Car Talk › Lien Delay Issue by Sample2020(op):
Hello everyone,

I bought a 2015 Mercedes-Benz ML350 through Auction site, but the vehicle has been stuck in their US warehouse since September 21, 2026, because of a lien-release document issue involving the previous owner's lender, TitleMax.

I was told they are still waiting for the necessary documentation. Meanwhile, storage fees may apply, and they mentioned an optional $500 service to help process the missing document, which could take up to a month.

Please, I need advice from people experienced with US car auctions, vehicle title documentation, and shipping to Nigeria.
Is this situation normal, and what can I do to resolve it?

Is paying the additional $500 worthwhile?

Can I contact TitleMax or another party directly to speed things up?

Can I insist that they waive storage fees since the delay is beyond my control?

I would appreciate practical advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation.

Thank you.
