Receiving a reported average of $975,000 per advertised post, Ronaldo's Instagram earnings far eclipse the world's biggest celebrities, including Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, and Emily Ratajkowski.

He also beats footballing rival Lionel Messi, who is said to have earned less than half of Ronaldo's total with $23.3 million.

Amongst the brands Ronaldo has represented on Instagram are Clear Haircare, Nike Football, and Six Pad Europe.

"Ronaldo is the most followed human on Instagram (with 186 million followers) so companies are paying almost $1 million for posts to access his insane reach," Hopper HQ marketing executive Nicola Cronin told Business Insider.Due to his status as a celebrity and football star, his earnings from Instagram break away from typical influencer partnerships, as many of his promotional posts will be part of wider sponsorship deals, such as Nike.

"You only need to go on his Instagram to see how many paid partnerships he does outside of the sports market."

Several groups have announced their intentions to protest on June 12, which has been designated as Democracy Day.

In an advisory targeted at US citizens, the Mission said “Police presence and response can be expected nationwide, including in Abuja where government events are scheduled to celebrate the national holiday and in Lagos where simultaneous protests are planned.

“The likely locations for the protests in Abuja will be at Unity Fountain (Hilton Hotel area), Wuse, Berger Roundabout, Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Airport Road, and British Circle. In Lagos, the likely locations for protests will be Lekki Toll Gate and Gani Fawehinmi Park. Calls for the protests suggest they may begin as early as 07:00 a.m.”

The advisory added that citizens should “avoid the areas of the demonstrations, exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests, monitor local media for updates, and keep a low profile.”

Earlier on Friday, the National Association of Nigerian Students said it had suspended its planned June 12 protest, citing concerns of the safety of the protesters and the fear of a possible hijack by politicians.

Politics#june12 Protest: Police Arrest Agba Jalingo by SamKeys2004(op): 7:44pm On Jun 11, 2021
An activist and newspaper publisher, Agba Jalingo, has been arrested by the police in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria’s South-south.

Mr Jalingo is the publisher of Cross River Watch, an online newspaper with focus on Cross River State.

He was arrested at the police headquarters, Calabar, on Friday where he went to honour an invitation by the Commissioner of Police in the State, Kayode Sikiru, Cross River Watch said in a report.

The newspaper said Mr Sikiru invited Mr Jalingo to the police headquarters to discuss the planned nationwide June 12 protest which the latter is said to be coordinating in the state.

After discussions, Mr Jalingo was reportedly referred to another officer who informed him that the police had received a petition which accused him of being an arms dealer, the newspaper said.

“There was a petition against him that he is a member of drug dealers, so we called him to question him,” the police spokesperson in Cross River State, Irene Ugbo told PREMIUM TIMES on Friday, at about 3:44 p.m.

“He is still writing his stuff (response to the petition). When he finishes we’ll let him go if we find him not wanting,” she added.

Mr Jalingo was accompanied to the police headquarters by Jonathan Ugbal, the news editor of Cross River Watch.

It is unclear, for now, if Mr Ugbal is also being questioned by the police. His phone line was switched off when PREMIUM TIMES tried to contact him by 4:16 p.m.

PoliticsNigerians States Reason They Resolved To Protest On June 12 by SamKeys2004(op): 7:39pm On Jun 11, 2021
Less than 24 hours for Nigerians to mark 2021 June 12 Democracy Day, the Convener, Concerned Nigerians, CN, Comrade Deji Adeyanju, Friday, explained why they have resolved to protest on June 12, which is to register their dismay over rising killings, negotiation with insurgents and bandits, attacks on protesters and human rights activists, and other frightening issues.

Making this known to Vanguard in a chat, Adeyanju said the protest cannot be stopped because it is the constitutional right of Nigerians to take to the streets to make their feelings known via peaceful protest, which is part of democratic tenets across the world, and they refuse to be suppressed by security agents of the government.

He said: “We are going on protest on June 12 to make President Muhammadu Buhari know that Nigerians cannot take it anymore because of frightening level of insecurity in North West, North East, North Central, South West, and South East regions of the country.

CelebritiesPopular Actress Dies After Recovering From Covid19 by SamKeys2004(op): 9:13pm On Jan 04, 2021
Hammer’ has died at the age of 88. Her agent, Thomas Bowington, confirmed the news on Monday, saying that while she had recently caught Covid-19 in a hospital, she had recovered, Metro.co.uk reports.

He said, “She really was Hammer’s number one leading lady and the technicolour queen of Hammer. On-screen she could be quietly evil. She goes from statuesque beauty to just animalistic wildness. She was a regular favourite of Hammer events and autograph shows but also performed on stage with the RSC. It wasn’t the Covid that took her, she had underlying issues.”

According to Bowington, Shelley went into a hospital for a muscle check-up and in that process, she contracted Covid-19, he explained, “But after that, she had an infection and was in hospital by herself for two weeks before Christmas. It’s most likely Covid is going to come up on the death certificate.”

The London-born actress was the star of 1950s and 1960s Hammer Horror films including The Gorgon, opposite Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee; Dracula, Prince Of Darkness and Rasputin, The Mad Monk, both also starring Lee; and Quatermass And The Pit, as well as Blood Of The Vampire, and Village Of The Damned.
Shelley also appeared in the Doctor Who episode Planet Of Fire, starring Peter Davison as the fifth Doctor. The star – who was born Barbra Kowin in 1932 – was also known for TV roles in series including The Saint, The Avengers, The Borgias, Blake’s 7 and Crown Court, and later played Hester Samuels in EastEnders.

In 2010, writer and actor Mark Gatiss interviewed Shelley about her career at Hammer Films for his BBC documentary series A History Of Horror.

The London-based production company, founded in 1934, made a string of hit Gothic horror films from the mid-1950s until the 1970s. Many of these involved classic horror characters such as Baron Victor Frankenstein, Count Dracula, and The Mummy.

Tributes came in for the star, with Hammer Horror Films tweeting: “I’ am sad to relay that one of the greatest Hammer stars Barabara Shelley has passed away after a Covid battle. She would have been 89 next month.”

PoliticsSamuel Askia's Police Guards Beat Victor Eterigho To Coma To Retrieve Car Gift by SamKeys2004(op): 8:09am On Jan 04, 2021
Delta Politician's Police Guards Beat Another Politician To Coma To Retrieve Car Gift

Victor Eterigho, ex-councillor from Uzere community, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, was beaten to coma on Wednesday last week by security aides attached to Samuel Askia, son to the Managing Director, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Ogieh Asikia.

SaharaReporters reliably gathered that the former councillor's attack followed an alleged invasion of his house by Askia's mobile policemen to retrieve a car gift given to him two years ago by Askia.

Impeccable sources familiar with the matter told our correspondent that in 2018, Askia, a People's Democratic Party House of Assembly aspirant for Isoko South constituency 2, made the former councillor, Eterigho, the director-general of his campaign organisation.

He was said to have gifted him a car with all documents bearing Eterigho's name. But when the political relationship ended, Askia came for his car.

"The attack and injuries inflicted on me were carried out by policemen attached to Samuel Askia. They came to my house at Irri to demand the return of the car gift to me about two years ago in appreciation of my efforts towards Samuel Askia House of Assembly ambition," Eterigho said.

"Because the car was not immediately available, they forced me inside their Hilux, molesting me in the process. And when we got to Eboh hotel, his policemen tortured and molested me the more; hitting me with the butt of the gun in the head, eyes and even threatened to blow me off.

"It is all lies from the pit of hell that the army beat me at Uzere community as being speculated by Askia and his group. They want to cover up the attack on me by his policemen."

The attack on the former councillor followed his refusal to support Samuel Askia's candidacy at the just concluded Uzere delegates conference to elect the community's new leadership last week Tuesday.

Our correspondent also gathered that another such car gift given to Uwoma Odhiwu at the same time the former councillor got his was also retrieved from him by the same policemen attached to Askia.

Meanwhile, all the two vehicles' original documents, sighted by our correspondent, bore names of the receivers, indicating that the cars were gifts from Askia.

Askia and his close political allies were said to have insisted that the two vehicles were not gifts but officially given to Odhiwu and Eterigho to run his campaign organisation while contesting the Isoko South constituency 2 House of Assembly seat in the 2019 general elections of which he could not secure the party's ticket.

Samuel Askia could not be reached for comments as his mobile line was switched at the time of filing in this report.

One of his close allies, who identified himself as Daniel, said at no time were policemen attached to Askia beat up the former councillor.

He maintained that the army allegedly beat up the former councillor at Uzere community over his unruly behaviour.

"Don't lie against Samuel Askia's policemen," Daniel said, referring to Eterigho. "I was there when the policemen met you. They didn't touch you. They only retrieved from you the official car attached to the office you occupied as the DG of Samuel Askia movement, and you are no longer the DG of Samuel Askia movement."

ProgrammingNin Improvement by SamKeys2004(op): 7:31am On Jan 04, 2021
The management of National Identity Management Commission in collaboration with Ministry of communications and digital economy, introduced a new and easier system citizens through which citizens can easily enroll for NIN generation which is called "NIMC improved mobile application".

This, according to the committee is part of federal government policy to facilitate process of obtaining or verifying NIN without visiting NIMC offices and outlets.
Technical assistant to the Ministry Mr. Adeluyi said "these efforts are aimed at supporting the policy to link subscribers, adding that the app is a pocket friendly, because the 20 naira fees charged by telecommunication networks does not apply anymore, and it provides a secured channel for all Nigerians and legal residents to conveniently download, verify and authenticate their identities using smart phones.

it is absolutely a self-service portal."

This is really a great development as many Nigerians might have anticipated such but did not see it coming.

What can you say to them?
Please comment and follow my posts
But I think if they can enforce this procedures then it will make it easier for everyone to have the NIN.
