Take a look at a black man mentality. Typical Nigerian. People's downfall makes you happy.

Why won't others be happy when at your downfall?

United need to buy a whole squad just like Nottingham forest did. Buy players from small teams across the EPL. They would play their hearts out for ETH. To be fair to Ten hag, he gave the team an identity last season. They had a pattern but these idiot players after one season always feel like sacking the coach. It has become a culture at united. They did it to Mourinho, vanghaal, solskjaer, rangnick. If not for Ronaldo that kept working to help keep solskjaer's job. It's really unfair to condemn ETH cos if you look at the previous Managers, would we now say they are bad? The club is in tatters and the players played like school boys today cos they know that next season, they probably won't be here. United's season is over. They would likely lose every single game till the end of the season. They need players that would play for ten hag next season. They should stop buying celebrity players

ETH is an idiot for how he treated Ronaldo before Ronaldo interview ,he deserves everything he is getting.

Events / A High Society Wedding In Aba (1931), By Tayo Agunbiade by FreeStuffsNG: 4:21am
A high society wedding in Aba (1931), By Tayo Agunbiade

The reception was held at Bishop’s Court and it was attended by a host of Nigerians, as well as some British colonial administrators.

The Master of Ceremony, Mr JA Clarke, gave a speech in which he hailed what he described as: “The Union of the Howells of Nigeria and the Liverpool family of West Indies; East and West have been united together as it were. It is hoped that the good example set will be followed by others and that so many of our kith and kin in America and the West Indies will by this, be brought to join us in West Africa.”

On 7 January 1931, a society wedding that attracted the attention of the press took place in Aba, Eastern Nigeria. Two years earlier, the region had been in the news due to the turn of events that shook the country, but on this day, all roads led to the town.

The Lagos-based Nigerian Pioneer newspaper described the event as “a society and popular wedding of an unprecedented character and importance.”

The celebrated marital union which took place at St Michael’s Church was between Irene Victoria Liverpool, the daughter of Mr JB Liverpool, a retired Jamaican school master, and Charles Adebayo Howells, the son of Rt Reverend Adelakun Howells.

The bride’s father had worked as a teacher in Nigeria, while the groom’s father was a well-known member of the Anglican Communion, who often lent his voice to national issues. When Reverend Howells was installed as Bishop of the Niger Delta Church at St Stephen’s Cathedral, Bonny, in March 1921, a poem by Sam Fombo was specially dedicated to him and published in the Nigerian Pioneer. The poem goes, in part: “Unfold it meekly and not with pride, on the undulating fields of the Delta, that he’s installed in the Cathedral to-day, the third African Bishop.”

Indeed, Reverend Howell was a public figure in his own right. Back in June 1916, from his office at the St John’s Parsonage in Lagos, he penned a letter to the Lagos Weekly Record, in which he offered his opinion on a debate about private and church schools in Nigeria. In 1930, he was called upon to deliver the thanksgiving sermon to mark the Centenary of the Egbas. Such was his popularity, that in 1918, a report in the Lagos Weekly Record, under the headline ‘Rumoured changes in the Anglican Communion’ observed: “It is rumoured that the Reverend AW Howells will be transferred to Christ Church.”

His popularity was sufficient reason for the wedding ceremony of his son to attract news headlines in 1931.

The reception was held at Bishop’s Court and it was attended by a host of Nigerians, as well as some British colonial administrators. District Officer, Captain EJG Kelly and his wife, were amongst a group of guests who signed the marriage register in the vestry. Others who participated in the signing ceremony were the ‘Iya Iyawo’, (Mother of the Day), Mrs E Pepple, Dr and Mrs TB Barber, and the groom’s parents.

There are no details of what the bride wore. But it was said that she was dressed in the “latest bridal fashion.” The service commenced at 2.15 p.m. with the groom’s younger brother, Mr AW Howells Jnr, as the best man, while Stella Liverpool, Modupe Macaulay, Olubunmi Adewakun and Tina Olumide were the bridesmaids.

The clergy of the Delta Pastorate were in full attendance. They included Bishop Reverend SS Williams, of St Cyprian’s Church, Port Harcourt; Reverend MD Showers, pastor of St Peter’s Church, Okrika, and Reverend VE Boyles, pastor of St Michael’s Church, Aba.

Of the crowd, the report said:

By the time the service was actually over, the church yard was crowded with eager spectators and visitors and Bishop’s court was seething with a large and good humoured crowd who had come to do honour to the occasion. Amidst various groups of drummers and dancers, the Yorubas were particularly conspicuous with their uniforms and peculiar headgears.

The Nigerian Pioneer said the “punctual” attendance of Mr Kelley:

Gave great satisfaction and was much appreciated and indeed they have won the goodwill and affection of the people of Aba. They have in every way endured themselves to the people and it will be a day of weeping and lamentation when (by promotion alone we hope), they will be removed from the Division.

It is likely that this comment was said in the context of the Aba Women’s War, which had occurred in the Eastern Province of Nigeria in December 1929. The incident which saw the loss of lives, injuries and sexual violence against the women protestors, elicited animosity towards the colonial administration over its taxation policies, collective punishment ordinance, native judicial systems etc.

According to the report, there was plenty of entertainment: “Drumming and dancing were carried out till late in the evening after the happy pair had left by train, amidst the cheers and applause of the people and throwing of the proverbial rice to spend their honeymoon at Mbawi, the beautiful country residence of Mr Chamberlain Jumbo.”

After the incident, the government set up a “Commission of Inquiry into the Eastern Disturbances.” The testimonies given at the Inquiry formed the basis of global attention of the region and all the proceedings were published in the Nigerian Daily Times. The presence of the Kelleys at the wedding may have been part of a process to repair relations and rebuild trust with the communities.

Amongst the guests were several lawyers who were well-known in the region, not least for their participation in the Commission of Inquiry. They were Barrister Steven B. Rhodes (who represented the women of Nguru, Aba, Umuaro and Opobo Station etc.), Sigismund Macaulay (the leader of the practising Bar of the Eastern Division of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, who represented women of Egwanga and Opobo Town etc.), and Stanley J Benjamin (who represented women in Ahoada District). Other guests were Mr TKE Phillips, a well-known organist, Mr and Mrs LC Briggs, Mr and Mrs JC Mammah and Mr LR Alali.

A wide range of gifts were given to the couple. They included a toilet set from Lady Lucretia Ajasa; a hand bag from Mrs Steve B Rhodes; a custard set from the Aba Athletics club; wall pictures from Messrs L Thomas and TA Adedeji; a cheese dish, custard and sugar bowl from Mr and Mrs H Bowari Brown; a blanc-mange cup and salad bowl from Reverend and Mrs VE Boyle. Other items given to the couple were dressing table sets, cash and cheques, trays, as well as water, tea and liquor sets.

you are wrong,a strip club loses its appeal when it is decent.

You mean a strip club loses it's appeal when their customers can relatively feel safe in the club, when the prices are not necessarily over the roof, when the ladies are not very dirty, ugly and utterly disrespectful,

you mean a strip club loses it's appeal when the environment is clean and the ambience is well thought out and the services they provide is generally top notch and good value for money?

If the above is true then strip club loses their appeal when they are decent

sorry, but you are wrong. This is not the player's fault. Don't put it on them. 7 of the 11 players on that pitch tonight were signed by him. 2 were brought from the academy by him. None of those players who played tonight played under Ole Gunnar. They are all his own boys. So why say the players are throwing him under the bus?
Na so we talk about the players throwing one particular coach overboard but Ole come use those same players go 19 games unbeaten and had a very good run with them. When you as a coach don begin get things wrong, things go fall apart. leave players out abeg.
Una blame Fred, blame De Gea, blame Sancho, blame Pogba, blame Lingard, blame Rashford, blame Bruno say Bruno too dey lose ball. None of them play this game o. So na still players??

Arsenal’s Omotara Junaid draws attention of Nigeria’s Football Federation

Arsenal’s Omotara Junaid is making waves, attracting attention from the Nigeria Football Federation. Discover her journey from Arsenal U16s to a possible international career.
Omotara Junaid, a promising talent from Arsenal Women U16s, is being tracked by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Junaid, having thrived at Arsenal, has the potential to represent three nations – Nigeria, England, and the United States.
Despite representing the Young Lionesses in non-binding matches, Junaid could opt for Nigeria if offered the opportunity.
In the world of football, there’s always a search for the next big thing. For the Nigeria Football Federation, it seems their eyes have landed on Omotara Junaid, the rising star of Arsenal‘s Women U16s.
Born in the United States to Nigerian parents, Omotara spent a part of her childhood in Nigeria before moving to England. This journey means that she’s eligible to represent three nations on the international stage: Nigeria, the United States, and England.

Although the English Football Association have already claimed Omotara’s services, owing to her appearances in a binding games for the Young Lionesses, it is believed she harbours a fondness for Nigeria. If given the chance, she would likely opt for the Super Falcons in the future according to AllNigeriaSoccer.com.
At Arsenal, Junaid has proven herself an indispensable part of the squad. As the club’s second-highest goalscorer in the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway League, she was a significant contributor to the U16s’ Invincible season and league title victory. Having found the net nine times, Junaid’s prowess as a box-to-box midfielder is apparent.
Arsenal’s youth team coaches have tried her out as a right-back, but ultimately believe her talents are best utilised in a number 8 role. They describe Junaid as a versatile player, comfortable on the ball, unafraid to tackle, and possessing a commendable physique for her age. As a winger, she is also adept at unsettling the opposition with her dynamism and flair.
Football prowess, it seems, runs in the family. Her older brother, Tolu, was very close to being selected for the Golden Eaglets squad for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Algeria. Despite a series of impressive performances in friendly matches, he was unfortunately dropped from the squad.
With her impressive performance at Arsenal and the Nigeria Football Federation’s interest, Omotara Junaid seems poised for an exciting career trajectory. Only time will tell if this young talent chooses to represent the Super Falcons, making a significant leap in her blossoming football career.

The good thing is the club is taking giant positive strides now to right so many foundational errors that have spanned over 15 years.

A lot of work is going on to correct their transfer policies.

They will finally get things right.

Sometimes, you have to hit rock bottom to get things right.

Arsenal, Milan, Liverpool, and many more clubs have been down this road.

It's good to also see, however, that Manutd owners don't give an ear to the likes of y'all Nigeria manutd fans, who ignorantly reject the fact that Manutd don't have any comparison with a rented club like Chelsea. But ignorant people on here will keep on pushing rivalry with a smaller club like Chelsea.

The time of sacking should have been after the 18th game. It was already obvious they were heading down the toilet then.

The man will mutually depart end of the month... Moyes too is living West Ham by month end too.

Sacking Ten Hag is not enough tho.... If Rashford, Casemiro, and others are not sold by next transfer window, then the club is not ready for the top.

Which top, it took Man U about 6 years to build this team to this standard and they were consistent for about 4 seasons finishing with 4th and 5th, now they are wearing out. So expect them to use another 10 years to build another formidable team.

Congratulations to Arsenal. They will lift this premier league. That I have seen.

Chelsea will do just better next season.

Up Blues.

Samson Siasia came to limelight in Moscow 85 after missed Mexico 83 due to his WAEC in St Finbarrs, and later made Moscow 85 where he assisted Monday Odiaka to emerge as one of the leading scorer
..He would have made Afcon 86 with Odiaka,Austin Igbinabairo,Osaro Obabaifo but Nigeria failed to qualify, losing to Zambia and this led to sack of Chris Udemezue.

Samson Siasia was not released for Maroc 88 just like Keshi who later forced his way by flew in out in and played two matches during the tournament.

After the tournament Samson Siasia emerged again with Yekini,Sam Okwaraji,Andrew Uwe and Stephen Keshi, they qualified eagles for Seoul Olympic Games.Samson Siasia played all through 1990 WC qualifiers but not released again by his club for Algiers 1990.

He made his Afcon debut in 1992 which was too late for a player who was regular with eagles since late 1985.

Marjoribanks:
I meant Siasia hardly assist Yekini. The same Siasia that did not make the 1988 and 1990 Nations Cup? Siasis came into limelight 1991/92.

Samson Siasia did not came to limelight in 1992 Afcon.

Once again, Politano assists..
Any club that wants to sign Osimhen should sign Politano as well
Those two have serious understanding like KDB and Haaland do
