The classic Romeo and Juliet has been successfully translated into Igbo Language by Ekene Ugwuanyi.

This becomes the first full play of Shakespeare to ever be published in Igbo language, after "Akụkọ Ụfọdụ Skakespare Dere" - 'Some Stories Told By Shakespeare,' translated by Anezi Okoro & Nwaobiora Chukwuah, based upon 'Lamb's Tales From Shakespeare', an abridged text of Shakespeare's plays for children.
