I know that road. It was newly coated with asphalt but the heavy rains didn't even let it dry and solidify before damaging it and causing huge erosion close by. Is Iran importing fuel? If a country with enormous oil resources can refine and supply its own people, why is Nigeria, one of the world's major oil producers, still heavily dependent on imported petrol?

Why can't the government simply do its basic job and keep our refineries working?

For decades, billions have supposedly been spent on rehabilitation, maintenance and turnaround projects, yet Nigerians are still being told that importing fuel is somehow inevitable. Yet, Dangote with just one refinery is able to take care of our consumptions and even have leftovers to export.

And now, instead of government taking responsibility for a strategic national resource, we have essentially left a huge part of the fuel supply chain to the dictates of private business.

Let's be very clear: a businessman is not running a charity.
His responsibility is to make profit and increase his net worth. He is not obligated to sacrifice his business interests because Nigerians are suffering.
That responsibility belongs to government.
Government's responsibility is to protect the public interest, ensure energy security, encourage competition, prevent exploitation and create an environment where Nigerians can actually afford to live.

So after removing fuel subsidy for nearly three years, what exactly have ordinary Nigerians gained?

Has transportation become cheaper?

Is healthcare better?

What is the minimum wage?

Has food become cheaper?

Has electricity become cheaper?

Has manufacturing become cheaper?

Have wages increased proportionately?

Has the average Nigerian's quality of life improved?

If the answer is NO, then Nigerians have every right to ask: what exactly was the purpose of all this suffering?

You cannot keep telling people to endure hardship while government keeps failing at the most basic responsibilities.

Nigerians are not stupid.

We are tired.

We are angry.

And we are increasingly asking the most uncomfortable question of all:

At what point does government stop asking citizens to sacrifice and start sacrificing itself?

Good Evening guys, Thank you all for your input, I finally got a clean 2014 se Camry from Lagos and I must say its way too clean from Engine to Body. I really did my research before getting this one.
However the car it too low and I think its a general problem with Saloon cars on Nigerian roads. It came with 225/45/18 Tyre. I would love your input on the right tyre to use in order to slightly raise the car to avoid touching bumpy roads.
Some people are suggesting I do the shock raise by 1/2 inch.
Please kindly assist me
