A 6 month old plantain farm looking like a 1 month old plantain farm is not encouraging,Thank God for my timely intervention, that farm will have made a loss.
A lot of managerial practices are needed to be done after setting-up of a plantain farms.

Plantain (Musa spp.) occupies a strategic position for rapid food production
in Nigeria. It is ranked third among starchy staples. The countrys output doubled in
the last 20 years. Production, which is concentrated in the Southern part of the
country, still remains largely in the hands of small scale farmers who, over the years,
have ingeniously integrated it into various cropping systems.

The Compound Production System. Plantains are grown in various convenient points
around the compound. The size depends on how much space is available in the
compound/farmland, how many people in the household are interested in owning mats and the need of the household for numerous other possible compound tree crops. Bunch yield is usually high in this system and could be attributed to application of organic matter from household wastes This system is more predominant in the Southeastern part of Nigeria, where most compounds are within land limited areas owing to high population pressure.

plantain to the income of rural households in major producing areas in Nigeria
continue to increase tremendously in the last few years. Unlike some other starchy
staples whose demand tend to fall with rising income, demand for plantain increases
with increasing income. With the potential for industrial processing of plantain,
which has recently been adopted, and the increased interest in production by small
and large scale farms in the country, it is believed that Nigeria will continue to be
one of the worlds largest producers of plantain.

We so much thank you sir for the acknowledgement towards our efforts.... on your plantain farm ..we are saying you kindly recommend us to who you. Know that is also interested.... Thank you very much sirv
