Celebrities / John Fashanu And Ex-wife Abigail Divorce Saga by SassySteph(f): 11:34pm On Sep 12, 2015 |
Ex-England soccer star John Fashanu says he has been hit with a £3million divorce court demand by his estranged wife. The former striker, nicknamed Fash the Bash for his hardman reputation, claims Abigail Onyekwelu wants £2.5million up front plus £10,000 a month. Fash, 52, says she also wants him to buy a new motor of her choice every two years. But last night Abigail, 48, branded the star a “lunatic dreamer” and said: “I didn’t ask for anything cos there’s no point killing a dead man.” The bizarre war of words between the high-profile couple broke out after Fashanu, a former team-mate of Vinnie Jones in Wimbledon FC’s “Crazy Gang” era, described his wife’s alleged demands as outrageous. Speaking exclusively to the Sunday People, Fashanu said: “She clearly wants her pound of flesh now, but financially she did very well out of our marriage. “I gave her £3,500 a month, I bought her a beautiful house and a brand new Kia Jeep. “She’s welcome to keep them, that’s no problem, but not a share of my assets. “We were only married for two years and we only actually lived together for about the first month of that. “For her to want £2.5million, it’s outrageous.” But Abigail, who lives in Abuja, Nigeria, said: “I’m the only good thing that has ever happened to his life in the recent past. He came to my house with nothing. “It is very unfortunate that I was in union with a lunatic, a dreamer, a man suffering from temporal insanity. “John Fashanu is just using this opportunity to hype himself. My advice to him is to forget that we were once married and move on.” The divorce case is set to be heard at Abuja’s High Court from September 22. Fashanu, a former TV Gladiators host, earlier told the Sunday People his wife tried to kill him with his Samurai sword after she claimed to have found him bedding two women at once, including their maid. British-born Fashanu, now a businessman with interests in London and Nigeria including a string of restaurants, said last week: “During the marriage, my sister was attacked and I was stabbed in my hand and my foot. “I was a nervous wreck – it should be me asking for compensation. “I’m sure the judge will make the right decision.” Abigail, who denies all Fashanu’s allegations, insisted: “The court papers will prove I’m not asking for anything.” www.lailasblog.com/2015/09/john-fashanu-says-ex-wife-abigail-has.html?m=1 Cc:lalasticlala

Crime / [UPDATED] Seven Dead, 13 Injured In Adamawa IDP Camp Explosion – NEMA by SassySteph(f): 6:58pm On Sep 11, 2015 |
The Adamawa State Government has confirmed that seven people died and 13 were injured in an explosion that occurred at the Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons camp, near Yola, on Friday morning. The state Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmad Sajoh, confirmed the incident to newsmen after a visit to the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, where the injured persons were receiving treatment. Sajoh said four officials of the National Emergency Management Agency were among the injured persons. He also said another blast was reported in Madagali, but that the casualty figure was still unknown. “I just got the report of another blast in Madagali but as I speak to you, I am still trying to get the actual picture of the situation. “I got the report from officials of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency,” Sajoh said. He said the state government would foot the bill of all those injured in the Malkohi incident. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that following the Malkohi blast, security operatives have commenced fresh screening of all IDPs at the camp. All the IDPs where gathered in one section of the camp as policemen, soldiers and other officials of the camp embarked on the screening. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gabriel Adaji, who spoke on the development, said security had been beefed up at the camp to forestall a reoccurrence. Adaji said it was possible that the persons that came with the explosive that rocked the camp joined the IDPs that were brought to the camp on Thursday night from Madagali. “We suspect one of those IDPs that came newly, possibly they beat the security checks to cause this tragedy. “It is unfortunate. We are now trying our best to see that such incident does not happen again,” he said. The NEMA Camp Coordinator in Adamawa, Mr. Saad Bello, confirmed that a total of 298 IDPs from Madagali and 17 from Sambisa forest were brought to the camp on Thursday night. www.punchng.com/news/explosion-hits-adamawa-displaced-persons-camp-nema/ Cc:Lalasticlala |
Religion / 65 Yr Old Woman Gets Flogged Over Witchcraft Allegations In Sokoto by SassySteph(f): 6:39pm On Sep 11, 2015 |
A 65 year old woman in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto state was reportedly flogged with twelve strokes as punishment for allegedly practicing witchcraft. The victim, Zainab Labbo, according to some residents in an interview with Jourlistsa, was flogged at the palace of the District Head, Alhaji Nasiru Malami Ahmed, in response to a complaint lodged against her by a daughter-in-law. It was said that victim’s daughter-in-law had lodged a complaint before the traditional ruler last year, alleging her mother-in-law of aiding her son (name withheld) through diabolical means to maltreat her. The residents revealed that the palace authorities summarily tried the accused and found her guilty of the allegation leveled against her. The aged woman denied the allegation to journalists who were there to investigate the incident. She also confirmed that twelve strokes were administered on her by the palace guards on the order of the District Head. Confirming the incident, the aggrieved residents at a press conference said that the woman was not the first victim to suffer such an unjust treatment by palace authorities. They added that many residents have been invited to the palace and summarily tried for one offence or the other. “Our people are under siege by the gross and jungle justice of the palace authorities but nobody was ready to speak out before now. “We are just courageous enough to invite you people (journalists) to Isa town and see things for yourselves. We have decided to tell the whole world what we are passing through at Isa district. To let the whole world khow we are being subjected to a jungle justice system by the palace authorities”, the locals complained. A resident of the town, Alhaji Sani Dallatu, also accused the younger brother of the District Head, Alhaji Aliyu Sarkin-Yamma, for “sponsoring an attack on him”. This, he alleged, led to the destruction of his vehicle and the damage of some windows of his house. Another victim, Alhaji Umar Kwambe, an Education Officer of Bargaja area in Isa Local Government Education Authority, said he lost N1 million to hoodlums allegedly “sponsored” to attack him by the District Head. The stolen money, according to the victim, was meant for the payment of the August 2015 salaries of 53 primary school teachers whose salaries ranged from N10,000 to N60,000. They called on the state governor, Rt. Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and His Eminence, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, to come to their aid, as a matter of urgeny. When contacted, the District Head, Alhaji Nasiru Malami Ahmed, could not be reached for comment, as palace guards confirmed that he was away for other engagements. However, reacting on behalf of the District Head, Alhaji Aliyu Sarkin-Yamma, who is his younger brother and Village Head of Tsabre area, described the the allegations as “unfounded”. The Village Head explained that all disputes lodged at the palace are handled in accordance with the dictates of Shari’ah Law. He said both himself and his brother are running the affairs of the people with the absolute fear of God, saying, “we are only dispensing justice in accordance with Shari’ah Law and we are not afraid of any probe in this direction.” The Divisional Police Officer in the area, Mr Ilyasu Tanko, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), confirmed the receipt of the complaints of attacks from Kwambe and Dallatu, adding that the police is appropriately investigating the matter. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/65-year-old-woman-gets-twelve-strokes-over-witchcraft-allegation-in-sokoto/ 2 Shares

Politics / President Buhari Is Far Richer Than He Declares (PICTURE PROOF) by SassySteph(f): 1:35pm On Sep 10, 2015 |
Controversies continue to trail the wealth of the Nigerian leader. Reading from the document submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Garba Shehu, the presidential aide, had revealed that President Buhari, had N30 million, 270 heads of cattle, among other things. However, in December 2014, Buhari in a Facebook post hinted that he had about N1 million in his account, about 150 of cattle and houses in Kaduna, Kano and Daura. But there was no mention of any property in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. Buhari had said: “I have at least one million naira in my bank, having paid N5.5m to pick my form from my party. I have around 150 (head of) cattle because I am never comfortable without cows.” But the president did not explain how his 150 head of cattle and about N1 million in December 2014 increased to 270 head of cattle and N30 million in less than a year later. Particularly, Buhari had said that he had to borrow the N27 milllion he needed to procurement his presidential form from his party. Taking to the mind the fact that cattle usually give birth to a calf at once and has a growth period of between 250 and 310 days, it seems illogical that the herd has grown to 270, except more heads were added. According to survey, a big cow now sells for N250,000. A medium-sized cow goes for between N100,000 and N110,000, while a small cow now sells for between N70,000 and N75,000. Most of the cattle, rams and goats are imported from Chad, Niger Republic and Cameroon and the cost of transporting them has increased. Consequently, President Buhari is 18.9 – 65.7 million naira richer then he says if one decides to convert his cows into cash. gossip9aija.com/news/politics/president-buhari-is-far-richer-than-he-declares-picture-proof/ Cc:Lalasticlala 1 Like
