As a matter of fact, HBO’s Lanterns isn’t doing anything new by incorporating racial politics into the story.

The Green Lantern comics featuring John Stewart have never shied away from addressing racism.

Why don't you watch the show yourself?

It's simply a matter of perspective. John was born in America in the 1980s, which means his parents grew up during the 1960s and ’70s.

Do you know what life was like for Black people in America during that period? Their experiences, background, and upbringing would inevitably shape how they see the world and influence the way they raise their children.

The problem with Lanterns is tackling different perspectives, having many layers, trying to show that nothing is black and white, but presenting that script to an illiterate audience.

An audience that, if they see an apple in a scene, will interpret that the creators hate bananas.

I was genuinely excited for this one, but that excitement came with a caveat, seeing that they hired [i]Damon Lindelof as the showrunner. I mean, this man could turn a kids' show into some political allegory 😩.


I just hope the high ratings aren't simply because it portrays a current political trend. I hope the other episodes allow the show to establish its true identity.

I don't need to hate the show to say the actual truth. Green Lanterns show with a peanut budget is almost not going to stand the test of time when all the glazing stops.
If you can't do it, then don't try to start. Like I mentioned here on why WB and HBO can spend heavily on shows like GoT and THoD but can't do the same for a popular characters like Green Lanterns.
What I'm seeing from majority of you guys are just over glazing a decent series. When all the hype mellow hope we won't hear something different oh
If glazers can call this costume peak costume then what evidence do ones' need to know all are just hype and glazing.
Again, I hope the Sinestro's costume flying everywhere on social media won't be his actual one oh

I finished Demon Slayer last weekend.

What an experience!

It's one of the best anime I've ever seen.

And I'm not even an anime person.

So far, I have seen

- Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
- Erased
- Death Note
- Demon Slayer

Please I need anime recommendations. Something as good as Demon Slayer or better.

There was some hype around JJK and Solo Leveling.
