In February 2023, the Arc-P program was launched by the Nigerian government through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to address the needs of vulnerable populations, particularly out-of-school children. Youth facilitators, drawn from 18 local governments, underwent training and orientation before commencing their work in March.

The facilitators' primary responsibility is to identify and train vulnerable and out-of-school children, a task demanding significant dedication and time. However, despite their efforts, a concerning situation has emerged as these facilitators have yet to receive any payment for their services.

This delay in remuneration has sparked apprehension and raised questions among the populace. The lack of compensation for the facilitators despite sending monthly report and video evidence of work, has led to speculation regarding the potential mismanagement or misappropriation of funds allocated for their payments by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

The current predicament not only highlights the challenges faced by the dedicated youth facilitators but also raises broader concerns about the transparency and effectiveness of the Arc-P program in Ondo State. As people grapple with the delayed payments, there is a growing sentiment of skepticism, with some questioning whether the funds designated for the facilitators have become entangled in the broader issues of mismanagement and corruption within the ministry.
