As if ox was playing the whole minutes as a CM when Arsenal were down by 4.

It was already a lost cause for Arsenal at the time he gave the ball away. I certainly won't blame him for that. Rather the blame should be on Wenger who keeps swapping him into different position within a game. That would definitely leave any player confused.

Another is his over dependence on 4231 tactic. Tactic should be picked based on the kind of players you have in the team and seeing how the team has no good wingers and a weak central midfield that can't over compensate for Ozil invisibility in the no 10, a 4231 set up is a recipe for disaster. A 433 setup or 442 diamond setup would have been better for the team. Whichever ways, Coq shouldn't even be in the team in the first place.

For me, I think a player should be given the benefit of the doubt first. Iirc, ox has never had a bad game in the midfield, right? That's more reason he should be tried there.

This is no different from Di Maria who looked like an headless chicken on the wing and Ancelotti found a position for him in the middle regardless of how Alonso and Modric tends to make him a lot better than he is but he complemented them with his runs and ability to carry the ball over a long distance. In ox case, he's even showed fantastic performance in the midfield without the help of passing masters such as Modric and Alonso. He could be your Dembele who was previously a striker you know.

If I were Wenger, ox woulda been my favourite replacement for the injured Cazorla in the midfield than say Elney/Ramsey but no, Wenger prefers him on the bench or the wing where he often looks abject, he was decent on the wing when he came on today though.

And there are average sicknotes like Walcott, ox et al although I would love to see a consistent run of ox as a box-box CM in the midfield. He looked good vs Millan and Bayern in the CL when he played there. He's no dependable though, just like Wilshere because they are always unfit.

I was hoping we would dominate Arsenal without Cazorla.. They've been ordinary since he's got injured but no, our players were just dancing around and taking it easy despite the lot of space in the middle.. All we had to do is to mark out Ozil and Sanchez and proceed to play our game because apart from those 2, Arsenal has no other quality players to hurt us until Giroud came on in the last minutes but we already wasted our moment to take the game to Arsenal.

Even though Mata scored in the game, he did nothing apart from the goal. That's one of the reason I kinda disliked him. He often plays more like a secondary striker, running forward to be at the receiving end of passes, instead of being the one providing the passes and creativity needed in the final third. No wonder Ibra often drops deep to linkup the play, especially when Pogba's customary chipped passes to him fails.. As for Pogba, I really don't understand what he contributed on the pitch today.. The only positive is Carrick keeping Ozil in his pocket throughout the match.

And whatzup with Mourinho always going defensive as soon as the team managed to score a goal? Imagine bringing in Schneiderlin to see off the match... He's just not serious!

As for Arsenal, I keep laughing at their deployment of Sanchez as a false striker.. Instead of deploying Giroud to create the presence upfront, they would rather play Sanchez! Not only are they taking away one of his best quality, which is constantly running at the opponent from the wing but also the fact that Sanchez isn't a false 9. And as soon as Ozil gets subdued/marked out, he becomes more isolated upfront with nothing to do apart from picking his nose. Even Ozil would do better in that false striker role than Sanchez because he's got better awareness and the movement to draw out opposition defenders than Sanchez. As a matter of fact, Ozil played the false 9 role for Germany in their 2014 world cup qualifying matches and was consistently their best player throughout those qualifiers.. Even Walcott is far better than Sanchez in the role except for his poor finishing..
