I am always wary of people that make untenable excuses.

Excuses and stupidity are dangerous twins that have devastating effects on anything they touch.

We are seeing this being played out in Italy right now with heavy causality.

My random thoughts as I penned this post are stated below:

Everyone is under risk, particularly the corrupt public officials and politicians who travels
No outside or overseas treatment for anyone now.
Those who steal public fund and hire SAP to enable them travel abroad for a 'doctored' ailments are no where to be found now.
Orji Kalu inprison may be better than them now.

Those who have stolen Million and Billions in US Dollars of commonwealth money have no rest now.

Those with perceptual injunctions and cannot be probed for stealing commonwealth are not immuned

The seemingly powerful and untouchable ones playing gods are being found a liar and are being harassed by the deathly virus.

Isn't it time to return the stolen money, build world class hospitals and schools and send Nigerian children to school?

Those who make laws and think they are above the laws are being hunted by the deadly virus they brought from their funky trips abroad.

Isn't it time for the religious hypocrites to have a rethink? The mal-administrators, the highly corrupt ones and those that ruled with impunity are mainly religious people under the guise of being a good Muslim or Christian.

Isn't it time we render help to our neighbours? Government seems helpless. Many people are poor and broke at this locked up time. Even this writer is very broke at this moment but is still doing his best to help those in need.

A truly religious person's task is to help the needy and visit the orphans. This is the time. No better time!

The kidnappers, the armed robbers and the yahoo-yahoo fraudsters should be sober and change their ways now.

Isn't it time to create employment for our youths?

Let us change our ways: Perhaps God will have mercy on us. The world is having its Sabbath of rest from all our evil ways. Repent !

Truly there is no God like the Lord. Everyone should seek for mercy at this time.

COVID-19: GOVERNMENT UN-ENDING LOCK DOWN STATEMENTS WITHOUT ANY PLAN IN PLACE TO AMELIORATE THE HARDSHIP BEING FACED BY THE CITIZENS.

Apart from the usual statements of lock downs by the federal and state governments to curtail the spread of Coronona-Virus, COVID-19, there seems to be no plan in place or any palliative measures in place to help the citizens to enable them adjust to the current reality. The economic and social implication of this pandemic is getting out of manageable proportion.

For instance, electricity supply, which has always been epileptic, was never addressed nor seen as a necessity by the govt to assist families going through the lock down period. Second, one would have expected the various govts at the federal and state levels to set up free medical testing centres. This was deliberately omitted.

Other palliative measures would have been to address how the teeming unemployed people, the disabled, the aged and those who are out of jobs would be helped in these trying times. None of these areas have been touched by any of the govt at any level.

The latest lock down directive is coming from the Rivers State government, ordering a complete lock down of air, sea and land accesses into and out of the city of Port Harcourt! According to the Governor Nyesom Wike, it was just because an infected person was caught in Abuja, who had beaten all security posts, and was to board a flight to Port Harcourt city. While the total lock down seems commendable on the surface, this writer finds some aspects of it absurd and punitive and is capable of exacerbating an already tensed situation.

As usual, the Governor failed to address: how the city dwellers will have access to food if all vehicular movement is disallowed, the State not being a food producing on; how the city’s medical and medicine needs will be met; and most importantly how to improve electricity supply within the period when people are forced to stay indoor? Consequently, crime may increase due to the presence of hungry, employed youth that are roaming the street, among other vices.

Gov Wike should proceed to urgently conclude the current recruitment process of the medical personnel in the State (Doctors, Medical Labs, etc) to compliment the decayed health care delivery. He should allow vehicles bearing food and medicine move freely into the State and urgently address the re-current black out prevalent in the city. Other State governments should tow this line in earnest.

While we should heed govt directives at all times, we should equally demand better condition for the citizens and make every effort not to panic. We had faced terrible times in the past and we have always overcome by the mercy of God.

My question now is what is the government at all levels doing in this terrible time to ameliorate the unfortunate pandemic at hand as it affects the good people of Nigeria?

Politics / Re: Borno Gov Donates Sambisa Forest For RUGA by samglo: 10:24am On Aug 14, 2019
THE NEED TO ESTABLISH SAMBISHA FOREST AGRICULTURE EXPORT PROCESSING ZONE AS A PANACEA TO THE PERENNIAL BOKO HARAM/HERDSMEN-FARMER MENANCE IN NIGERIA.

‘You never change things easily by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.’ B. Fuller

The menace that Boko Haram and Herdsmen-Farmers crisis portent for Nigeria and indeed the West African sub-regions is best imagined in the light of what we have seen thus far which has resulted in tremendous loss of lives, properties and displacement of people leading to the creation of IDP camps. This is besides the enormous financial costs and the attendant corruption resulting in exacerbation of the crisis as evidenced by the recent past regime.
If we don’t want the enemy stronghold to thrive, the present territory occupied by Boko Haram must be taken and the area turned into productive use. The only feasible use Sambisha forest could be turned into is for a vast integrated agro based industry including making it the first agro export processing zone in the North of Nigeria. The rampaging Fulani Herdsmen can also be curtailed in their non-co-ordinatedroaming, by setting up colonies and ranches for them in Shambisha forest. This writer will be least surprised if it was found later that besides the big men and corrupt politicians who actually own the cattle being managed by the herders, who are fomenting troubles all over the country, Boko Haram occupation of the Sambisha forest may have contributed to the Fulani Herdsmen’s displacement from the forest, hence the tension in the land in their quest to get a greener pasture for their flocks.
The strength of the small territory of Britain in the world affairs today and tomorrow is their ability to utilise the Roman’s concept of colonialism yesterday and neo-colonialism todayto have a grip on world affairs. While it is no longer fashionable or even realistic to use colonial method against a country’s neighbour, we need to use this method internally to suppress and manage internal crisis on the principle of carrot and stick basis. In the case of current happening, the dangled carrot was rejected and despised by the insurgents who have no fear of death; as such government have resorted to using the stick approach against them. The stick approach also is no longer effective as expectedand has become counter-productive. For example, school girls are being rounded up and kidnapped, perhaps for various ransom purposes, including outright extortion to bargaining for prisoner swap with the government.

Finally we are beginning to do practical reasoning. Kudos to Governors of Borno and Kano States
RUGA should only apply to the best States like this

I quoted copiously from the speeches of these great men that are speaking forthrightly about the progress of the Northern States in particular and Nigeria in general.

Aliko Dangote is walking the talk! Emir Sanusi, an exceptional man. *El-Rufai* is a man committed to transformation of the Northern States: One State at a time. Other Governors should emulate him.

Peace and progress in the Northern States is good for the stability and advancement of country as a whole.

I am passionate about transforming this nation for good: for the generations to come

“He noted that 60 per cent of northerners lived in extreme poverty, saying it was unacceptable for a people with vast arable land for agriculture to live in poverty.”

“The North must focus on harnessing its massive agricultural potential in terms of both production and processing. No region with high such agricultural potential should be this poor.”

Aliko Dangote
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 4:07pm On Apr 09, 2019
“We have what it takes to turn around our fortunes and I pray all the 19 governors of the northern states will wake up and follow the footsteps of the Kaduna State Government.”

“Given the vast arable land and conducive condition, I think in the next 10 years, agriculture can generate more revenue and prosperity than oil that we have now if we have the right commitment.”

“He also told governments in the region to identify their areas of comparative advantage, adding that the provision of information and data on what was available in various states was equally necessary.”

According to him, efforts should be made to encourage local investors because “they will attract foreign investors.”

“While the overall social economic consideration in the country is a cause for concern, the regional indicators are very alarming. In the north-western and north-eastern parts of Nigeria, more than 60 per cent of the population lives in extreme poverty.”

“It is instructive to know that the 19 northern states, which account for over 54 per cent of the country’s population and 70 per cent of its landmass, collectively generated only 21 per cent of the total sub-national internally generated revenue in 2017.”

Aliko Dangote - Africa’s richest man and President of the Dangote Group.
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 4:06pm On Apr 09, 2019
“I agree with Aliko Dangote, our governors are part and parcel of our problem especially in the area of corruption. These governors are engaged in massive stealing, corruption and waste of public resources.”

Alhaji Balarabe Musa – Former Governor and Northern Elder Statesman
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 4:05pm On Apr 09, 2019
“We still have arable land and a growing population of young, energetic but jobless people roaming the streets but our governors are not providing the right kind of leadership to turn this population into a useful force in our farms.”
Alhaji Tanko Yakasai – Northern Elder Statesman
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 4:04pm On Apr 09, 2019
“What is required of the Federal Government are the right policies as well as provision of power and other infrastructure because the governors own all the land in Nigeria and land is key to agriculture. Dangote is absolutely right on this.”
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 4:03pm On Apr 09, 2019
Emir Sanusi urged the region “not to use the oil rich Niger delta, commercially viable Lagos and business oriented south east to mirror the living standard of the North. If there are all of these things, we wont have Boko Haram and other people bombing our pipelines.”

Socio-economic development will surely bridge the gap between the North and the South, if advantage is taken of the vast underutilised lands for agriculture purposes
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 4:00pm On Apr 09, 2019
He also disclosed Dangote Group will be considering investing in dairy production in Kaduna state, saying the trend of importing 98 per cent of milk consumed in Nigeria at the rate of $1.3 billion is unhealthy coupled with the fact that the imported milk is unhealthy.

Sambisha or Kaduna-Abuja Road forests may be a better place to site such industry for security and economic development!
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 3:57pm On Apr 09, 2019
“Private investment will create jobs and will ameliorate the twin problem of poverty and unemployment.

“As more people are gainfully employed, you will witness a very sharp decline in some of the disturbing social vices prevalent in our society, especially among the youths.”

I must agree with Dangote on this too.
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 3:56pm On Apr 09, 2019
“Closing the gap requires multi years investment and goverment will not be able to raise the require capital funding, only the private sector can raise the capital to fund the level of investment that this country needs.”

He went on: “Therefore, government must create the conducive environment that will trigger a huge inflow of private capital into attractive sectors of the economy.”

I agree with Dangote on this that government has a responsibility of creating an enabling conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
Politics / Re: Political & Practical Solution To Transforming Sambisha Forest To End Unrest. by samglo: 3:55pm On Apr 09, 2019
“The North certainly has no business with poverty but we are certainly not making progress with the kind of leadership we have both at the federal level and in the various northern states today.”

“And that is why we are always saying the biggest challenge that we have and what we have been praying for is to have 10 governors like Mallam Nasir El-Rufai to move the northern Nigeria forward.” Aliko Dangote - Africa’s richest man and President of the Dangote Group.
