It will look difficult at first but remember that if you become broke, nobody will save you.

I drive a 2006 Toyota Corolla Sport. The engine and transmission are in good condition, but whenever I switch on the air conditioner, the car feels heavy, sluggish and make some noise as if it’s climbing a hill. Once the AC is turned off, it drives perfectly.
What could be causing this, and what is the solution?

Have you scanned it? Post codes if you have.

Also, a couple of things can cause this.

1) Check your belt and tensioner. The belt may be bad and be slipping when the extra load of the AC system is on it. If there's any whining sound from it, that maybe the cause. Check the fan speed too when the AC is on.

2) Listen to your compressor when the AC is turned on, preferably with your bonnet on. If you hear any grinding or rough running, the compressor bearing or the clutch plate may be faulty.

3) Have the throttle body cleaned professionally, check the mass air flow (local mechanics call it air philometer ) , have the plugs checked and also check for any vacuum leaks.

4) check your engine mounts. If they are bad, they might be contributing.

You can also take it to an ac shop and also them to check the gas inside, if it's too much. Too much pressure can also be an issue for your AC system.

I'm sure the problem is in one of these things I've mentioned.
