EducationWhen Is Held WAEC Results Going To Come Out? by SamySamy123(op): 9:04am On Aug 07, 2018
This is apparently one of the most striking question in the minds of many student now. First, i must say it is quite unfortunate that after writing WAEC examination, the results of some were HELD by WAEC. I am very sure that these students whose results were held are traumatised at this moment, and it is to tide them over that i made this post.

Now, if your WAEC result is written HELD, then note that a malpractice report was filed against you or your examination centre on the examination hall or probably from the marking venue.

WHEN WILL HELD WAEC RESULTS BE RELEASED?

According to WAEC, all Held results is likely to be released in November, 2018, after which the Nigerian Examinations Committee (NEC), must have concluded its meeting on the results.

It is also pertinent to note; as i have stated earlier, that these results are likely to be released. That means there is every tendency that they will not be released at all. It is depending on the out come to the impending meeting of the Nigerian Examinations Committee (NEC).

EducationGuides For Making First Class In The University by SamySamy123(op): 8:58pm On Jul 21, 2018
Students often find it very difficult to excel academically when they get to the university. This is because the university is apparently different from what they use to have in their primary and secondary schools. Coupled to this, they tend to be even more independent in the university than they were before. Thus, many ambitious students have seek to lay their hands on guides that will help them excel, or perhaps make a first class in the university.

As regards to this, i will be shearing with you the ultimate guild to make a first class in the university. It will also interest you to know that these guilds were not just guessed out, they have tested by many students, and have been proven to be tentative.

HOW TO MAKE A FIRST CLASS IN THE UNIVERSITY

First, it is worthwhile to know that your struggle for a first class in the university, should start the same day you attended your first lecture (your first day in school). Yes, no doubt about that. If you must graduate as a first class, you must start building up your result as early as the first day you stepped your foot in the university. Failing to do this may totally jeopardise your chance of success in the university, or make it totally impossible to make a first class in the university. On this note, it is important that you start being a workaholic, so as you get your self ready for the task.

 Be Determined

There can not be a success, without a driving force to instigate it. Making a first class is apparently not an easy job. It takes only a determined student to make a first class. This is why students who graduate as first class are often times, more respected by the populace than others students.

The journey isn't an easy one for sure, but with your determination and enthusiasm, it becomes more easier and straight forward. You have to promise yourself not to get distracted by any factor. And by being determined, you will find it very easy to employ other points mention below. In fact, you are already halfway your first class dream.

 Draw Your Success Plan

Next, is to draw your success plan. Drawing a success plan do not necessarily mean you should pick up a pen and book to sketch your success. It means that you should have a coherent and consistent plan to become a first class student. Obviously, a thief can not set out at night without having a plan. So also a student cannot make a first class without first and foremost, having a plan to guide him/her.

Having a plan helps a lot. Apart from the fact that it guilds you on the way to achieving your success, it also compels you to keep working relentlessly to achieve your aim. Thus, it is correct to say that making or drawing a success plan is very pivotal to make a first class in the university.

Study relentlessly

The feasible aspect begins here! To make a first class in the university, you must be prepared for a voracious and relentless reading. Like I have said before, you must be very prepared to be a workaholic and not just being a workaholic, a relentless one too. Of course, the university is a place of so much distractions. Sometimes you want to totally run away from them, but they still keep coming.

Well, they all contribute to the reason why students who made first class in the university are very much respected. So, to make a first class you must read voraciously, and must also be able to circumvent distractions when they come.

 Balance Your Living

Even though i mentioned that a relentless and voracious reading is needed to make a first class in the university. It is also important that you don't sidestep the advantages of a balanced life.

When I newly enrolled into the university, I had a friend who will wake up early in the morning, and will read his book till it was late. The truth is that, he did benefited from it at first, but as time went on, he became traumatised because he was seldom jovial with others. All he did was reading.

What this didactic story should teach you, is that living a balanced life is also very important to make a first class in the university. You should be able to communicate, associate and do other activities because they are all part of learning. Do not say because you are aiming for a first class, so you shouldn't do any other thing. However, you should also remember that studying is your primary purpose.

 Attend Lectures Persistently

This is another point many students still don't get right. There are so many things you can benefit from just attending lectures that you won't get by just reading books. The truth is that, if there was no importance of having a lecture, then your lectures would have just give you  a note, and ask you to read it. But for them to come to the classroom/lecture room, then there is obviously something they want you to know, that are not in your notebooks.

The importance of attending lectures, and equally paying attention during lectures cannot be overemphasised, as it contributes in the struggle of making a first class in the university. Thus, it is also worthwhile that you attend lectures; and pay attention in classes, because it is core to make a first class in the university.

 Take Examinations Serious

If you must excel in the university, or perhaps make a first class in the university, then you must not take your exams/tests trivial. The reason is because, it is only through what you pen down in your examination, that your hard work can be shown.

Every examination you take in the university contributes to your result; and will also determine if you are really going to make a first class or note. So, if you are not serious with your examinations, it is likely that you will have to remain in the university repeating courses. At that time, being a first class student will turn out to be an illusion.

  Join Educative group discussion

Though subject to the kind person employing it, joining educative group discussion is another awesome way to learn; and to teach others. I have met with students who seldom read their books, but always want to learn through discussion groups. Joining educative discussion groups have been one of the cogent ways to learn. Reason because, it is very much easier to remember what is learned in a discussion with friends or classmates, than remembering what is thought in the classroom. Students who are aware of this, have long device it, and some have not. However, like i have said before, this might not be a comfortable idea to some students. So, to make a first class, and excel in the university, you might need a study or educative group.

Yes, writing letters or answering questions that requires a letter in WAEC or NECO examination gives you a chance of getting more marks in the exam, nonetheless, they can also cause you to fail vastly, except you take cognizance of some pertinent guides.

Today, i will teach you how to write a perfect formal and informal letter in WAEC/NECO Examination. Note that the guides provided here are the most accepted guides and format for writing a letter in WAEC examination. So, if you have been looking for the best way to answer letter writing question in WAEC/NECO Examination, here you have the guides.

HOW TO WRITE AN IFORMAL LETTER IN WAEC/NECO EXAMINATION:

An informal letter is a letter you write to your parents, siblings, relation, friends, classmates and acquaintances. In other words, it is a later you write to people who are closely related to you. The kind of language in an informal letter is always friendly. It may also contain expression(s) of goodwill, gratitude, comfort/consolation, depending on the objective of that letter.

Below is a perfect format for writing an informal letter in WAEC or NECO examination:

Sender's address
Date
Salutation
Body
Complementary close
Full name of the sender

In other to be very elaborative, we will discuss these various parts of an informal letter below:

Sender's Address

An informal letter carries only one address, and that is the address of the sender. This address is written at the top right corner of the paper. Note that this address must clearly provide information about the place where the sender resides, and must be punctuated with comer(,) after every line of the addresss

The example given above is the block form of address. The block form of writing an address is the best form to use when writing a letter, because it is generally accepted by everyone.

Date
Immediately after the address of the sender, the date of the latter will follow (at the top right corner of the paper). Below is how your date should look like:

26 January, 2018.

Salutation

Your salutation will come immediately after the address and date. Informal salutations are personal and sometimes shows the type of relationship between the sender and the receiver. For example:

Dear Mum,
Dear Aunt Buky,
My Dear Baby, etc.

Please note that your salutation must be followed with a comma (,) sign.

Body
The body of the letter is divided into three parts namely:

The introduction
Main body
The conclusion

Introduction:

In the introduction, you are allowed to ask for information about the health and welfare of the receiver, pleasant exchange of news or chitchat with the receiver.

Main body:

The main body is the part that carries the main information in the letter. It is made up of 2 to 7 paragraph, depending on what the objective of the letter is.

The Conclusion:

The conclusion is where you summarise all that you have been saying from the introduction, down to the main body of the letter.

4. Complementary close

The complimentary close ends with informal, personal or pet names viz:

Yours Loving Son,
Yours Sincerely,
Forever Yours, etc.

Note that comer(,) must follow after your complementary close.

5. Full name of the sender

After the complimentary close, the full name of the sender should come next, and must end with a full stop(.).

Note: Always remember to punctuate your sentences very well, as that will go a long way in earning you higher marks in the exam. Put a full stop(.) in the place it should be, and a comer(,) in the place it should also be.

HOW TO WRITE A FORMAL LETTER IN WAEC/NECO EXAMINATION

Formal letter is the type of letter that is adopted in official or business transactions. Thus, it can also be called an official or business letter. The type of language often used in formal letters is standard English or nothing else.

It is also pertinent to note that Pidgin English, slangs and colloquialisms are not allowed in a formal letter, because this type of letters are writing to an Official position.

FORMAT FOR WRITING A FORMAL LETTER IN WAEC/NECO EXAMINATION

The sender's address
Date
The receiver's address
The salutation.
The heading or title.
The body.
Complementary close.
Signature.
Full name.

Okay, we will also discuss each of this guilds to help you understand them properly.

The sender's address

Like in the informal letter, the address of the sender comes first, and is written at the top right corner of the letter.

Date
After the address of the sender, the date of the letter is attached to it at the top right corner.

Make sure you add a full stop(.) after writing your date.

The receiver's address

The receivers address is now added below the sender's address, and is written at the top left corner of the paper.

Note: Always remember to add a comer(,) after every line of your address and the address of the receiver. A full stop(.) should also be added after each address.

Salutation

In a formal letter, the salutation can either be "Dear Sir," or "Dear Madam", depending on the sex status of the receiver.

Salutations must always be written at the left hand side after the receiver's address.

The heading or title

After the salutation, the title of the letter should follow. The Title should be the topic sentence of the letter. For example,

Application for the use of the school hall.
Permission to be absent at work.

Please note that it is always safe to write your title with capital letters without underlying them. It is more formal to write it that way.

Body

The body of the letter is the most important part of the letter. The body of a letter is divided into three major parts namely:

The Introduction
The Main body
And The Conclusion

This various parts have been discussed in my teaching on informal above.

The complementary close

In a formal letter, the complimentary close must be "Yours Faithfully,". It should be written at the right side of the letter after the body.

Note that the first letters in the compliment is capitalised. Also, a comer must follow after the the compliment.

Signature

The signature of the sender should be explicitly made below the complimentary close.

Senders full name

Lastly, the full name of the sender should be added below his/her signature, and must be followed by a full stop(.).

Okay, that is how you can write a perfect formal or informal letter in WAEC/NECO Examination and get your full mark in it. No doubt about it, the authenticity of this guild has been attested of by many students. So, i recommend that you perfect them, and smash any question on letter writing when you get to the examination hall. Hope this was helpful?

EducationImportance Of The Library To Students by SamySamy123(op): 9:52am On Jul 20, 2018
The word Library is derived from the Latin word "Liber", which simply means Book. A Library is defined as a building or room containing a collection of books and periodicals for the use of members of the public or members of an institution. The importance of a library in every school, can not be overemphasized as it will help to facilitate learning amongst students. It is pertinent to note that a library is not just a collection of books alone. Most of the libraries in this contemporary time, contain other collections such as films and recordings, kept for research or borrow.

Nonetheless, today i will discuss extensively, the divergent importance of a school library to students. So, if you really want to know the importance of a library to a student, then you have no problem reading this.

IMPORTANCE OF LIBRARY TO STUDENTS

 1. For research purpose

One of the key importance of every library is for research purpose. This is the main reason why libraries are established in almost every institution in the world. Many a time, students come across some academic problems which without a thorough research, they will not be able to find answers to.

This is where the library becomes pertinent. Library provide students with the needed materials to do their researches. It serve as an information source for students, and every member of an institution.

2. Promotion of enlightenment and leisure

A library also serve as a facilitator of enlightenment and leisure amounts students. A library is not only a place for research and reading, it can also serve as a place for leisure. There are some library material that can be used for leisure. For example: Video tapes, Journals, magazines etc.

More so, reading of library materials also serve as enlightenment to many students and teachers. It is an eyeopener for students to learn various things, which they probably deemed impossible, through its superb collections.

 3. Development of study skill

The library is also a means through which one can develop his/her study skill. This is, in fact, one of the most fundamental reason why libraries are established. It provides students with everything that is needed for study, and help in inculcating the necessary skills they need to develop.

Research has shown that schools with good library tend to be more populated by intelligent students. This fact is uncontestable, as those students are much more exposed to good study resources.

4. Current awareness service

The library is another great source for latest happenings in every field of study. This is made possible by the availability of resources like journals, periodicals and magazines. A library can also be referred to as an awareness center, as they help in creating awareness amongst students and teachers about the current stand of some educational concepts.

For this reason, every student is advised to incessantly visit the library anytime they are in search of any information in their field of study.

 5. Inculcating of reading habit

Library also tend to inculcate reading habit amongst students through its stupendous collections. During my secondary school education, it was difficult to come to my school library, and not find me reading. At first i heated reading books, but my consistent visit to the school library inculcated that habit.

When students constantly visit the library, it gradually inspires them through it study materials, to continue coming to the library, as they will always find new things when they do.

 6. Equal access to materials

While some students can easily go to the market to buy books because they have the money to do so, some students cannot. As such, they are restricted to some academic resources. It is with the aim to solve this problem that libraries were built in schools. To provide an equal access to books and materials in school for students who are unable to get them.

Today, a student of any school can easily enter his/her school library to read any material in it, without being asked for money in exchange. Thus, it is right to say that a library provides equal access to academic books for every student.

Final words

A library is one of the most important place every student must visit to foster learning and thorough reading as highlighted in the points above. On this ground, it is important that every academic institution in the world, establish a school Library, as it has been shown to be a great contributor to the development of the standard of education.
