The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, has dismissed media reports that he opposed the ambition of the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, from his palace in Oyo town. The monarch spoke against the backdrop of the recent visit of Atiku’s wife, Titi, to his palace, during which she solicited the support of Oba Adeyemi for the candidature of her husband. The Alaafin was quoted in the media to have said the Yoruba people were happy with President Muhammadu Buhari, who is seeking re-election for a second term in office on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), saying Buhari has done more for the Yoruba than any other administration since 1999. A statement entitled: ‘Tragedy of Fake News’, personally signed by the Alaafin, said: “In recent time, I have been hurt by the pain inflicted on me by the circulation of fake news, especially on social media. Some users of the social media have been taking advantage of anomie to do a lot of havoc in our social life. “Ordinarily, I cannot imagine how some people will buy crediting statements supposedly from me, even in total falsehood without my consent and permission. The most recent and indeed most injurious of such stories was the visit of Mrs. Titi Abubakar to me recently. “Anybody familiar with my public life would not believe that the language of the said story, which suggested alienation of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar could have emanated from me. This is because all aspirants to all public office at all tiers of government are children of Oyo Palace, the political capital of the Yoruba. ‘Be that as it may, the Oyo Palace remains neutral as it leaves the ultimate choice to the people under the democratic tradition. “I and the Oyomesi, the Oyo traditional cabinet, accorded Mrs. Titi Atiku all courtesies befitting a distinguished Yoruba daughter, a loyal wife and example of virtuous womanhood, who took hundreds of Nigerian girls (sex workers) away from the streets of various Italian cities, brought them back home, rehabilitated and gave them vocational training and occupation.’’ https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/01/alaafin-dismisses-media-reports-on-atikus-alienation-from-oyo-palace/

Mr Joe Igbokwe, Publicity Secretary, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, says has advised Igbos to massively vote for President Muhammadu Buhari to avoid being onlookers in 2023. Igbokwe said this on the sidelines of a town hall meeting organised by the Ndi-Igbo in APC Lagos State. “May they never make the mistake of the past, because if they do, they will be spectators and onlookers in the matters of Nigerian politics, ” Igbokwe said. ”Again, we do not want the Igbo people to make the same mistake they made in 2015, because there is no road for PDP and it is going to be like that for a long time. ”If you have been clamouring to produce the President of Nigeria from the Igbo extraction, you must play the politics and this is the time. ”Assuming our people vote massively for APC this 2019, 2023 is sure and already near,” he said. According to Igbokwe, the APC-led administration has beaten the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hands down in terms of projects and structures on ground in the South East. ”We have been doing the arithmetic, almost four years of APC beat 16years of PDP hands down in terms of performance. “We have seen what we did not see in 16 years of PDP administration. The facts are there. That is what we are telling our people in the South East,” he added. https://dailypost-ng.cdn.ampproject.org/v/dailypost.ng/2019/01/28/2019-presidency-will-happen-igbos-fail-help-buhari-win-igbokwe/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=http%3A%2F%2Fdailypost.ng%2F2019%2F01%2F28%2F2019-presidency-will-happen-igbos-fail-help-buhari-win-igbokwe%2F

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, says President Muhammadu Buhari and the cabal running his government have become jittery following the statements of condemnation issued by the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union over the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen. In a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shuaibu, the former Vice-President urged Buhari to ensure that next month’s elections are free and fair or face the consequences. He said, “Buhari’s cabal is unhappy with the statements from the US, the British and the EU because they know that these world powers have agreed to re-route their latest and most technologically sophisticated spy satellites, including the NAOL-47 satellite, to provide comprehensive coverage over Nigeria on February 16. “The photographs these satellites will deliver cannot only show someone reading a newspaper but also which newspaper they are reading.” Recall that the Federal Government had, in a statement through Garba Shehu, stated that, “The nation’s security forces will confront any attempt to interfere with the process by elements from outside the country.” The PDP candidate, however, expressed concerns over the “desperation of the APC to rig the forthcoming elections;” and advised the Independent National Electoral Commission, the military and the Police not to allow themselves to be used by “those interested in turning Nigeria’s democracy on its head.” https://punchng-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/punchng.com/buhari-now-jittery-after-us-uk-warning-atiku/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fpunchng.com%2Fbuhari-now-jittery-after-us-uk-warning-atiku%2F

Clergymen under the umbrella of Christian Community Platform, CCP, in Delta South Senatorial District, have adopted the presidential standard bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, Delta State governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, as preferred candidates in the 2019 general election. They also pledged their unalloyed support for Sen. James Manager, Hon. Leo Ogor and Hon. Nicholas Mutu in their re-election bids. Making this position known in a prayer rally at Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South council area of Delta State, president of CCP, Rev (Dr) Okonye Cyril, said the Christian-political movement was borne out of divine mandate. The mega rally with the theme “Power Belongs to God” had over five thousand participants from various parts of the state, including high profiled PDP faithful and stalwarts. Rev Cyril noted that their decision to actively participate in the politics of the nation as clergymen was a divine mandate from God, stressing that it was righteous on their part to obey the mandate. “Why we decided to adopt candidates of the PDP is very simple; it is a party that is detribalized, organized and has fielded candidates with high level of consistency. “Politics is not a dirty game as people are made to believe; we are going to play it righteously to achieve set goals for our dear state and nation”. Chairman of the rally planning/implementation committee, Apostle Liberty Usiayo, noted that the idea of the rally was to pray for the February/March polls and to sensitize Christians to come out en masse to vote for Christian candidates. Delta state chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Apostle (Dr) Sylvanus Okorotie, however threw its weight behind CCP’s position and urged Deltans to vote massively for Okowa’s continuity. Deputy governor of Delta state, Barr Kingsley Otuaro, represented by Rev Yelami James, in his goodwill message said PDP was the only viable party to lead the country... https://www-vanguardngr-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2019/01/2019-religious-leaders-adopt-atiku-okowa/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vanguardngr.com%2F2019%2F01%2F2019-religious-leaders-adopt-atiku-okowa%2F

A former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has called on the people of the State to vote for all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming general elections. Nnamani, the leader of the Ebeano political family in the State, recently returned to the PDP, on which platform he will be seeking to represent the Enugu East Senatorial District. Speaking during the flag-off of his campaign at Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of the State, Nnamani pledged to lobby for adequate budgetary allocation for projects that will enhance development in rural communities. Addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP supporters, who gathered at Eha-Amufu Market to receive him, Senator Nnamani explained that the responsibilities of a lawmaker ranged from the statutory duties of law making to lobbying for budgetary allocations for projects, that could have meaningful impact in the development of his district. He assured that he would work towards this direction collectively with the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Enugu East/Isi-Uzo federal constituency, Hon Cornelius Nnaji. He pleaded with the people to vote for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and all other PDP candidates in the 2019 general elections, so they could “collectively and harmoniously work together for development of Enugu State,” stressing that “Enugu has always been a PDP state.” “What I have come for is not only to canvass for votes, but also to thank you for your consistent solidarity in my political career. “After so many years, I came here and still met you people. It is good we are starting from where we stopped. I am committed to Isi-Uzo people,” he declared. He added that “I am here to pay respect to you all. I am very grateful for the opportunity given me. Opportunity to be part of the system all over again because it is not everybody that has that kind of opportunity. “There are people that were coming to say you deserve it, but it is not everything someone deserves that he gets. I took it as a gift and I am very grateful.” “It is a rare opportunity; it is the second, third, fourth and fifth chance you are giving me and I appreciate it and I thank all of you. It is not everybody that will have this kind of opportunity in their lifetime,” he said. Earlier in their addresses, the PDP chairman for Isi-Uzo local government area, the local government executive chairman, Hon Benjamin Odoh Edeoga, the PDP House of Reps candidate for Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal constituency, Hon Cornelius Nnaji, among others, commended Nnamani for his sterling services as a former Governor of the state and leader of the party in Enugu state. They said it was in view of his wide experience and leadership qualities that they pleaded with him to join in the 2019 Enugu East senatorial district race. From Eha-Amufu, Nnamani’s zonal campaign train moved to Ikem, also in Isi-Uzo local government area, where he further commended the mammoth crowd for their solidarity to him and support for PDP in the State. https://dailypost-ng.cdn.ampproject.org/v/dailypost.ng/2019/01/27/2019-polls-vote-pdp-way-ex-governor-chimaroke-enugu-residents/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=http%3A%2F%2Fdailypost.ng%2F2019%2F01%2F27%2F2019-polls-vote-pdp-way-ex-governor-chimaroke-enugu-residents%2F |

The Electricity Power Reform Act (Amendment) Bill 2018 passed by the House of Representatives last Tuesday prohibiting and criminalising estimated billing has proposed a one-year jail term and a fine of N1m for defaulters. The proposed law, which will be transmitted to the Senate for concurrence, and onward transmission to the President for his assent, also compels all electricity distribution companies to give prepaid meters to applicants within 30 days. If assented to, the law will bar a Disco from disconnecting a consumer after the 30-day period within which a meter should be installed. The Majority Leader of the House, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, sponsored the bill in protest against the ‘crazy’ billing of consumers by the Discos. The lawmaker had stated that estimated billing could only be used in situations where a consumer’s meter could not be accessed by the service provider. He said Discos had however deemed estimated billing to be normal. He said, “Any regulation that allows estimation of bills when the actual consumption can be ascertained is against natural justice and equity and should not stand.” The majority leader had also said the bill, when passed into law, would stop estimated billing. “The bill will ensure that prepaid meters are installed in all houses, so long as the customers apply for the meters,” he had said. The House passed the bill upon the adoption of the committee report on the proposed law, following a public hearing held on June 5, 2018. Gbajabiamila had, at the public hearing stated that there was nowhere in the world where electricity customers were billed arbitrarily. (or her) jurisdiction for a prepaid meter and such consumer shall pay the regulated fee for prepaid meter to be installed in his (or her) premises and the Electricity Distribution Company shall within 30 days or receiving the application and payment install the prepaid meter applied for in the premises of the consumer. “(3) Customers who elect to buy their prepaid meters through credit advancement metering implementation must state in their applications and such customers must be metered within 30 days of the receipt of their applications. “(4) All electricity charges or billings to the premises of every consumer shall be based strictly on prepaid metering and no consumer shall be made to pay any bill without a prepaid meter first being installed at the premises of the consumer.” In the new Section 69, the proposed law stipulates that the Disco serving the consumer, upon connection, must inform the customer in writing on the nature of the meter installed, tariff methodology and all other services available to the customer. The new Section 70 states that in giving effect to the provisions of the Act, the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, as the regulatory body, must ensure that all licensed Discos comply with the provisions of this Act. |
The Ekiti State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja will on Monday deliver judgment on a petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party challenging the election of Dr Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress. Notices to this effect had been sent to counsel who represented parties while the petition was argued and defended. Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Suleiman Belgore had on January10 told the parties that the tribunal would give them 48 hours notice before the delivery of the tribunal’s verdict. The petition, which was filed by the PDP and its governorship candidate, Prof Kolapo Olusola, challenged the victory of Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at last year’s governorship polls in the state. At the last hearing, counsel presented their final written addresses. Counsel to the petitioners, Yusuf Ali SAN, urged the tribunal to nullify Fayemi’s victory on the grounds that Fayemi was not qualified to have stood for the July 2018 election having been barred from seeking elective office for 10 years on the strength of his indictment by the Justice Oyewole Commission of Inquiry. Ali also urged the tribunal to uphold the sanctity of the country’s electoral process by nullifying the election based on alleged malpractices, like over voting, deliberate voiding of votes meant for the petitioners, among others. However, Lateef Fagbemi SAN, counsel to Fayemi, urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition for being baseless and lacking in merit. Fagbemi contended that the purported indictment of his client by the commission of inquiry was based on Section 182, a section, he argued had been deleted from the constitution by the first alteration in 2010. He added that the petitioners erred in basing the petition on a section of the law that was deleted eight years ago. He stated that his client could not be punished for an offence not captured in law. He noted that all allegations against the election of Fayemi were criminal in nature, and submitted that the petitioners failed woefully to prove them. On the allegation of voiding of votes, he stated that throughout the hearing of the petition, no single ballot paper was tendered before the tribunal to support the claim. Similarly, counsel to the APC, Chief Akin Olujinmi (SAN) urged the court to dismiss the petition on the grounds that the APC governorship candidate was not lawfully indicted by the Oyewole Commission of Inquiry as required by law. He submitted that the purported indictment and the 10-year ban was based on the alleged disrespect of Fayemi to the commission by his refusal to appear before it. Counsel to INEC, Chief Charles Uwensuyi-Edosomwan (SAN) urged the tribunal to uphold the election on the ground that the electoral body conducted the election in substantial compliance with the laws. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2019/01/27/ekiti-poll-fayemi-olusola-know-fate-tomorrow/?amp |

James is currently working through you guys advice, but Titi is taking another turn now; she's now in the business of reporting James to his close associates that he (James) had only reached out to her once this year. |
pryme:WOW! This is extremely thoughtful. Thank you brother for your unreserved contribution |
raphretle:Thank you bro; well noted |
Vcent50:You might be right buddy. But I still believe there are upright ladies and guys out there who could make relationship work regardless of the distance, hence why I couldn't entirely fault distance for the mishap in this James-Titi relationship. I stand to be corrected. |
Michelle55:As well as being deeply in love with her, James already told his reverend & wife when he introduced Titi to them that they'd be happening in 2019 but not earlier than the second quarter. The reverend and his wife, as well as close associates of James and Titi are now praying and planning James-Titi 2019. This is one major reason why James is confused and in need of unalloyed advice. Michelle55; I toll your line of advice though and already shared that with James earlier, but this his reason of confusion is why I created this thread. I really want to hear from people like you who would imagine themselves in James shoe. Thank you |
Michelle55:Don't you think what's affecting her is the gulf of distance in locations between them? |
Four months after they met, James, 31, came from Abuja to meet with Titi's mom (dad not in the picture), and later with James' parents who welcomed her with both arms. They spent five quality days at home with James parents before they both parted for their respective locations. A fortnight after, Titi 32, told James she met a guy (Fola, 33, married but filing for divorce) who asked her out. She claimed to tell Fola that she is in a relationship and her fiancé is in Abuja. Fola then asked for casual friendship instead because he is new in town and needed someone to be his GPRS. James, a pragmatic and forthright guy who respects individual's freewill, said to Titi "I won't choose your friends for you, you're no longer a kid, I trust you'd know how to handle yourself." Under this friendship guise, Fola worked his way to Titi's heart and the pair became extremely close. In fact, since James is not in town, Titi took solace in Fola's friendship. They go to movies together, go out on several dates, and the bond became strong. Titi eventually took confidant in Fola and tells him things. This is the point where Fola caring ability crept in. He gave her money to change her hair (which James asked her to return, but she didn't), bought her new smartphone because her phone crashed. Titi's mom became uncomfortable with Titi-Fola relationship (which has been going on for about two months then), and she told Titi that "you've already brought James home to me, I don't know what you're doing with this Fola guy. As a matter of fact, where will you tell James you got that phone from?" Unknown to the mother, her communication with James at this point was about twice a week with less than two minutes each call. Bolu (married, mother of one in Ibadan), a long time friend of Titi since their days in tertiary institution had to stepped in to salvage Titi-James relationship on phone at a time when Fola's contract is completed and had to leave the town. While Bolu didn't display any knowledge of Titi-Fola relationship, she claimed that "the Titi I know would never double date" when issue on suspicion ensued in her discussion with James. Titi and James had to pick up the pieces, thanks to Bolu. Boom!!! Titi visited James in Abuja. On the second night, James tried to touch his fiancee, and to his bemusement he realised that the so precious and tight c**t is now free and easy to penetrate. This helped confirm his suspicion and gave him reasons to ask questions later. He pulled out halfway, and that was it that night. On return from work the following day, James called Titi and asked her about Fola. On several occasions, she denied being something other than casual friend to Fola until James brought up his observation of the loose c**t. At this point what d'you expect? Crocodile tears rolled down the eyes and an emotional cry followed. Eventually she claimed they had it only once the entire time they were together and that was less than forty eight hours before her journey to Abuja. And remember, two days earlier, Bolu was still deep in her discussion with James trying to salvage the relationship. That night, Titi cried alot. She said it was a mistake and that everything happened because she was just living and enjoying the moment with Fola with nothing matters to her at that time. She claimed she will never tried it again. James took her back for the single fact that she confessed. He even promised her that it will be their little secret (after all every family has one). The two love birds tell each other things. As a result, two months after, she told him of some guy (Charles, recently returned from the US) who's asking her hand in marriage. She told Charles she's in a relationship and that the fiancé (who's now out of job) is in Abuja. Charles is making friends and going on dates with her now. They've even planned days to go see movies. James reacted by saying "since you won't be offering him (Charles) what he wanted, then let him go. What's the point being friends with your suitor?" Titi replied by saying "so I'm not allow to make new friends anymore because I'm dating you?" Communications between the pair had gone down ever since. In fact, they've only managed to exchange calls twice this year and both are filled with scorn now. James is confused, needs you guys genuine advice please! |
