Awarded annually to male athletes from around the world, the Laureus World Sports Award for Sportsman of the Year honours an individual’s accomplishments in the sport. Paris Saint-Germain forwards Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi have been nominated for the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award. Leo Messi is the only footballer to have won the award in its 2020 edition alongside Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton Messi and Mbappe have been impressive for both club and country over the last year and this season.
