on driver-partner neck should just know that anything can happen any time any day

Big money, big risk

Those are most likely yahoo boyz. God forbid, any day EFCC bust them for hotel will be the last time he sees his car. Unless after months of impoundment he will now cough up like 500k

Bolt is extremely smart with this method of rating that uses an average of 40 trips. The model makes it very easy for your ratings to drop and very difficult to rise. I'll explain why.

Let's say your last 38 trips were smooth with 5 star ratings but rider 39 and rider 40 gave you 1 and 2 stars.

Your total rating is (5*38) + (1×1) + (2*1) which equals 193. This gives an average rating 4.83 when divided by 40.

Now this is where it gets interesting. Let's say your next 10 riders gave you 5 star each. What bolt will simply do is remove the first 10 5 stars you got and replace with this latest set of 5 stars.

Guess what? Your total rating is still 193 and your average will remain at 4.83. For you to experience any increase in rating, 39 riders must give you 5 stars. The 39th rider who gives you a 5 star will now push out the 1 star the previous rider 39 gave you.

Total rating will now be 197 calculated as (5*39) + (2×1) with an average of 4.92.

This explains why you'll see people complain that riders are giving them 5 stars but ratings don't improve. Its the bolt model and is designed to crawl when rising and to drop as fast as possible.

***I hope my explanation is clear, thats the best I was able to do. Ayam not a teacher.****

They rate using the last 40 trips. Very very unfair system designed to make drivers lick the ãss of their riders...but hey it's their platform and they just trying to make money

What is abominable is the less than adequate verification/ID system they use for riders, that has cost a lot of drivers their very lives. It's very easy for criminals poorly documented riders to register on the platform for the sole purpose of robbing and/or killing the drivers.

The offroad network coupled with traffic and the fact bolt does not guarantee transactions only means that drivers are getting ripped off as a standard...you risk life and limb and your car gets junked out by the time you've recovered the cost of it, you only make money when you are able to unload that dead car on a gullible/desperate buyer
