Two policemen were, in the early hours of Sunday, killed during an encounter with a six-man robbery gang that attacked a second generation bank’s Automated Teller Machine, ATM, at Ipaja area of Lagos State.

Vanguard gathered that the two officers met their untimely death when a team of policemen responded to a distress call from the bank.

The robbers attempted to break open the ATM, when the policemen from Ayobo Police Division arrived on the scene and the robbers opened fire on them, killing the team leader, Longus Amuzie, an Assistant Superintendent of Police and one other.

The other policemen were said to have called for backup.

The officer in charge of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Abba Kyari, swiftly deployed a team of operatives to the area and four members of the gang were arrested.

Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, while confirming the report, said the robbery was foiled, adding that no money was stolen from the ATM.

‘The death has been announced of Prophet Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku whose death was confirmed by a team of doctors on Thursday night after several vigil of prayers since Saturday evening when his health deteriorated. Prophet Ajanaku who hailed from the Owo Ope family in Gbongan is survived by his wife, Joy and two children Stella and Apotieri. His remains has been deposited at the Military Mortuary, Yaba, Lagos.

Though he was born a Moslem over 40 years ago in Gbongan, he moved to Lagos in the 90s and settled in Ipaja Ayobo area where he acquired skills in many vocations and engaged in several trades before his encounter with God.
He founded and shepherded the Christ Revival Victory Chapel International, Ayobo, Ipaja, Lagos and rose to become the President of The Ajanaku World Outreach, a ministry devoted to the spread of the gospel outside the church. His last mission unaccomplished was Idoani For Christ, slated for September 30 and October 1, 2013 in Idoani, Ondo State.

Until his death, he was a widely travelled evangelist with remarkable crusades and prophetic healings around the world. Burial arrangements will be announced by the family and the church soon’

Jilted boyfriends are uploading thenude videos of their formergirlfriends on the internet to get back at their former lovers.

This trend, called revenge pornography, has taken over major social sites on the internet in recent times, investigation has revealed.

The leaked photographs and videos are uploaded on sites like Facebook, Twitter, blogs and many porn sites.

Revenge pornography can be described as the deliberate sharing of erotic photographs and videos from previous relationships majorly to humiliate a former partner.

Findings further reveal that these explicit pictures and videos are often posted by couples after a break-up.

However, in some cases, some of the partners may have been commissioned by blogs and porn sites for the photographs and videos of sexual actions.

Investigation by our correspondent showed that in Nigeria, just like many parts of the world, women are often the victims of revenge pornography. This is confirmed by the over 30 videos seen by our correspondent.

Leaked sex videos and photographs of Nigerians can easily be found on some websites.

Some amateur websites have reportedly been set up solely for videos and pictures considered revenge porn. Some websites too even ask for such videos from the public for a handsome reward.

Analysts say revenge pornography is urgently becoming a genre of pornography on the internet attracting several viewers because the videos are leaked and debasing and the victims could easily be identified. Moreover, some of the victims do not even know they are being recorded.

While in some cases, the women may not know that they are being recorded by their partners, in other cases, the women are seen showing so much trust in their men recording such sexual sessions believing the videos would be kept secret.

One of the over 30 of such recorded videos currently on the internet, has the naked lady, reportedly a student of a Nigerian university, shyly asking his male partner, whose face is blanked out, why he was recording the session.

The male partner, on the other hand, is heard telling the lady that they would watch the video after the love-making session before deleting it.

In another video published on a website, a young Nigerian lady is seen on top of the man in a lovemaking session inside a corporate office with Wande Coal’s Taboo playing at the background. They are recorded with their faces clearly seen by a third partner whose female voice sang along with the music.

Yet in another video currently on many internet sites, a mature woman is seen doing a Mouth Gig for the man who hides his face.

The man soon tells her: “get up! It is time for the real show.”

He, however, informs her that they would both watch the recording before deleting it. Then the woman sits astride the man who continues to record the “show”. There is the recent case of Miss UNIZIK, whose nude photographs are everywhere on the internet. According to the report, the student was said to have had issues with her boyfriend who posted the photographs.

Currently, some non-governmental organisations are beginning to sensitise women against allowing their nude photographs to be taken by men at any point in time.

A website has been set up by an American, Holly Jacobs, where victims can air their grievances.

A tradomedical practitioner inLagos has claimed that a 20-year old woman delivered a tortoise and a baby girl in his clinic. The woman, Rasheedat Raimi, said she had carried the pregnancy for 10 months before she eventually delivered the baby girl and the tortoise at a trado-medical clinic on Mutairu Street, Off Ijegun Road, outskirts of Lagos. The tortoise came out with the placenta and the baby came out later. I couldn’t believe my eyes, but I was very weak. I was happy the pain left me. I felt relieved after the delivery. Ithank God,” she told P.M.NEWS slowly. On whether she attended ante-natal clinic before the delivery, the young woman said: “I carried the pregnancy for 10 months. I did scans several timesand nobody told me that I was carrying tortoisein my womb. What they alwaystold me was that I am alright and would deliver at the right time,” she added. “This is amazing, but true. She did not register with my clinic for ante-natal. When she came here with her people, she was in pains, we didn’t know she will deliver here.

She only camehere for Tahajjud prayers (night vigil). We were praying when suddenly she started wriggling. She was in pains. “I touched her stomach and observed something strange moving inside her. It was a strange thing. I thought it was a lizard but it turned out to be a tortoise. The tortoise tore the placenta into pieces and came out. The baby came out afterwards. “She fainted after the delivery and we had to revive her with prayers. This is what God can do. An award-winning Nigerian music director who impregnated one of his daughters four times has been found guilty and will spend the rest of his life in jail, reports Daily Mail online.

Aswad Ayinde, 55, of Paterson, NJ, was sentenced to 50 years in prison Friday after being found guilty in the second of five expected trials in which he is accused of repeatedly raping his six daughters, resulting in six children being fathered. He also fathered 12 additional children with an additional three women, according to court records

Mr. Ayinde was found guilty in his latest trial of having intercourse with one of his daughters when she was as young as eight-years-old.

The second sentence adds to the 40-year sentence Mr Ayinde received in a 2011 trial for sexually assaulting a separate daughter.

Mr. Ayinde is known for directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 smash hit Killing Me Softly.

In a disturbing disclosure during his first trial, Mr. Ayinde’s former wife said he was trying to create a ‘pure family bloodline’ by impregnating his daughters.

He even claimed during a pre-trial hearing before the first trial that ‘the world was going to end, and it was just going to be him and his offspring and that he was chosen.’

In this latest trial, it was revealed that Mr. Ayinde began having intercourse with his second daughter from the time she was eight-years-old, impregnating her four times.

The sexual assaults happened for almost 30 years until Mr. Ayinde and his wife separated, officials said. They occurred in numerous homes across northern New Jersey, even while the family was under watch of state child welfare officials, according to NBC New York. Some of the rapes even took place in an abandoned funeral home.

The family moving as far away as Florida to avoid investigation after case workers removed multiple children from the Ayinde household in 2000, resulting in Mr. Ayinde being arrested for kidnapping for trying to take them from state custody in a medical centre, NBC New York reported.

He pleaded guilty to lesser charges and received a year’s probation – as he continued raping one daughter for at least another two years, according to officials.

The depraved father also beat and starved the girls using wooden boards and steel-toed boots for even ‘minor transgressions,’ Ayinde’s wife testified at the first trial.

Some of the children Ayinde fathered with his daughters were born in the home, with at least two babies who died in the home having been buried without notifying authorities or obtaining birth certificates, NBC New York reported.

Ayinde’s tortured daughters were home schooled and isolated from other children, so as to keep the family secrets hidden, the station added.

With his wife too afraid to confront him, Mr. Ayinde carried out his evil plan without hindrance even while directing the music video for the Fugees 1996 breakout hit Killing Me Softly, for which he won ‘Best R&B Video’ at the 1996 MTV Music Video Awards. The Fugees are also originally from Northern New Jersey.

Mr. Ayinde faces three more trials over the alleged assaults.

The Director-General, National Automotive Council (NAC), Mr Aminu Jalal, has disclosed that Nigerians spend about N600 billion annually on import of vehicles. Jalal told newsmen in Abuja that about 50,000 new and 150,000 used vehicles were imported into the country yearly.

“Nigerians spend an average of N400 billion on importing passenger cars and by the time you add trucks and other vehicles, the amount Nigerians spend on imported vehicles will be running to N600 billion annually. The market is there. With this market, automotive companies will be willing to invest in the country, but the constraint is the inauspicious import duty which made the vehicles to be cheap.

“Our current policy structure encourages importation and discourages production. That is why we are trying to reverse it to something that is obtainable in India and others where it is easier to set up manufacturing plant than importing vehicles.”

Jalal said that the proposed launching of Made-in- Nigeria vehicles in 2017 was no longer realistic due to unfavourable policy that encouraged vehicle importation to the detriment of production. The director-general explained that the plan was initiated when import duty was 30 per cent, but had now crashed to 10 per cent. He described the situation as unfavourable for investment, adding that to produce vehicles locally did not mean that the vehicles would be 100 per cent made in Nigeria.

“Our approach to a Nigerian vehicle is that the vehicle that is being assembled will have up to 60 or 70 per cent local content, then you can call it Nigerian vehicle. Now to achieve that, you must first attract investors into the sector. The easiest way to do that is by putting in place the tariff that will discourage importation and encourage production of vehicles,” he said.

According to him, countries all over the world always give their companies a lot of protection, noting that South Africa import duty is very high to protect their indigenous companies. He said some countries like India had put their duty as high as 300 per cent before reducing it to 91 per cent when the industry was stabilised.

“Nigeria’s import duty is 10 per cent for commercial vehicles and 20 per cent for cars; right now complete knock down is imported at five per cent. When the duty was introduced in 2005, many companies closed down. Until we change this tariff structure, forget about Made-in- Nigeria vehicle, nobody will invest in the sector,” Jalal said
