Dr. Clement Awakessien today Thursday, May 21, 2026 led other Stakeholders, Youths, Women and Party faithfuls from Mbiaso Ward 3, Nsit Ibom LGA including former Member representing Nsit Ibom State Constituency in AKHA, now Honorary Special Adviser (HSA) to Governor on Youths Development, Hon. (Otuekong) Ifiok OS. Udoh, the APC Ward Leader, Mr. Arthur Peter Arthur, SSA to Governor on Female Youths, Mrs. Esta Samuel Bob, Special Adviser on Economic Development/ Labour & Productivity in Nsit Ibom LGA, Engr. Samuel Wilson, Deputy Leader of Nsit Ibom Legislative Council & Honourable Councilor representing Mbiaso Ward 3, Hon. The APC Governorship Primary Election took place today at the Ward Centre, Comprehensive Secondary School, Edeobom 1, Nsit Ibom LGA was conducted in a peaceful manner with all amount of transparency, free, fair and credible which saw the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno PhD unanimously nominated unopposed by the good loving people of Mbiaso Ward 3 in Nsit Ibom LGA of Akwa Ibom State.

Speaking after the nomination of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, the APC State Youth Leader, Hon. Clement Awakessien however congratulated the Governor for his unanimous nomination today and thanked the people of Mbiaso Ward 3 for coming out enmass to enfranchised their civic responsibilities especially in their unanimous nomination of our dear Governor, Pastor Umo Eno in the show of appreciation and love to our Governor who has recently commissioned 11KM Owot Uta, Nung Oku Ekwere, Afaha Udoeyop- Edeobom 1 Road and the Construction of EkpoNwan Market about 85 percent completion which is located in Mbiaso Ward 3, Nsit Ibom LGA to boast the economic activities in the rural communities.

REP JIMBO RECEIVES THE AUDIENCE OF PARTY ASPIRANT AHEAD OF LOCAL GOVT ELECTIONS

In a consultative move, the member representing Abak/ Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency Hon. Clement Jimbo earlier today 29th July, 2024, received in the audience Prince Idara Ime Umanah of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in his Campaign Secretariat in Abak LGA.


Alongside Prince Idara Ime Umanah were Abak LGA political figures, including Hon. Utip Jeremiah, Ward Chairman of Abak Urban 1, Hon. Joseph Sunday Ekanem, Secretary of the Clement Jimbo Campaign Organization, and others.


Hon. Jimbo expressed his admiration and praised Mr. Ime for the enormous step taken by him to serve the good people of Abak LG, emphasizing that it is a call to service that will require commitment and hard work to be fulfilled. The lawmaker unequivocally pledged to support all qualifying candidates ahead of the LG elections.

In his avowed commitment to share prosperity and elevate members of his constituency to an enviable height, Rep. Clement Jimbo, Honourable Member Representing Abak, Etim Ekpo & Ika Federal Constituency at the National Assembly today presented an appointment letter to one of her constituents.

The appointment is one of the numerous jobs facilitated by Rep. Jimbo to his Constituents in which Miss Treasure John, a graduate of Accounting Department from the prestigious University of Uyo has been gainfully employed as Auditor II at the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation.

Presenting the letter of appointment to Miss Treasure John, at his office at the National Assembly in Abuja, Hon. Jimbo, urged her to be a good ambassador of Abak, Etim Ekpo & Ika Federal Constituency, Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria at large and should give her best to move Nigeria to greater heights and prayed that she will grow to the Zenith of Civil Service as a career civil servant.

The beneficiary of the Federal Lawmaker's magnanimity, Miss Treasure John, an indigene of Ikot Obong Ediene in Abak Local Government Area, who was elated, thanked Rep. Jimbo for facilitating the job for her when she least expected and prayed God to bless and give him more grace to impact more on his Constituents.

Governor Eno's 'Back to Farm' Initiative to Combat Food Inflation and Promote Economic Diversification in A'Ibom

On May 1, 2024, during the annual Workers' Day celebrations, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, announced a groundbreaking initiative to address food security and economic diversification: the "Back to Farm" program. This initiative declares the first and third Fridays of every month as Farm Days for all workers in the state. It's a bold step that aligns with Governor Eno's ARISE agenda, aimed at creating a sustainable and diversified economy.

The Back to Farm initiative is more than just a call to action; it's a response to the harsh reality of soaring food prices in Nigeria. According to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the food inflation rate in March 2024 was a staggering 40.01% on a year-on-year basis, which is 15.56% higher than the rate recorded in March 2023.

This alarming trend has made it increasingly difficult for citizens to afford daily meals, eroding their purchasing power and deepening economic hardships.

The causes of this inflation include a surge in demand for foreign exchange, government policy shifts such as the removal of subsidies on petrol, and ongoing insecurity in northern Nigeria, which has disrupted food production and distribution.

Governor Eno's Back to Farm initiative is designed to create a sustainable solution to these challenges. By encouraging state workers to dedicate time to agricultural activities, the programme aims to boost local food production, reduce dependence on food imports, and mitigate the impact of inflation.

This initiative is complemented by the Bulk Purchase Agency, which was established as a short-term measure to purchase food produce and resell it to citizens at discounted rates. While the agency offers temporary relief, Governor Eno is clear that returning to farming is the long-term solution to food sufficiency.

Under the Back to Farm initiative, state workers, including the governor, deputy governor, Executive Council members, and even lawmakers, will participate in farming activities. This approach serves as a model for the rest of the state, encouraging citizens to embrace agriculture as part of economic diversification.

The programme will not only increase local food production but also create opportunities for growth within the agricultural ecosystem, including crop and animal farming, agro-processing, and marketing.

Governor Eno's initiative sets an example for other Nigerian states and development partners. It underscores the importance of agriculture in stabilising the economy and combating food inflation. By promoting self-sufficiency and reducing reliance on food imports, the Back to Farm programme could play a crucial role in stabilising food prices and creating a more secure future for Akwa Ibom State.

As this initiative unfolds, all citizens, public officials, and development partners must embrace the Back to Farm program. By doing so, we can work together to build a more resilient economy, ensure food security, and ultimately combat the inflation that has impacted so many Nigerian households.

THE TRUTH STANDS THAT ABAK PEOPLE LOVE HON CLEMENT JIMBO

A very popular ancient Annang proverb put a question across - who would see a good thing but chooses sufferings ? The answer is absolutely no one.

One of the characteristics of a good community is that the people in it must love good things, support good things and never letting any good thing sleep off their grip. In Abak Local Government, there were times when political office holders made it a point to always abscond into the thin air immediately after their victory at the polls. But when Hon Clement Jimbo came on board, he broke that jinx and rewrote the narrative by making himself available to his constituents.

In May, 2023 even before the June 13th official inauguration into the Green Chamber , Hon Clement Jimbo had gone to Ika, came to Abak and also took a tour to Etim Ekpo, all just to say THANK YOU to all his constituents for standing by him during the general election.

During all these tours to the three local governments that make up his jurisdiction, he had ample time to interface with his constituents and this was an action which the people tagged - first in history by a law maker. How can Abak people not want a man like this ?

Hon Clement Jimbo has brought himself closer to the people. His down to earth life has accorded his constituents ample opportunity to reach out to him either through his constituency offices, his cell phone or by his made easy accessibility through face to face mode of communication. Hon Clement Jimbo is the first House Of Representatives Member, whom, almost all his constituents have his personal cell phone number. How then, can Abak people not want a man like this ?

Hon Clement Jimbo has empowered so many ; helped so many ; paid school fees for so many ; bought JAMB Forms for so many ; paid bursary to so many higher institution students ; organized free medical outreach with free surgery for so many youths and the aged ; distributed palliatives worth the tune of 70million naira to so many ; has given sewing machines and hair dryers to so many women ; trained so many women on cosmetology and empowered them with starter packs and start up cash ; facilitated employments of his constituents into various federal agencies ; graded Ediene/Etinan Road. I mean, this is the same man, that , within this brief period of just about 10 months , has been also able to distribute free exercise books and other educational materials to school pupils and also fixed street lights at strategic areas.

Through the emergence of Hon Clement Jimbo, the Mkpokporo and other Village Halls have been renovated, completed,and ready for use. So, how can Abak, his own people, not want such a man ?

Hon Clement Jimbo has raised so many motions on the floor of the House, which have passed first readings. Right from the first official seating of the House after the first inaugural meeting, Rep. Clement Jimbo, a first timer in the House, raised a motion and this started registering in the hearts of the House that a young, intellectual Abak indigene had come on board. Not only this, Rep. Clement Jimbo has never been quiet at the Plenary. He keeps speaking and will tirelessly speak until all his heart cries and outcries are passed and accented to. How then, can Abak people not want a vocal man of this nature ?

We are therefore, not disturbed at all, by the recent publication on the pages of the Sensor Newspaper concurrently promoted by Mr Mfon Umoh on his Facebook page with an impeachment threat, just to mislead the people with the misconception that Abak people did not want Hon Clement Jimbo again. Mr Mfon Umoh is just an attention seeking unsuccessful politician who has tried severally, to hold miniature powers but since it is God that makes leaders and not an individual that makes himself, his bids have always failed.

We hereby join our voices with Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika people to advise Mr Mfon Umoh and the Sensor Newspaper, never to speak falsely for Abak people. Abak has a voice and the voice of Abak is the voice of truth. If Mfon Umoh wants to speak for people, let him speak for himself, for his wife and for his little children.

The truth stands that Abak people want and love Hon Clement Jimbo and desire him so dearly to continue to represent them at the Green Chamber throughout his four years and beyond.
