Bro, Market Makers have seen the opportunity to collect big money ahead of the FOMC and Fed rate cut data. Most pairs are in a range because of this as they will eat both buyers and sellers money. I only got more interested in News because it helps me understand why certain moves happened or gives me a forehand knowledge of what market may do. But technical analysis is still the Numero Uno for me anyday. wiconse: |

See this retrace that just happened? Classic Market Makers move. Did it make me fear small, of course I'm human, but why am I still in the trade? I know that my strategy [which took me so much to have confidence in]would most likely work so it has palliated any negative emotions of the moment. If all the strategies out there worked, most people in forex [a whole 95%!!!] Wont be losing. I continue to repeat, a large percentage of what's on the internet is to make you go with the crowd. So GOLD went down and is giving about 30pips, almost covered the 40pips risk. Move your stop to entry once it breaks below that channel line and let's see if it can give us 300pips to around 155X to 154X Zone. See my battery level, I'm a big boy oh! You see that thing that @Jerryq says about people being indebted to the tune of millions because of forex? it's TRUE oh! There was a point in my life I was owing over $50K amongst family and friends [even one that turned my enemy ] and it was only the grace of God that took me out of debt. All this happened in a space of about 10yrs. Forex wasn't even that popular then.I said I never wanted to hear anything Forex in my life again and took a break for about 7yrs but I kept monitoring traders and it occured to me that for every trader that loses there is another trader that wins. If I was doing something WRONG MOST of the time [I remember someone loaning me $5k when dollar was 135 & the first trade i took was with 8lots after I just learnt 5 and 10 MA crossing! Had I known ],then there was someone else doing it RIGHT MOST of the time too to be chopping my money.From your list, for me finding an edge is the most important thing. If na agbero I study, when soldier come I go run, if I be doctor, I know say soldier go come beg me one day. Why? Because the doctor has an edge. If you ask me, getting an edge would give you the confidence to stick to the plan and be emotionless. Doctors have become so emotionless that they'd just tell you " I'm sorry we did all we were meant to do but we lost him, you still owe us 200k .Getting a system that works even 50% of the time and gives you at least 2 times the risk when in profits, is a GUARANTEE that you would be successful in this forex business. Why do we keep praying to our God? Is it because he answers our prayers all the time? No! But at the end we are alive and constantly have our daily sustenance, so that gives us the confidence to somehow hold on to Him through whatever periods we face. For me, according to your stated points, getting an edge is most important because: [1] Tells me that if I stick to the plan and take every opportunity that corresponds to my plan, as long as I take calculated risks to keep me in the game. [2] Whether this trade I'm about to take wins or loses, I know I'd have more wins in the end so I don't care. [3] That's how I've become profitable. Let's create a group and trade together real time, because I don't think most people get to benefit from posts here because of time lag,I don't want to be the one to manage the group because I know I wont be able to keep up with that, but if someone can, I can assure you I'd replicate what i learnt to turn my trading around, my word, my bond. | honestly this markets make me laugh. Gold has decieved people that it's going up but simple price actions and volumes said otherwise. Our sells at 1588, 1584 and 1580 are up 180pips now and it's going down more most probably. I'm holding. |

The entire world is saying buy Gold, will it go higher? Most probably but heavy money needs to get in and where do the large investors buy? It's where price is most favourable for them to get maximum returns. And that's where? Much lower. One thing is for sure, I'm paying attention to this.
