There is a french saying that "None could be more deaf than He who does not want to hear". People nowadays have no scruples in attacking anything they do not yet understand. A few will be objective and state what their misgivings are. Most others will simply repeat what they heard from someone else without first making sure the person is telling thr truth. Alternatively they twist the truth, or worse, tell blatant lies.
It is always shocking and a little sad to experience how it is especially those who assert their steadfast religiousness who will utter statements full of violence, baseness and other filth. If people were really living according to the teachings in their religions, so much would be already better on Earth.
