No any disadvantages of making high Kpost. It's depend on the type of roofing you want to use, and the house design. What is effect or beauty of using Stone coated tiles of lower roof carcass? Tall roofing is more beautiful and stable to damages, but cost more woods, more roofing sheets and more labor cost.

Madam, it's not clear, just ask your archetec to give the sizes and give you the quantity of longspan the house might consume, from there you will have idea of money you will spend of buying roofing sheets

Reasons: The house is not wide. Just make sure to follow the conditions of doing the wood work, guide your carpenter your self, get more of 2 by 3, do closer purlins and your good to go.

Should I be worried?

Do you want to compared zinc lapping with that of factory corrugated Aluminum. If you use Metcopo on flat wood work not well done, you will end up doing repairs every raining seasons after expansion of at least one year.

We have more leakages of roof in SW compared to SE and SS. Why because they do their wood work higher.

High wood work, may cause more money in all level, but we give luxurious beauty and complete rest of mind in next 30years.

You built wide house with low wood work and you use Metcopo, you just want stress the roofer Next raining season.

I give free guide on wood work and can advise you with a better carpenters to work for you.

I was born and bred in a flat roofed house with the Swan Zinc you people have rejected today but till now the roof is still there and am not less than 30. So it's possible your friend' s house was roofed with all these "Painted Papers" called Aluminium sheets or Stone coated tiles.

Please we should all note these. Some roofer are not experience, while some do, but are looking for jobs to feed their families.

GTB will never use lower gauge to cover their banks, they use 0.65mm or 0.7 or 0.55mm of full gauge type and they obey all conditions of wood work.

When you want to do flat wood work, stay away from using steptile Aluminum, run from Metcopo. Stay away from using low gauge 0.45mm. But use 0.55mm Only Longspan, if want to have assurance use 900mm corrugated type.

Wood work: If you want make wood work for flat houses.... do a purlin of max 550mm distance or 500mm perfect. Use a good carpenter, use straight 2 by 3 wood for purlin and finally use longspan metra 0.55mm if u want use 0.45mm use 900mm and good gauge and make the purlin for wood work line 500mm distance.

Always contact us b4 u do wood work so we can guide you. Only experience teaches all these.

When wood work is bad and leakages starts, the wahala land on the roof installer.

all GTBank roof will be leaking too, because i know flat roof is their concept and no bank structure in Nigeria can stand shoulder to shoulder with them. The roofer did a bad job.

If you get the full gauge of 0.45mm Longspan u will enjoy till last.

But, if u want use other 0.45mm, do a wood work of purlin space of 500mm don't go 550mm. It's may be cheap, but disadvantages and the roof won't be laid perfect, it's won't look beautiful.

To get full guage, contact me, but note the prices are not same as others.
