Get practical skills to solve problems . Nobody pay you for degrees they pay you to solve problems .Degrees are good but not enough to pay bills . |

iWise: This is not completely accurate. I know for a fact that the department of mathematics does not require SAQA. Every department require SAQA,however some depts like maths gives waiver to attract international students, knowing fully that International students are the backbone of research in the School . Media studies dept also gives waiver for this . |

staggerlee: The Government of South Africa has approved the immediate issuance of 5-year-visas to Nigerians who travel to South for business, job and career purpose.
This was made known in Lagos today by South Africa’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Lulu Mnguni.
Mnguni said SA approved the visa issuance to get rid of the difficulties usually faced by Nigerians when seeking South African visas.

I can't confirm please o Jobs and Career purposes are not included, just for business owners, professionals and frequent travelers. |

princecharles100: Hey, please guys, I have been here for years, honestly I will never advice my worst enemy to come here I have been busy for while to respond to your "wonderful advice" . What have you been doing over the years ?With due respect sir you came in with visitor visa and after it expired you got spousal visa under false marriage for 5years and you expect things not to be hard?It is 20times better to pursue postgraduate studies in South Africa than Nigeria .Virtually all SA Universities give scholarship in one form or the other and you can teach in schools around especially the sciences. It seems you came in without adequate information ,If you entered SA through backdoor or without definite plans of course things will be hard . |

stevetop: You might have a chance provided you can come up with a proposal that addresses an important issue - better still an area that hasn't been too well researched. Another clue is to lookout for the research interests of lecturers in schools of your choice, it might give you some clues as to what will interest them. I know Stellenbosch has a page where they host completed theses, you can download and read some- it helps to shape your critical thinking and the formulation of tenable research questions.
All the Best. You made a valid point |

geekybabe: segzy201 and others who can help.. pls kindly help out. I have a very big challenge.
I've been trying to secure a school for my msc (research) for over 6months now, but I have not been successful.
I have applied at almost all S.A. good schools. when I started d process I never expected it to be this hard because I have alot of pple over there who got admission without stress.
I have had saqa certificate for almost a year now. so Saqa is not the problem. I studied computer engineering.
uct, stellenbosch, up, all said i have to do honors. I can't afford dat after spending over 5years studying engineering in schl
Rhodes.. and unizulu said they can't take me cos of my 3.21 undergraduate cgpa
wits.. I spent 5months communicating back and forth with The problem is not your CGPA though some schools said it is low ,you need to write quality proposal that will attract potential supervisors,Unfortunately many students can not take time to write a good proposal .Sister check your proposal again and resubmit .I know a lady with the same 3.2 like yours and she was admitted for Masters(Mech.Engeering). |

staggerlee: Ask any one who swipes his naija card here in SA how much they charge? A friend used uba with his gtb card registered to his uba, he was charged 19 to 1, a day later, gtb sent him a mail and reversed the transaction that they used the wrong exchange rate and now charged him @ 25.9 to a rand. Another person paid at Mug and Bean, with his ecobank atm he was charged 26.3 to a rand. Someone else used her zenith Atm in New york, she was charged 295 to a dollar (this was 3 weeks ago)
But when you look at the exchange rate via google you will see 196 to $1 or 12.3 to R1. So bro find another means mehn. You can talk to aboki's to do a transfer for u I swipe also in SA but not 26 ,that is very high .I thought this forum is to help one another. |
