Collins0609: Whether you like it or not, tradition remains tradition. Let me lecture you on Tolerance Tolerance is about accepting people view even when it's different from yours. I believe you are learned but don't allow your emotion cloud your judgement. If you are a Christian, you must have heard apostle Paul saying if you go to the Rome behave like the Romans and likewise if you are in Samaria Enjoy your tradition, let's enjoy ours. We no dey complain.
So the Man should sieze the family properties just because he held custody of it. How many properties have he sold. What about the dividend from the land that he has been enjoying. If the said uncle is previledges to such don't you think he would have been successful. Don't let emotion cloud your judgement. You no Dey complain because let me guess, you are not a woman. Am I right? No one is saying the man should hold on to the properties. Majority are advocating that the common sense thing to do is to divide the properties down to the middle. That’s assuming only two of them are the offsprings of the deceased. |

vincenteger: Do you want to deny him his birth right Sentiment apart, he's still the first son
Your father should call him for a meeting together with the elders and resolve this issues.
What about his family? If there's non then you don't have to worry much He is likely to sell those properties the moment they get to him. Your dad can buy them from the back.
You father should present the properties that him & your uncle is aware of.
But come to think of it, I believe these properties are on rent and if they are on rent that means your father must have recovered the money he used for renovations and even for the burial of your grand parents. So I think you dad is also owing him money too.
Please don't allow sentiment to cloud your judgement. Who made this senseless law of “first son inherits everything”? So the other children are not regarded as legitimate? You see why folks cannot trust an Igbo man with ruling the country? When a man dies in other cultures, especially in the Yoruba culture, the properties are shared equally amongst all the children. Even the married female child. My Igbo peeps need to do a lot of learning and relearning. Not just on issues like these, but also on misogyny, homophobia and uncouthness. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Inside Soweto's First Government Gay Clinic - LESSONS by Sassenach: 8:57pm On Sep 19, 2023 |
Botragelad: You're making a lot of assumptions and generalisations that are not based on facts or logic. First of all, gays not getting healthcare is not a danger to everyone. It's a danger to gays themselves, who are discriminated against and denied access to basic human rights and services.
The same homophobic guys bashing gays here are not the ones sending HIV back home to their wives. That's a false and offensive stereotype that stigmatises both gays and HIV-positive people. HIV is not a gay disease, it can affect anyone regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Again, they're not sleeping with gays. That's another false and offensive stereotype that implies that gays are promiscuous and predatory, and that they seduce or coerce straight men into having sex with them. This is not only homophobic, but also heterosexist, as it denies the existence and validity of bisexual and other non-heteronormative identities. The reality is that most people have sex with people they are attracted to and consent to, regardless of their labels or categories.
No one wants to divert attention away from themselves. Another ridiculous and paranoid claim that suggests that they have something to hide or be ashamed of. The fact is that they don't need to divert attention away from themselves, because they already have the privilege and power of being part of the dominant and normative group in society. They don't face the same challenges or threats as gays do. They don't have to worry about being harassed, bullied, assaulted, fired, evicted, disowned, or killed because of who they love or how they identify. He is right. Most homophobes are gay on the down low. They hate on gay people because of the self hatred for being the way they are. And yes, not providing healthcare to those that are gay affects the community at large. We have seen many instances of homophobes who sleep with men on the down low and take all kinds of diseases back to their “wives”. |

Boc007: It was hard at first. I was timid while growing up, I had to read books that brought me out of that mental slavery.
I have a fully fenced 1 plot of land for sale at Awoyaya, Lekki-Epe Expressway, back of UBA pharmacy, Lagos state. It’s 3 minutes walking distance. And this area is covered with houses almost everywhere.
Title: Deed of Assignment, Survey plan, family consent. Land is free of acquisition. Contact me to get full details.
The owner is a very close person.

JohnBullMySon: Ok let me tell you how this things work in reality. Hardly is there any school in the US is UK that sits to teach these things to young children. There's simply no school that teaches young children sex acts.
These are books that are mostly targeted at late teens but are kept in school libraries where kindergarten may be able to access technically.
Conservatives will find these books in the libraries and begin to spin silly narratives. Their number one weapon is fear mongering, telling us that things are getting destroyed while in reality nothing ever gets destroyed. The guy that told us that he's the only one who can save America is the same person that almost destroyed the Independence of American institutions. You succinctly made a valid point. It breaks my heart to see certain Nigerians (insert Igbos) support the orange guy because he massages their toxic masculinity. |

If they had common sense in the first place, they would be developed to a point where they wouldn’t need foreign aid. They lack common sense. Aufbauh: I've stop taking those zombidients seriously as they lack the mental capacity to engage constructively. Ignoramus and political neophytes are not worth my time.
Even when the Op is giving their principal a nod wrongly to be the man for the job. They lack the comprehensive prowess to support him simply because he observed certain flaws in Obi's supporters.
Bunch of labourers happily labouring in vain and in pretentious tears.
One question I always ask them if they feel so confident in that naivety is that, when is the last time they predicted a presidential candidate and he won? People with poor sense of judgement.
They supported & predicted GEJ 2015 and he failed They supported & predicted Atiku 2019 and he equally failed They're supporting & predicting Obi for 2023 and the outcome will be the same.

Sassenach: I have been closely following politics for a while now and must admit that Peter Obi checks a lot of the the right boxes that could make for a decent leader. I can’t help however the concern I feel when I read about or interact with his supporters. I understand the economic situation in Nigeria is presently devastating, but there are certain matters so many wouldn’t take for granted and ranks high on the list compared to stomach infrastructure. Here are some of the disturbing things I have noticed - 1. Pro dictator regimes e.g Russia - can someone please explain to me like I am a 5 year old why anyone in their right mind would support a country that invaded another sovereign nation and be ok with it. 2. Pro Trump - I don’t understand why folks whose ancestors were taken as slaves would support a racist bigot. Again please explain to me like I am 5 years old. 3. Anti LGBTQ - and please don’t quote the Bible on this argument. Their forefathers practiced this since time immemorial. Long before the white man came with his Bible. Tell me why you would support capital punishment for two consenting adults for loving who they love? There are so many other disturbing traits about most of Obi’s supporters that I will add as I remember. Please add yours. Seun, mynd44 Dominique |

Most Nigerian Muslims support Russia in the war against Ukraine.
Most Nigerian Muslims are antiLGBTQ.
So are most Muslims supporting Peter Obi?
Btw, homosexuality is insanity.. Inasmuch I don't support punishment for those into it, anyone supporting homosexuality is mentally deranged. Did you come into this world through the anus of a man? I lived in the north for several years and I can confirm to you that northerners are actually the most tolerant of LGBTQ in Nigeria. The yorubas I have interacted with are very diplomatic around such issues. Igbos however are the most angry and tactless sect around matters surrounding homosexuality. My guess is that, the reason for such show of emotion is self loathing. There is no reason to feel so passionately about how others chose who they love unless it personally affects you. I can authoritatively tell you that most Trump voters and supporters who are black are Nigerians as well as pro Russia. |

Workch: I am obedient, I don't support Trump, I am neutral as regards LGBT and yes, I think I support Russia in this war because of the western hegemony. So per your logic, it is ok for another country to invade a sovereign nation such as Nigeria due to perceived hegemony. In this vein, would you be upset at anyone who support herdsmen for invading an eastern territory in Nigeria? |
