Osof: You have cancelled once now. You won't be able to apply for emergency date more than once Not true, I cancelled Lagos, Picked a new date in Abuja and I still have the EA option on my portal |

Venekconsultt: Please always be careful when filling as errors often are of disadvantage. However since u haven't paid the necessary fees do well with a new form with a new mail. Can you please elaborate? I have filled a couple of DS 160 due to mistakes etc, do you think this is a disadvantage? |

Themaths: I would advise you to change your interview venue to Abuja if you are still trying Lagos. I know of someone who applied for EA in Abuja and was approved in less than 24hrs. She got a closer date which is next week and rescheduled. Is this recent, like this it happened this year or it's from last year? |

OlaDchaser: What can be done about this? He’s to resume this summer To be honest, I really don't know, it's a fear I'm currently having as I chose Lagos already and I don't know how it will go when I apply for my Emergency Application come june. |

OlaDchaser: Hello everyone,
I need your help, I have my I-20 and have paid for Sevis fee, I am to resume summer 2022 and I booked for visa but was given December 2022, so I opted for expedited Appointment Now I have not heard from them. I am to resume this summer 2022 and have barely 2 months left, NB. EA was scheduled for lagos. I would need help I resume in Fall, and I have been having consigns about Lagos embassy late response to Emergency Application request. Some people said it takes like a month before they reply and it's uncertain they will even reply. |

amojoawo: Please has anyone gotten emergency US visa appointment recently? I’ve been waiting for response on my emergency appointment request at Lagos since March 20 and my graduate program resumption date on I-20 says May 19th. I’m getting nervous. Plsssss could anyone share their experience with getting the EA. I would appreciate any advice. I’m considering maybe switching location to Abuja but I wish I could know if Abuja has earlier dates. Please, can we address this issue? It's like LAGOS doesn't reply to Emergency Application swiftly. Has anyone gotten an appointment in Lagos of recent? |

Thormzy: Hello, Good evening everyone, this is a bit urgent please.
I've read a lot of rejections at the visa interview due to being unemployed and not having enough reason to come back to Nigeria. Actually my dad has a family business which he has been running for years. I do work there sometimes. We actually work with a lot of big companies in lagos. I'm thinking if filling out that I'm employed in my family's company in my DS form and also presenting my Company's ID card at the interview just in case.. this will proof that I'm employed and I have enough reason to come home and manage the family business along with my dad.
Is this a good idea ? You have to make sure your makes sense, they can ask you if your plan is to come back and manage your Dad's company then why do you need a master's degree in "physiology"(for example), unless your course is related to your dad's business then maybe the master's will be an aim to gain better knowledge in the field, else the story might not fly |

mojolajesu: VO asked the regular questions of Why are you going to the school, who told you about the school, are you married or engaged, who is sponsoring and all.
After those questions, he paused for a second looked into his system, looked at me again and asked if I have been denied before. I answered yes.
He further asked what has changed. I told him about my finances. The last time I had only the loan funding but this time, my family support came in for my living expenses and the loan for my tuition.
The VO nicely gave me a blue letter.
Well, I didn’t stop there, I pleaded that he tell me what I am not doing right with my application. He was so nice to say “I will advice you work on your Home ties. They are not strong enough.” Hi, so sorry about your experience Please, I would like to know what your home ties were, that he felt isn't strong enough. Also, now that this has happened, can you like just create another account with a new VISA fee and get another emergency appointment or you will have to wait for 60 days? Looking forward to your response. Regards |

mojolajesu: Wow! This is spot on. I sincerely apologize to this community.
I know I have learnt so much and in my little way I have given too. However, my second disappointment really hit me so bad that I am just recovering from it.
Anyways, here is the transcript of my second interview at Abuja
NB: first denial was on Dec 1, 2021 MPOWER Loan funding worth 50k COA: 45k Scholarship:3k
Second time, I reduced the Loan to 29k then family funds 16k (reflected on i20) Had GA also but couldn’t cover for tuition.
VO asked the regular questions of Why are you going to the school, who told you about the school, are you married or engaged, who is sponsoring and all.

I went back to my hotel room battered and shattered.
My advise and what I am working on is to get a full funding before trying again.
I am available to answer questions and clarification about the whole thing.
Thank you. The Blue letter means "deny", I thought it's pink. |

I chose Lagos but people are telling me it's not a great choice that I should change to ABUJA because it's better. |

Please help It's a mistake, it's actually April 2023 not 2022 |

walepepe21: Most schools in USA are allowed to send the i-20 now via email to all the prospective students due to COVID-19, DSOs may electronically send Forms I-20 to student email addresses listed in SEVIS unlike before where you will have to pay for the shipment via eshipglobal (DHL, FedEx etc).
So, the embassy allow you to come with the emailed copy for your interview and make sure you sign it. Best of luck in your interview. Sir pls help me out, I have booked my interview date for Next Monday, 11th April but I am yet to pay my SEVIS fee, please how do I go about paying my SEVIS fee pls, I have naira and also USD but I still can't pay it, attached image is what it's telling me, I have been to the bank and they say they don't do such payment, What's the way out pls I need to get it done by Wednesday which tomorrow.
