Sports / China U20s Set To Play In German League by samsonslides: 2:38pm On Jun 22, 2017
China’s Under-20 team are set compete in the fourth tier of Germany next season as they look to step up their preparations for 2020 Olympic Games.

According to a report by Bild, a deal between the Football Associations of China and Germany that will see the youth team join the Regionalliga Sudwest from the 2017-18 season is close to being finalised.

With only 19 teams in the division, the addition of the China U20s would avoid one club going without a fixture each matchday.

“All 19 clubs in the league have signalled their approval for the Chinese to play, so I see the project in a good position,” said Felix Wiedemann, managing director of the Regionalliga Sudwest, to Bild.

It is claimed the Chinese FA will pay each club €15,000 per game, with all matches to be played at the respective home of the German team.

“The clubs are in favour of the idea,” DFB vice-president Ronny Zimmerman told Kicker.

“The planned co-operation with China is well-known and of course we need good content for it, so we have to see if the idea comes to fruition.”

Sports / Liverpool Reject Napoli Offer For Alberto Moreno? by samsonslides: 1:42pm On Jun 22, 2017
Liverpool have reportedly rejected an offer of £10.5m from Napoli for defender Alberto Moreno.

After playing just 298 minutes of Premier League football last season, it has been suggested that Moreno has been made available for transfer as Jurgen Klopp looks to generate extra funds for the summer window.

However, according to The Mirror, the Merseyside giants have decided to turn down a sizeable bid for the Spanish left-back.

It has been claimed that Liverpool and Klopp are looking for a fee closer to £12m, the value they paid for Moreno when signing him from Sevilla in 2014.

Liverpool are currently in the market for another left-back to act as competition for the versatile James Milner, who deputised in the position throughout the most recent campaign.

Sports / China FA Ban Oscar For Eight Games For Kicking Ball At Two Players by samsonslides: 1:12pm On Jun 22, 2017
Shanghai SIPG midfielder Oscar has received an eight-match ban for deliberately kicked the ball at two opposition players.

The incident – which took place during open play in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Guangzhou R&F – led to a mass brawl taking place with many members of both backroom staffs also getting involved.

Despite his actions not resulting in the referee stopping play, the Chinese Football Association have opted to punish the Brazilian for instigating the scenes which followed and he will now be sidelined until the middle of August.

The former Chelsea playmaker has also been handed a fine of £4,700, which is small change given the lucrative contract he signed after exiting Stamford Bridge.

Oscar has scored four times in 21 appearances since making the switch to Asia.

Sports / Dortmund Invite Aubameyang Offers by samsonslides: 9:17am On Jun 22, 2017
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has invited interested clubs to make a formal offer for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international has been heavily linked with a move away from Signal Iduna Park with the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City all credited with an interest in signing the prolific attacker.

Recent reports from the UK suggest City are sitting in pole position to land the 28-year-old after PSG pulled out of the race for his signature, but Dortmund have been adamant they are yet to receive any bids for Aubameyang.

The Bundesliga side remain hopeful of holding on to their star forward, but Watzke will consider realistic offers.”We will listen to it when a club is willing to show its appreciation for Aubameyang in a financial way as well,” Watzke told Bild.

Aubameyang has a contract with Dortmund until June 2020, but the club could decide to cash in on the former Saint-Etienne man if an offer in the region of €70million comes in.

Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho had a different role this week as he performed as best man for his teammate Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian city of Maceio was the setting for the wedding between Firmino and his partner of four years Larissa Pereira on Tuesday.

The couple, who are parents to daughters Valentina and Bella, celebrated their union at the Cafe de La Music in Alagoas, days after they held a religious ceremony at a Catholic church located in Pinheiro.

During the midweek celebration, Coutinho acted as best man, while Liverpool trio Lucas Leiva, Alberto Moreno and Allan Rodrigues de Souza were also on the guest list, according to The Mirror.

Rather than ask for wedding gifts, Firmino and his new wife requested that guests donate money to the appeal for two-year-old Brazilian child Miguel Enrique, who is suffering from Spinal muscular atrophy.

Sports / Rooney Achievements ´under-appreciated´ – Crouch by samsonslides: 3:44pm On Jun 20, 2017
Wayne Rooney’s long-time England attacking partner Peter Crouch feels the Manchester United striker’s achievements have been “under-appreciated”.

Since making his Premier League debut at the age of 16, Rooney has won five league titles, as well as the Champions League, the Europa League, the FA Cup and four EFL Cups.

The striker became United’s all-time record goalscorer last season with a late free-kick against Stoke City, and sits second on the list of all-time Premier League scorers, behind only Alan Shearer.

His achievements are not limited to club football, either, the 31-year-old having overtaken Bobby Charlton as England’s leading marksman in 2015.Rooney and Crouch often linked up together during the latter’s 54-cap international career and he believes the United veteran does not get the credit he deserves.

“When you look back at Wayne Rooney’s career I think maybe he’s been a bit under-appreciated,” Crouch said at the Costa Smeralda Invitational 2017.

“He’s Man United’s record goalscorer – what a club that is to be record goalscorer of – he’s England’s record goalscorer.

“Not just that, his natural ability. I remember when he burst on the scene when he was a 16, 17 year-old.

“He’s had an incredible career and is one of the best players England has ever produced. I think there will come a time when we look back and remember just how much he has done in the game.”

Sports / Swansea City Hopeful Paul Clement Can Convince John Terry To Join by samsonslides: 2:00pm On Jun 20, 2017
Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has claimed that manager Paul Clement is working hard to convince John Terry to join the club.

The 36-year-old is mulling over his options after ending his 22-year association with Chelsea at the end of last season.

Aston Villa and Birmingham City are two of a handful of clubs interested in the defender, but Jenkins is hopeful that Clement’s relationship with the player will help Swansea’s case.

Clement is well aware of Terry’s qualities having spent numerous years with the centre-back during coaching spells.

“I know Paul has spoken to John and his agent,” The Mirror quotes Jenkins as saying. “I don’t know what his preferences are because he has options and will go with what suits his family.

“We are well covered in that area and quite strong but I know there is interest with Paul and he spoke with John and his agent himself.

“When Paul knows a players well it is an obvious one for us. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t but we will always try and do that.”

Terry opted to leave Chelsea this summer after having limited game time under manager Antonio Conte last season.

Sports / Perez Rubbishes Talk Of Manchester United Deal For Morata by samsonslides: 12:31pm On Jun 20, 2017
Florentino Perez has rejected claims Manchester United and Real Madrid have agreed terms on a deal that would see Alvaro Morata leave for the Premier League.

Morata has been heavily linked with a move away from the Champions League winners after only 14 LaLiga stars under Zinedine Zidane last season.

The striker’s agent Juanma Lopez has confirmed the 24-year-old is keen to play more football in 2017-18, and that United were “a very interesting option”.

Reports of a rejected €60million bid from United seem wide of the mark, though, according to Madrid president Perez, who remains keen to keep Morata in the Spanish capital.

“I do not think he’s going to leave at all,” Perez told Onda Cero. “Nobody wants Morata to leave.

“I have not talked to him or his father. We are happy. I read there is an agreement for €75million, but there is nothing.”

Another player linked with a move away from Madrid is James Rodriguez after a frustrating stop-start campaign.

The Colombia international was left out of Zidane’s squad for the Champions League final victory over Juventus, fuelling speculation he would be sold, but Perez has no interest in parting with the playmaker.

“We do not see any reason not to continue with the players we have, including James,” he added.

“James is a Madrid player. No one had told us anything and we are delighted with him.”

Sports / Messi In A League Of His Own And Deserves Ballon D´or, Says Barca Team-mate Dign by samsonslides: 11:36am On Jun 20, 2017
Lionel Messi deserves to win the Ballon d’Or despite missing out on LaLiga and Champions League glory with Barcelona, claims Lucas Digne.

Messi enjoyed another fine campaign with 54 goals in all competitions but holder Cristiano Ronaldo is tipped to match the Barca star’s feat of earning five Ballons d’Or, having helped Real Madrid to LaLiga and Champions League success in 2016-17.

Barca team-mate and France international full-back Digne, however, says no one comes close to the level of Messi – who celebrates his 30th birthday on Saturday.

“Of course I believe that Messi should win the Ballon d’Or, because he is by far the greatest player in the world,” the 23-year-old told Omnisport.

“Nobody is near to his natural talent as a player. And his stats are excellent – just like they were last year, when he was also the best player for me and in a league of his own.

“Other players may win big titles and also be very good players, but they don’t have the skills that Messi has.”

Messi topped LaLiga’s scoring charts with 37 goals – eight more than his nearest challenger and team-mate Luis Suarez, and 12 ahead of Ronaldo.

He also netted 11 times in the Champions League as Barca lost to Juventus in the quarter-finals.

Sports / Stielike Sacked After Latest Korea Defeat by samsonslides: 9:38am On Jun 16, 2017
Uli Stielike has been relieved of his duties as South Korea head coach following their surprise 3-2 defeat to Qatar in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday.

Stielike led South Korea on 37 occasions after replacing Hong Myung-bo in September 2014 but the seventh loss of his tenure has cost him his job, the Korean Football Association (KFA) confirmed on Thursday.
Under the German, South Korea reached the Asian Cup final in 2015 only to be beaten by Australia 2-1 after extra time.

They got over that disappointment quickly and were unbeaten in the second round of qualifying for World Cup 2018, but they have struggled for consistency in the final section, losing three of their last five matches.

The latest defeat came in Doha on Tuesday as Qatar – who cannot qualify for the tournament in Russia – sprung a surprise, the reversal leaving South Korea only one point ahead of Uzbekistan in third.
With only the top two guaranteed a place in the finals – and Iran having already sealed the first spot – the KFA have opted for a change ahead of their two final games – against Iran and rivals Uzbekistan.

Sports / Madrid Should Sign ´new Ronaldo´ Mbappe – Then Loan Him Back To Monaco, Says Leb by samsonslides: 4:29pm On Jun 15, 2017
Real Madrid should sign Kylian Mbappe and then loan him back to Monaco for the benefit of his development, according to Franck Leboeuf, who thinks the forward could become “the new Ronaldo”.

Ex-France defender Leboeuf believes Les Bleus’ new star would be best served by spending another season with Monaco, but understands the Ligue 1 champions would struggle to resist a world-record offer for the 18-year-old.

Lebouef therefore believes a sign and loan strategy from Madrid could be the best solution after Mbappe discussed the European champions’ interest in him this week.

“He seems to be able to handle everything and able to become, I don’t know, maybe the new Ronaldo,” Leboeuf said to ESPN.

“It is very complicated because he is not the only one to decide [his future]. Monaco have something to do with it.
“If you offer £100million or £130m to come to Real Madrid it is hard for Monaco to say no, but if we only talk about the football I wish him to stay in Monaco for another year to be able to handle more of his football under pressure.

“He only played for six months – don’t forget he didn’t start the season, he only started in November. He is very young and very inexperienced even if he shows the opposite.

“He has to be patient, his time [to move] will come. Obviously we don’t wish him to get injured but if he carries on like that there is no way he is not going to have a fantastic career.
“Being under Leonardo Jardim in Monaco with all the players that he knows, and with a certain way of life in Monaco with no pressure, he can become even bigger and maybe go to Real Madrid.

“Maybe Real Madrid can sign him from Monaco and loan him for a year to Monaco, that could be the best way.”

— Kylian Mbappé (@KMbappe) June 13, 2017

Leboeuf is extremely impressed with Mbappe’s maturity after he won his fourth France cap in the 3-2 victory over England at Stade de France, setting up Ousmane Dembele’s winner.

“He has everything,” Leboeuf said. “He’s not 20 yet and already mature, he is a very smart person on top of being a fantastic football player.
“He has that little plus which makes players exceptional and he’s very humble. When he talks to the press you see somebody who already seems to be already 30.

“He has the pace, he has the technique, he seems to have the physique to carry on all season long and be effective.

“He’s really exceptional, he has everything. Now, how is he going to cope with the fame? I don’t know.

“His feet seem to be on earth, but I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future, his close future, whether he’s going to stay in Monaco or go maybe to Real Madrid or somewhere else.”

Sports / Akwa United 2 Wikki Tourists 0: Newman, Pygbara Strike Earn The Promise Keepers by samsonslides: 3:01pm On Jun 15, 2017
Goals from Musa Newman and Christian Pyagbara saw the Promise Keepers emerge 2-0 winners over the Bauchi Elephants on Wednesday in their Nigeria Professional Football League in Uyo.

Akwa United needed the win to keep their slim chances of catching league leaders alive and they turned up in the feisty encounter with Wikki Tourists to secure their 10th win of the season.
Former MFM FC attacker put the hosts in front at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo in the 25th minute when he scored from a close range.

Victor Alegbe led Wikki Tourists attack did everything to get back into the game but at half time the hosts maintained their lead.

The second half started just as the first half ended, both teams threw caution to the winds in search of the kill and equalizer but it was the hosts who got the last laugh when Christian Pyagbara doubled their lead right at the dead.
His 92nd-minute strike ensured the home team won the tie and the maximum points to keep the pressure on the league leaders, Plateau United.

Akwa United now occupy the 6th position on the log with 36 points, 9 points behind Plateau United who had played one more game than The Promise Keepers, while Wikki Tourists remain in the 16th position with 30 points.

Sports / Unai Emery: ‘paris Saint-germain Want To Sign Kylian Mbappe’ by samsonslides: 12:26pm On Jun 15, 2017
Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery has called on AS Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe to make the switch to the Parc des Princes.

Both Real Madrid and Arsenal have been linked with world-record offers for the teenager, who could potentially leave the Ligue 1 champions during the summer.

Real are the strong favourites to sign the French international, but Emery has claimed that the young attacker should join his side ahead of next season.
The 45-year-old told reporters in Spain: “When we speak of Mbappe here in Spain, we talk about Real or Barca. But I’m at PSG and I say: ‘What could be more beautiful than representing a French team?’.

“With all respect to Monaco, he should come to Paris, he has family here. His parents live here, he went to an academy here. We spoke of feeling, passion, desire – and what could be more beautiful than representing your city and being important.
“I don’t know if Real like him, or if Barcelona do or Tottenham or Arsenal do. But if he has to leave Monaco, I say: ‘What is better for him, for France, for PSG, that there be a union between the player and his city’.”

Mbappe has already scored a total of 27 goals in 54 appearances for Monaco in all competitions.

Sports / FFF President Expects Madrid Boss Zidane To Coach France by samsonslides: 9:03am On Jun 15, 2017
French Football Federation (FFF) president Noel Le Graet expects Zinedine Zidane to coach France in the future, describing it as a “logical continuation”.

Zidane has made a seamless transition from player to coach, leading Real Madrid to Champions League and LaLiga glory in 2016-17, having claimed European silverware in his maiden campaign.

While he remains happy at the Santiago Bernabeu, former France captain Zidane – who won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 as he amassed 108 international caps – is seen as a future coach of the national team.
“That is a logical continuation,” Le Graet told RMC radio when asked about the possibility of Zidane coaching France in the future.

“It is likely that one day he will be interested.”

Le Graet continued: “For the moment I think he still has a lot to give to Real and the club suits him perfectly.

“I can’t believe what he is doing. I spoke to him two or three years ago, and at the time I was strongly advising him to go to Bordeaux or somewhere else, to start his career at a Ligue 1 club or somewhere more modest.”

“You must go back to tradition because you have veered off the track. Football is a teamwork and it is the responsibility of the technical committee to plan the team’s game, monitor and execute it with the coaching staff.”

Sports / Manchester United Hint At Wayne Rooney Departure On Facebook? by samsonslides: 3:06pm On Jun 14, 2017
Manchester United have reportedly appeared to suggest that Wayne Rooney will no longer be part of the club next season.

The captain’s future has been widely discussed in the media over the last few months, with many claiming that he could leave Old Trafford due to the lack of first-team action on offer at his club of 13 years.

The 31-year-old forward rejected a big-money move to the Chinese Super League in January, instead pledging his short-term future to the Red Devils.
Recently, Rooney revealed that he has received offers from clubs in England and abroad, with MLS in the United States being touted as a potential option.

The England skipper’s boyhood club Everton have also been a rumoured suitor, but a recent report claimed that he is unwilling to take a pay cut to return to Goodison Park.
His future destination may be uncertain, but according to the Manchester Evening News, United have indicated that Rooney will leave the club after removing him from their banner on Facebook.

The forward was initially part of a picture lineup alongside Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, but now only three players remain in the image advertising the club’s new kit.

Sports / Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘opens Los Angeles Galaxy Talks’ by samsonslides: 5:03pm On Jun 13, 2017
Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly begun negotiations with representatives from the MLS ahead of a potential move to America.

The 35-year-old scored 28 goals in 46 appearances during his solitary season at Old Trafford, but was not offered a contract extension by the Red Devils after picking up a serious knee injury which could keep him sidelined until 2018.

Ibrahimovic is now a free agent, and MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy have emerged as the front-runners to sign the veteran having freed up room in their squad following the departure of Robbie Keane.
The Swede had been linked with a move to the States last season, but instead opted for the switch to United and subsequently helped them to EFL Cup and Europa League glory.

United are still understood to be considering the option of offering Ibrahimovic a short-term deal to give him a chance to prove his fitness, but the Red Devils have also been linked with the likes of Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti.

Sports / Alli And Kane Worth More Than Messi And Ronaldo, New Study Claims by samsonslides: 11:34am On Jun 13, 2017
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo might be the dominant figures of 21st-century football but they are worth less than Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli according to analysis by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES).

Messi’s Barcelona team-mate Neymar comes out on top of the list compiled by the Swiss-based study centre, which estimates the value of the 110 most desirable players in Europe’s top five leagues, using an algorithm based on analysis of almost 2,000 paying fee transfers.

Neymar is valued at €210.7million under criteria considering performance, club, international status, age, position and marketability.

However, Messi, who turns 30 later this month and is reportedly on the verge of extending his contract at Camp Nou, comes in fourth on €151.7m, with England internationals Alli and Kane pipping him on €155.1m and €153.6m respectively following superb seasons for Spurs.
Ronaldo is favourite to match Messi with a fifth Ballon d’Or at the end of the year, having inspired Real Madrid to LaLiga and Champions League glory.

However, the 32-year-old comes in at €112.4m in the CIES standings, below Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suarez, Paul Pogba, Gonzalo Higuain, Eden Hazard and Paulo Dybala.

Ronaldo is the oldest player on the list, with Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe the youngest.

Despite being linked with a world record move to Real Madrid, Mbappe only registers €92.6m, ranking him below the likes of Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco.
Manchester United’s often-derided move to make Pogba the most expensive player in the world represents value for money in the CIES figures, although the previous holder of that accolade – Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale – finds himself down in 43rd position on €66.7m after an injury ravaged campaign.

CIES Football Observatory transfer value estimates – top 25

Neymar – Barcelona €210.7m
Dele Alli – Tottenham €155.1m
Harry Kane – Tottenham €153.6m
Lionel Messi – Barcelona €151.7m
Antoine Griezmann – Atletico Madrid €150.3m
Luis Suarez – Barcelona €140.8m
Paul Pogba – Manchester United €134.3m
Gonzalo Higuain – Juventus €120.2m
Eden Hazard – Chelsea €117.2m
Paulo Dybala – Juventus €115.3m
Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid €112.4m
Kevin de Bruyne – Manchester City €110.5m
Romelu Lukaku – Everton €105.4m
Robert Lewandowski – Bayern Munich €100.6m
Raheem Sterling – Manchester City €98.8m
Yannick Carrasco – Atletico Madrid €97.6m

Sports / Begovic Touts Terry For Bournemouth Move by samsonslides: 11:18am On Jun 13, 2017
Asmir Begovic would welcome John Terry following him from Chelsea to Bournemouth.

Bosnia-Herzegovina goalkeeper Begovic ended a two-year stay at Stamford Bridge by moving to the south coast in search of first-team football, having largely played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois for the Premier League champions.

Terry called time on his career-spanning Chelsea years at the end of the season and is yet to commit to playing on elsewhere.
Aston Villa were the latest side linked to the former England captain on Monday, but Begovic – who played for Bournemouth on loan earlier in his career – wants to see his old skipper make the move to Vitality Stadium.

“If he fancies Bournemouth it would be great to have him there,” he said, speaking at the Asmir Begovic Foundation Golf Classic.
“He’s a great player and a great guy as well, so from that point of view it would be really, really good.

“He’s obviously the best defender ever in the Premier League. He’s a legend at Chelsea and he deserves the right to make the right decision for himself and his family.”

Begovic added: “I hope he does whatever is right for him and he’s happy with the decision, and I wish him all the best for the future.”

Although the footballer is yet to confirm it, Portuguese outlet, SIC, reports that Ronaldo’s new little boy and little girl, named Mateo and Eva, respectively, came into the world on Thursday.

There had been speculation over whether Ronaldo’s current girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez was pregnant, after Ronaldo shared a curious Instagram post. However, she showed no signs of a baby bump, when she joined in the celebrations for Madrid’s Champions League victory last weekend.

The Mirror UK reported in March that Ronaldo was due to become the father of twin boys. The newspaper claimed a surrogate mother on the west coast of the US was heavily pregnant and was expecting the babies “very soon”.
It is believed that the 32-year-old fathered the twins through the same method he did with his son, Cristiano Jnr, who is now six years.

In July 2010, Ronaldo stunned the world when he announced on his social media feeds, that he had become a father.

The child’s grandmother, Dolores Aveiro, revealed in an approved biography published in July 2014 in Portugal, that she had picked the youngster up from a private hospital in Florida.
Ronaldo’s family has always refused to discuss whether his son was born to a surrogate mum, despite claims by a former nanny that the footballer’s sister Katia had told her he had two Mexican mums.

Carer Maria Manuela Rodriguez, who worked at Katia’s house in Moita near Lisbon for 10 months, told leading Portuguese tabloid Correio da Manha in August 2011: “Once I saw a newspaper article saying the child’s mother wanted him back.

Katia said: ‘That’s a lie, because the mum is Mexican and she didn’t even see if it was a boy or a girl, because she was a surrogate mum” adding that she told her Cristianinho was the “child of two mums.”
“She even told me the child had two mums, that the eggs were from one and another carried and gave birth to the child. And that both were Mexican.”

She added: “The child was born in a private clinic and the mother didn’t even see him, because she was covered up. The baby was born and she doesn’t know anything about him.”
