That's what he's doing. It's this thing where you throw in as many interesting words as you can come up with to make a sentence sound more technical or intelligent than it actually is.

Like, instead of saying "I went to visit a friend today"

You say, "I happened to drop by the home of an acquaintance of mine for a brief visit earlier in the day."

It's smart though, because it gives the appearance of intelligence.

Asides from his good use of English....he has a constructive line of reasoning...his views are just very divergent .....and may be because of life experiences...
