Pls how do i create usb flash drive to format and reinstal win8 on my hp 15 notebook pc cus it wont boot up. I tried using dvd rom bt the system say fail to boot from selected device.

copy the win8 cd with anoda laptop to ur flash drive...power on ur hp laptop n press shift and f8 together until it take u to sysyem boot menu..go to advanced option and select boot from cd/flash drive....or u can try safe mode n reinstall ur windows from there with using the flash drive..make sure u av enuf ba3 and noting interrupts the process...

Yes it looks like you are better off staying with Windows 7 if possible, because there is little or no driver support for Windows 8.1 for your laptop; especially for none for the display driver.

Besides Windows 7 is much better and stable (in my opinion)

Ok, is your laptop an intel or AMDI? or better yet...whats the name of the display driver you disabled? I will look up your driver for you. By the way it seems like HP does not support windows 8 or 8.1 on that laptop. Thats probably the reason you couldnt find it on their website. But get back with me with the name of your display driver.

my laptop is an intel display graphic driver when i was using win 7 dats the follow come graphic driver for the laptop which is hp 620..but since i upgraded to windows 8.1 it change to microsoft basic display adapter..it was the microsoft basic display adapter i disabled..

I av used win 8.1,win 8,win 7...in all i will say i prefer windows 8.1 if na follow come asin it comes with the new laptop not me upgrading from 7 to 8....cos this upgrading tin wil mk u hate win 8 n win 8.1 cos dey might no wrk perfectly well..bt then while using win 7 i never had any problem what so ever..excpet few apps that didnt want to install..bt on win 8 all did install..if u r on 7 bt not upgrade to 8..remain at 7 excpet u buy a new laptop n win 8 comes with it then u can upgrade to 8.1 and u will av no problems wat so ever..

I won use this medium to reach out to all those wey won migrate from win7 to win8.1 abeg no migrate no advoid stories dat touch beta stay for the win7..only follow come win 8.1 laptops can rock win 8 without wahala...

Please Always allow your Pc to update it Engine. But Youve got this Mb phobia , Try set to Notify you when Making Update.


With that You would know what amount of data required bfre upgrade.

Since you are getting the black screen after POST...it sounds like this issue could be an issue with the image you are currently running. You may have a bad driver or you may have a corrupted image. I am leaning towards a bad driver (display driver). Seeing that you upgraded to Windows 8.1, chances are the driver did not install properly.

I would recommend successfully refreshing your computer and log into windows like you were doing before.
Go into device manager and uninstall and "delete" the device software of your display driver (this should set you back to VGA standard adapter).
Restart your computer.
Log back in and go to your manufacturer's website to look for your display driver for windows 8.1.
Download and install.
Restart and you should be fine.

thank u ,u r a great help..i av disable my graphic driver since it wont uninstall..if i go to hp site..hp.com and click on download driver and search for my hp620 wat i do see there is drivers for windows 7 professional cos dats my default hp n hp knows dat..no where to select windows 8.1 i upgraded to..should i select and new hp model dat will av windows 8.1 and download dat graphic driver for mine?

Try Going thru safe mode... But you just mentioned that you cant even see a thingy...
A lady is experiencing the same Ish here.

The best I could suggest is Factory Reset/Reload the Os..

i jst googled my issue i was told to either disable the display adapter or uninstall it then update it to the latest one that will be compatible to the win 8.1...any idea on this?

yes the laptop updated itself and i did restore it to a day before it happen it came on..also if u do system refresh with the windows 8.1 cd it will refresh n come on..bt once i'm browsing it will go black or if i shut it down it will jst go blank..any help on this?

3 days ago i turned of my computer and left
it turned of over the night. Then when i
tried to turn it back on again, i get the
windows 8/8.1 boot logo, then when it
dissapears i just get a black screen,
however, i get the windows tone after a
while indicating that the system is running,
and that the only problem is that the screen
is not displaying anything.
I have tried refreshing and doing a system restore that
worked and made it boot n came on. But no matter what i changed
(start-up programs and resolution) nothing
helped. When ever i shut down it wont boot excpet i do system refresh or restore..
I have tried connecting another screen to
my laptop, but that screen also displays the
black color.
I should perhaps mention that my laptop
originally came with Windows 7, but i
upgraded it to Windows 8, and later on 8.1. And have used the windows 8.1 for two weeks now before this proble,
So if any of you got an idea for what might
help, please do tell.
