what u don't know is that the rate at which Tech is increasing in Nigeria is incredible Laptops are now made in Nigeria (zinox) phones and other gadgets too, the future is bright for computer engineering and u comparing mining eng to mech eng, I get ur angle of view as any average Nigerian will rate mech eng. over mining eng. most jambites won't choose mining except in COC but what u still don't know is that Futa is the ONLY university in Nigeria offering that course that we take for granted the other tertiary institution offering it is a polytechnic and we have students all the way from Ethiopia in mining Futa taping the juices, comparing it to mech eng every university has this department(mech eng) and graduates are produced each year in thousands, their market is chummed up already unlike mining, u graduate and move to any natural resources site in west Africa tender ur cert and u will be danced around. A big bro of mine that graduated 2 years ago just got a job in far away Senegal doing underground mining.

it's not that hard but the problem with most is after spending a year in your dept, after making friends and after having ur own "goons" u won't want to leave, but if u really want to try and make GP of at least 3.5 then u re good to go
FYI you won't drop any year u will resume 200level in ur new course.

#thinking....but why wil someone want to change from computer engineering to civil when Futa is one of the few universities offering it in Nigeria,
it's like wanting to cross from mining eng. to mech eng. #who does that

imagine how hard I worked to pass all the exams yet they denied me of my admission .hence they admitted candidates that got scored lower than mine

I understand ur frustration bro. it's not their fault in all, as I once told a jambite that called me the other day that admission is more like a thing of luck, take my dept MCB for example i got from an info from a friend who is an assistant lecturer in my dept. I was told the first list consisted of 60 candidates, 25 was chosen on pure merit while the others are the top scorer from other states, u should know that if there's a slot for u with 80% and anoda candidate from zamfara with 56% he May chosen over u b'cos there are states in Nigeria that are referred to as Educationally deprived state especially states affected by insurgence. so there are critical criteria and protocols to follow. the most flexible list is the last and final list if u know what I mean.

Not sure ihave heard of this one before, i went to pay my acceptance fee yesterday, was given admsn thru PD, due to the fact that other banks had an issue or the other, i ended up @Zenith Bank, i told the cashier i wanted to pay my acceptance thru E-transact, so he said it can be done after walking for hours searching for a bank which could do it, so he searched his system and said FUTa accptance fee is not on the E-transact option rather it was on REMITa, a new policy Buhari established where all money in relation to the federal Govt. Goes to, due to the fact Futa z a federal sch. Thereby a federal project the money goes there, so i told it i dunno of remita da tz E-transact i want, buh he said da E-transact has been upgraded to REMITa so he told me not to worry da i will still get want i want, fast forward to now, he has done the REMIta now, i didnt get a code from the receipt to Log on to Futa's site and print my acceptance form and Admsn letter, buh after much explanation to the entire banks staffs, cos they had to come to my hearing when things where going out of hand, they said i shouldnt worry that it has been paid and all i need z to get to the school and tender the receipt, buh i'm not satisfies with that, dunno what else to do.. Anyone with similar experience and anything to help please.. I'm devastated..

I'd advise u calm down as u re not the only one in this but if u still disturbed you can go to CRC in school for clearing and advice or u use the CRC helpdesk.

For guys having one or two issues with their D. O. B. on diff. certificates be it waec or birth though it's good that everything correlates and perfect but the thing is no registration officer will have the time to scrutinize the D. O. B. on ur certs when there're hundreds on queue, the only thing they check with care is ur reslt(s) for grades in ur required subjects but others they give u a file u write ur info on it and u dump it in it but it's good u fix it if u can.

i really don't know about the date of birth error but maybe u talk to ur parents they'll know how to get the birth cert for u.

Statement of result for O'level is the minimum required... The original copy / certificate is Optional.. If you have, you can present it and if you don't have, just make sure you get Statement of result from the school you wrote the SSCE... The original certificate for O'level is the UTMOST requirement only when you want to clear your result after graduation! #PeaceOut

or the online print out. cos my o level is recent.. it's not yet ready.

the original copy is the required one and you guys should know that they don't acknowledge birth certificate from private hospitals so if u own such go get anoda from the
Nigeria Population Commission or your hometown
