A Nigerian man identified as Kingsley O. has been arrested in Turkey for allegedly defrauding a Hong Kong-based dentist of $2.5 million through a romance scam.

According to Turkish news outlet Haberler on Friday, Kingsley and four accomplices were arrested in Esenyurt, a district of Istanbul Province, following an investigation into an alleged online fraud scheme that spanned two years.

The report stated that the suspect, who allegedly posed as an American businessman named Richard, met the victim, identified as Siu P.Y.F., online in 2020 and promised to marry her.

Investigators said the pair maintained a long-distance relationship through phone communication, during which the suspect allegedly convinced the woman that he was carrying out a major investment project in Istanbul and needed financial assistance.

Believing they would eventually get married, the dentist reportedly transferred a total of $2.5 million in instalments to several bank accounts in Turkey between 2020 and 2022.

However, after receiving the funds, the suspect allegedly cut off communication and became unreachable, prompting the victim to report the matter to authorities in Hong Kong.

The report noted that initial investigations by Hong Kong police did not yield results, leading the victim to engage a Turkish lawyer and lodge a complaint with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Subsequently, operatives of the Istanbul Police Department’s Fraud Bureau traced the bank accounts that received the funds and arrested five account holders.

While four of the suspects reportedly denied knowledge of the transactions, one suspect allegedly told investigators that he handed over the money received in his account to a Nigerian man known to him as Richard.

The confession reportedly led investigators to Kingsley, whom police identified as the alleged mastermind behind the scheme.

He was arrested during a police operation and taken into custody for questioning.

The report stated that Kingsley denied the allegations during interrogation.

He and five other suspects were later arraigned in court under tight security following the conclusion of police investigations.

Authorities allege that the suspect used a false identity to convince the victim to part with the funds under the guise of a romantic relationship and planned marriage.

There are several rulers who have claimed and still claim to be worshippers of God. There are very many. I do not know their personal walk with God. I do not have any knowledge of their inner lives. I only know of their claims. I cannot speak for anyone because only the Lord knows those who are His. Men look on faces but God looks on the heart.

But to say no one is worshipping God among the rulers, means you're taking the position of God presumably to determine those who are worshippers of God. You're still in another error.

Great write-up, FxMasterz. Your explanation lays out very clearly why no one is in a position to claim their particular church group is the only true one serving God.

The real question, though, is whether he was able to process any of what you shared.

There's a difference between reading words and truly comprehending them.

Based on his response, it appears comprehension is a genuine struggle here. When someone is discouraged from pursuing higher education, as his leaders have apparently done, it can limit their ability to engage with complex ideas. He doesn't seem able to absorb what you carefully laid out.

What's particularly unfortunate is that he also appears unable to fully understand the teachings his own organization provides. His own community here seems to have distanced themselves from his comments out of embarrassment.

I commend you for your patience in trying to have a dialogue. Conversations like this are challenging, especially when there's such a gap in understanding.

Now Jehovah's Witnesses doesn't mean only those presently associating with the Governing Body but faithful people throughout the world, they can be in any religion as in ANY RELIGION but one thing that we use to IDENTIFY our brothers is such a person will be loyal, faithful, sincere and honest with whatever religion he is practicing.
So when we find them the next thing is to use the spiritual dragnet to bring them home to the Governing Body.

If a faithless person is born by member of Jehovah's Witnesses or due to find qualities the person noticed in the group join the organization lack of loyalty, faith, sincerity and honesty will not allow the person to stand among God's people:

Who may ascend to the mountain of Jehovah, And who may stand up in his holy place? Anyone with innocent hands and a pure heart, Who has not sworn a false oath by My life, Nor taken an oath deceitfully. Psalms 24:3-4
